We stayed one night at hotel Albaida in order to catch the ferry the next day. We had a quiet room facing towards the town.
The 30 room hotel was pleasant. The staff were open to our requests. The hotel offers quirks, that allowed us to break the ice and interact with the staff on a more personal level.
Gated on site Parking is available.
There is a small grocery store next door. Beaches are a short walk away. We also enjoyed Beachside dining.
Me gusto
Car parking was advertised at 10 Euro, we were charged 20 Euro because we had a Tesla!
On arrival after a 10 hour drive we were informed there was no restaurant (website claims restaurant) Staff were teenagers who were clueless and were Merry having been drinking by the pool!
They were unable to open the bottle of wine (we had to do it ourselves) given a cracked glass!
Eventually we we’re forced into a pasta takeaway that was mediocre to say the least!
The room basic, but with a fridge, the bedding was thin and had marks on them! Towels were very good! Shower was poor in pressure but hot! After a good nights sleep, breakfast was good and on request they did make us an omelet!
Relajada y con un desayuno excelente. Buen lugar para disfrutar de las playas de Huelva.
Ha sido muy agradable
100% recomendable. Clean, quite, nice staff, parking, near a gas station, near to the Doñana Natural Park, nice building, near all the beaches (Rompeculos, Parador, etc.) Good breakfast. English spoken.
Gorgeous little family run hotel in Mazagón, maybe about 20 minutes from Huvela’s port.
Traditionally Spanish with some nice modern touches, most importantly - friendly staff, strong free WiFi, loads of sunloungers by the pool, outdoor gym with weights, big (free) car park with a supermarket and petrol station on the same road and last but not least - excellent white wine at the bar (vino Blanco)
Not extravagant but charmingly Spanish, much like Mazgón itself.
Also they’ll put champagne and roses on your bed if you request it haha.
Will be back! :)
The hotel and most importantly the room was spotless.. In the month of May I got my room for an affordable price; this included breakfast and horse riding on the beach that is unforgettable. The hotel is located close is a snort distance to the beach and is well located on main roads making easy to find and access. The staff was super friendly, engaging and informative (I was impressed by their overall efficiency). The only criticism I could give them is the breakfast as I like a cooked breakfast and they did not offer it, however; that I aside Albaida is now my go to place in that area.
This is the forth time that I stop in this hotel after my long trip to Canarias. I would like to confirm that it is a nice hotel, confortable rooms, very professional people, Maria is really very special. You can have a rich breakfast. it is very close to the sea, restaurants. If you want spend holidays is perfect! WIFI excellent!
Also ,very important for me , the dogs are welcome!!!
I planned a ride on my motorcycle from Huelva to eastern Spain. Ferry boat coming in to Huelva at eight o clock in the evening I did not want to ride to far in the dark. I browsed for reasonably priced Hotels not to far from the port of Huelva. I ended up with the Albida Nature Hotel in Magazon. What luck!! I was met in the reception by the friendliest Maria ever. I felt like a superstar. It was raining upon arrival and the forecast was really bad for the night. Maria offered me to park the Harley indoors right next to the reception. She would keep an eye on the bike all night as she was on the night shift. The room was upstairs. Nice and clean - as expected. As I came in a bit after the kitchen was closed, the menu was slightly limited. She made a Ham and Cheese sandwich upon request - no problem. Maria even offered a spaghetti dish she made especially for me. I had a long drive thee next day, so she prepared the breakfast half an hour earlier than schedule so that I should get some food before I had to go. Well, it rained quite heavily when I was scheduled to leave, so I had to postpone the departure from the hotel a half hour. No problem - Maria fixed all the cafe americanos I wished for. I am sorry it was for only one night.
I totally recommend this hotel. I will most definately be staying there if in the area in the future. Thank you ever so much Maria!! :-)
The Aibida Nature Hotel
Magazon
My husband had stayed here six months ago ( November ) on the journey to Tenerife, and apparently compared to then, there have been big improvements! ( not that in November there were problems, obviously, otherwise we wouldn't be staying again) However the rooms we were given this visit were both downstairs with a private entrance and ( kinda ) patio. In the winter he was upstairs.
These downstairs rooms, he thinks, have recently been re furbished to a very good standard and are subliminally contemporary and chic! Very tastefully done.
Clean and quiet, they have a lovely big bed, free wifi, tv, but - and - it's probably a European thing - NO kettle! Bah!
Well located for coming off the boat, at ten minutes from the port, and also perfect for a ten minute stroll into beautiful Magazon, dog friendly with a field safe from the road to run them in.
Buffet breakfast for six euros, hassle free check in and check out, "perfecto!"
Driving London - Huelva for a Naviera Armas ferry to Tenerife with a cat.
A nice and clean hotel, but a little overvalued by the staff. Were offered a "superior" room, for the same price as online, which included breakfast, when arrived, we were told that breakfast is not included, because we get a superior room which we did not need. We were told it's newly refurbished and has a large TV screen which it did not. Haha. Not that we care about TVs, but there is no need to lie is it?
Breakfast for €4.50 p.p. but glad we did not pay for it in the evening. In the morning we went to the cafe and the selection of foods really surprised. There were buns, cheese, ham and cereal. No eggs, no warm food, so we decided to only have coffee.
Visited with a cat, charged extra 15€ per night. Other pet friendly hotels on the way accepted with no extra charge.
However, there isn't a great choice of pet friendly hotels in the area, so we were glad to find this one.
It is really close to Huelva port, about 20mins drive, so it's great to have some rest before a long ferry transfer to Canaries.
Lovely bathroom and a wardrobe <3
Overall, paid 65€ for one night without breakfast.
After my first trip to Mazagon and staying at Albaida Hotel the staff here has become like a family and they truly are excited when our working group comes again. The food here is fantastic, the rooms (especially if you are in one of the newer once) are great. The pool was a nice addition a few years ago. Perfect location to go out on the town or go for a ride to nearby places. Looking forward to my next trip there if it comes.
Been here 8 days and have enjoyed all the meals and the friendly staff that are here. Though I do not speak Spainish, the staff do their best to help me in any way they can and make me feel welcome. The room is not the the fanciest, but it is neat and clean and has met my needs. I hope I will have the opportunity come back again in the future.
How difficult is it to tell your guest the correct price for the room? How hard is it to book a room for 2 nights? In our case it was very difficult.
Having arrived on Friday we struggled to find a room and were very pleased to find this hotel. It is located close to a busy motorway, so location was not great, but we were tired and the staff seemed welcoming enough.
We asked for a room for 1 or 2 nights and were told that only superior double was presently available at the price of 73 euro. We accepted and were shown into a small dark room, which did not look like a superior double, with a view of 3 old air conditioning units piled up next to each other. At this point we were too tired and hungry to care and so accepted it.
On the way out to get some food we spoke to a friendly British expat, who told us he was a handyman at the hotel and gave us some pointers on what to see.
When we came back later this evening we were met by the girl from the reception, who in a sweetest possible way apologised for putting us in the wrong room and informed us that in our absence our bags were moved to a different room.
Our room number too was much better and bigger room although we were a bit non-plussed about our personal items (previously unpacked and spread on the bed) having been moved by the staff members without our permission.
We had a dissent enough sleep, apart from strange beeping sound that woke us up at 7am and went on at regular intervals for the rest of the morning. We have never indentified the source of this noise.
Before going out for some breakfast we decided to pop into reception and to confirm that we will be staying another night. This is where it all got very strange.
A new girl at the reception was just about to book us in when the handyman(?) , sitting just behind her, told her in a leading way “You are full for today, aren’t you?”.
The girl looked at him in a puzzled way and he repeated “You are full for today, aren’t you?” At this point the girl at the reception, looking slightly uncomfortable, told us that they had no rooms for that day, even though we could see that the car park was pretty empty.
We were extremely puzzled as to why the hotel owners were not keen to sell a superior double for another night, but the explanation arrived shortly when we attempted to check out. We were presented a bill for 85 euro, not for 74 euro as we were originally told. It turned out the girl at the reception got seasonal prices mixed up and instead of sorting it out the hotel owners choose to tell us that there is no rooms for that day. Despite explaining over and over again that we were sold the room for 74 euro, we were forced to pay 85 euro.
We also met the couple the following day who had similar problem a year ago and had to pay more for their stay than they have anticipated. So our advice it: be careful and if you do choose to stay in this hotel – pay in advance and get it in writing that you have paid.
There is not exactly an over-abdundance of hotels in this resort which is popular with the Spanish, so the Hotel Abeida is a useful find. The room and beds were okay but the pillows were the inadequate sauage type. However, specific sizes and shapes of pillow could be ordered via the hotel's unique (in my experience) special pillow service.
Breakfast was good for a continental-style spread. Reception staff were friendly and efficient, and spoke English. Cafe/restaurant staff were the same but with less English. The food and wine on the menu were good, and a particular bottle of 'bread seasoning' olive oil with lemon and pepper absolutely outstanding.
The hotel was generally clean and fairly quiet, and about a ten minute stroll from the beach and town, which is basically a sprawl of villas with a main street of shops and restaurants. Next to the hotel (but not too close) is a garage which is handy for buying snacks and water etc.
I went in May this year (2006) and it wasn't very busy.
