The whole experience from check in to departure was a complete disaster, Thry couldn’t find our booking, I had to show them my PayPal account to prove I’d paid and were given to old unrenovated rooms at the back.
The listed stated cable TV bit the rooms had no TVs
Stated free bottled water but were told we had to pay for any water.
Stated daily housekeeping but no one came to clean the rooms while we were there.
Bedding consisted of some old blankets with holes in them and no sheets.
I finally complained to the manager who appeared genuinely shocked to discover what had happened and offered us a free shuttle service to the airport in the form of an apology.
The staff were nice but all the issues listed above just ruined the whole experience.
The hotel is in a wonderful location but it is isolated.
Menu and breakfast catered purely to Filipinos tastes and so I wouldn’t recommend this as suitable for western travellers.
The hotel itself is generally to run down for westerners tp be comfortable.
Locals probably won’t mind the short comings sorry appears very popular for functions and weddings.
First hotel I”ve ever reviewed where I really can’t think good to say about the experience,
The pool is ok I guess and it’s right on the beach
Our stay in Surigao was absolute bliss!! Although this place is old and has been badly affected by typhoon Odette a couple of years ago and is still undergoing renovations. The location was gold! The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Its location is in their famous Mabua Pebble Beach, Surigao City, and on the foot of a mountain and with some 300 steps you get the most amazing view.
It is also a fishing village and I've spent every night just watching the fishermen on their boats catching squid. They come back around 11pm and go back out again to catch fish and come back early morning. I have never seen a full functioning fishing village.
I am in awe at the simplicity of the life here.
And the sunset...well...it was exceptional 👌
Highly recommend this place 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟one day I will come back and I will definitely stay here again.
The best aspect is its fine location on the "Pebble Beach" (amazing crystal-clear ocean swimming) and clean pool, snuggled against a beautiful forest-mountain. We are a large family of 10 ; booked a family room rated "for 10"-- but were informed when arrived that our advertized cost was only good "for 5", so we had to pay DOUBLE that in cash. So BEWARE! The room was fine, great view of ocean and sunset... but WIFI too weak, useless; and water supply in bathroom was turned off at 9pm to 8am.
The bed was hard. Toilet stinks. The floor was dirty when we arrived. I ask my family how they will rate the hotel room from range of 1-10 and they say it's 3.
