Nethway Hotel

When i checked in the people were so welcoming and friendly, close to the city centre of so easy walkable to the pubs and shops. My room was a decent size for 1 person, nice and comfortable, the only issue i can think of is the bathroom was a little small and hot water took quite a while to come through, Breakfast in the morning was also very nice, i will definitely stay again if I come back to Torquay.

Very friendly staff who made me feel very welcome, fuss free check in and out and the best value for money of any hotel I have ever stayed. Plus breakfast included with a great sea view.

We only stayed the one night, but we were happy with our brief stop over. Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice view to the sea.

Really clean and nice place to stay and very friendly owners I recommend for my friends and family.I will definitely be coming back.

Have to say this was one of the worst places i have stayed in and i do travel and stay in a lot of Hotels through my work.
Firstly I booked a room online and when arrived my room was changed without notifying me as i specifically didn't want bunk beds in the room for my children. I brought this up straight away but there was no apology or an offer of another room as a bus trip had arrived and that was the reason for the room change! It was said i had an upgraded room so waited to see the room.
The room was awful with handles on the doors in the bunk beds room off and looked like they had been vandalised, no door on the wardrobe which could fall apart if touched, shower with no power at all and temperature could go from cold to burn your skin off by a millimetre turn of the switch (The Wife and Children did not use the shower on the stay!) All plugs were coming off extension leads with a 3 plug socket coming from them which i turned off at night for the fear of fire hazard. Breakfast was cold and rushed! The final straw was having no sleep due to the Mattress and springs coming through into my backside and back!! I did address all these things but nothing was done. I also did hear after speaking to some of the people that came on the bus that they complained also about similar things with there room so this is not an isolated issue. I booked this Hotel after reading the reviews but as mentioned above have to admit this was one of the worst Hotels i have stayed in..

Lovely room but needs an upgrade… shower was rubbish just a trickle, water did not get hot, kettle only just reached the plug and had to remove it to be able to pour water, only 3 plug sockets one being used for kettle & tv and not sure the third worked at all! No privacy on balcony as just a railing between next door room could see straight through and into the room. Very noisy if people drinking downstairs on outside terrace, chairlift on stairs making it awkward to carry luggage upstairs. Breakfast good, staff friendly and helpful, lovely outlook and location just very outdated facilities

It wasn’t what I booked as it was different to what I booked. But we did get a good night sleep and breakfast was ok but small.But needs some work done in the rooms we had,(e.g not enough towels for a family of 4, cobwebs and door needs something for the gap in the main bathroom, other bathroom the door didn’t close. And needs a hoover under the double bed.) A part from this, it was a pleasant stay for the night with a nice pool

Quiet place, bonus was a swimming pool which our boys enjoyed a lot, extremely lovely owners ❤️

The owners where very nice and friendly - but the room was very dissapointing. Horrible bed, broken furniture and very tired bathroom. It was not like the images at all.

The owner Gary, his wife and staff are friendly and inviting. The hotel is a great location to walk into Torquay and enjoy their delights. Great breakfast, everything you needed.

We went as a family with our 2 children the owners and staff are so helpful from start to finish. Always greeting you with a smile and always willing to help.
The breakfast was amazing and the dinning room was so comfortable and clean. Our rooms were cleaned daily without having to ask. The car park always had room for our car. The hotel was within walking distance from the seafront and restaurants. Lovely swimming pool with a comfortable garden seating area.
We would definitely recommend staying her to everyone, family and friends.

The owners, Gary & Julie, were great people, but the stay just wasn't worth £180 per night

It was a nice stay , we got upgraded to a room with a sea view which was a nice surprise. Breakfast was good and very quick .

They promised free parking while booking but not enough parking spaces and the bed frame was shaking and making noises couldn’t sleep at all..The maintenance is very poor, You need to change all the shower towels it’s too old and dirty as well

Stayed One night before travelling for the ferry at Plymouth. Good beds, clean and excellent breakfast. Value for money and very welcoming.

Overall our stay was ok, our room was small but fine for 1 night. The beds were creaky so you heard every turn that was made during the night. The main disappointment was the shower room, it was uncomfortably tiny. There was a shelf above the sink, located very low down so washing your face or even brushing your teeth was a struggle. There was a very unpleasant smell that lingered throughout our stay. It definitely came from the drains, we kept the extractor fan on throughout the day and night. Cleanliness wasnt great, old toothpaste stuck to the plastic cups provided in the shower room, dust still lingered. What did make the stay nice was the staff, they were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Always spoke to you with a smile.
