Spend your money elsewhere on the island would be my advice
Pros:

The surroundings were great, some of the waiting staff were great. The area was beautiful. Basically Holbox was great, the hotel was not

Cons:

So much, throughly disappointed with the hotel and would never go back, facilities not good, gym; most equipment old/ not working/ dirty. Checked in to the room and the sheets were dirty. No apology when asked to be changed. One of the reasons we booked was for the spa, they closed this with no explanation for our stay even when we had booked treatments.
Rude front of house staff. The list goes on.

Pros:

Le cadre naturel est exceptionnel, couchers de soleil sur le lagon. On se reconnecte à l’essentiel dès l’arrivée. Le personnel est aux petits soins, et mention toute particulière pour Alberto, d’une gentillesse et d’une disponibilité remarquables. La gastronomie est à la hauteur : des saveurs locales travaillées avec soin, dans un cadre idyllique.

Il ristorante…. Il personale poco gentile e sopratutto inadatto per una struttura del genere con dei costi da 5🌟… parecchi dietro i banconi e gente pochissima… 45 min 50 min per fare colazione senza ospiti nei tavoli .. erano 8 persone che si guardavano e le cose le portavano a rate… il caffè americano è pi dopo 10 min dopo diverse richieste portavano il pane con la malrmellata per esempio .. inaccettabile.. servizio pessimo…

Pros:

The beach and pool area were amazing. Not busy but comfortable and spacious. There was always a restaurant or bar service available.

Cons:

While spacious the rooms are more conducive to just 2 guests as the bathtub and shower are not very private.

Needs a lot of improvement and reception staff were not that helpful
Pros:

The property itself is very spacious and beautiful, the beach/outside area is very nice and the breakfast was good.

Cons:

The rooms itself are quite outdated and require maintenance. I could not even take a proper shower as there was so little water coming out. I did address this to the staff but this was ignored. Prices for everything in the hotel are unnecessarily expensive and the staff serving dinner were very quick to ask for a tip. Breakfast staff were friendly however service was extremely slow- we waited nearly 40 minutes to get out bfast. They also do not provide free bottled water at the hotel which i think is a basic necessity- they tell you that the bathroom tap water can be used. Finally, as most of the reviews mention, you can hear a lot of noise in the rooms. I’ve noticed all negative reviews are being replied to with ‘your stay was from a year ago and we have since improved’- this is not the case as my stay is from March 2026.

Pros:

Wir hatten einen absolut traumhaften Aufenthalt im Aldea Kuká. Von A bis Z hat einfach alles gestimmt.

Die Lage ist perfekt und der Strandabschnitt ist mit Abstand der schönste auf ganz Holbox. Die gesamte Anlage ist unglaublich schön gestaltet, sehr stilvoll und gleichzeitig entspannt. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl.

Das Essen war hervorragend und hat unsere Erwartungen sogar übertroffen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir aber das Personal – alle waren extrem freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein.

Die Bungalows sind etwas hellhörig, was uns persönlich jedoch überhaupt nicht gestört hat. Wir haben trotzdem sehr gut geschlafen und uns rundum wohlgefühlt.

Wie es in der Hochsaison ist, können wir nicht beurteilen, aber für unseren Aufenthalt können wir klar sagen: Für uns ist das Aldea Kuká das schönste Hotel auf Holbox – und definitiv ein Ort, an den wir gerne zurückkehren würden.

It's a gorgeous hotel with lovely rooms and property, The swimming pool is off the charts!
Pros:

We loved the breakfast. It was super fresh and generous. Loved the location on the outskirts of town. The beach itself was never crowded and lovely. It wasn't hard to walk the beach into town either and was a fun activity.

Cons:

The only thing we didn't like was the techno, euro beat music that was sometimes playing from the restaurant. It wasn't necessary and could be annoying at times.

Alles in allem ein wirklich sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt
Pros:

Die Anlage war schon sehr schön und das Essen sehr gut.

Cons:

Preislich schon stark an der Obergrenze. Etwas aufwendig ist es jedem Morgen nach den Folgetassen Kaffee fragen zu müssen.

Cons:

Aldea Kuka is not exactly a 5-star hotel:

Noise/Disturbances: We came to relax, but have been subjected to loud construction noise (drilling and hammering) throughout the week. Other guests expressed us similar frustrations.

Dining Quality: disappointing, not a 5 star level. Food was not always well cooked, sometimes burnt, sometimes not as it should. Furthermore, the breakfast variety and quality do not reflect a 5-star standard. The fruit often appeared old.

Hygiene & Service: Tables in the breakfast and lounge areas are frequently sticky, and unfortunately attract flies. Additionally, the staff, while numerous, seem under-trained and inattentive to basic needs like sunbed assistance or coffee refills.

Beach and seaweed: Due to the whether, the beach has been full of seaweeds, and this happens, however, we noticed that the beaches nearby have been properly cleaned, and again that is not expected from a 5 stars hotel.

We've raised those comments to the hotel but nobody seemed interested.

Struttura di lusso con camere bellissime e decorazioni che fanno sentire un tutt’uno con il posto! La qualità del cibo offerto è inoltre di alto livello, tutto freschissimo e preparato con cura e al momento dallo chef.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach
Pros:

A friendly welcome when we arrived and we were given cool flannels and a refreshing drink after our travel. That was really nice. Checked in and wow, the room was stunning! Spacious, clean and well thought out. We loved the natural stone and wood aesthetic. The bed was huge and very comfortable, super soft sheets. Huge shower, basically bigger than our bathroom at home 😅 and the bath was big enough for two.
We were given a welcome drink on our first day - a mezcalita and then we had some tacos for lunch, cochinita pibil 🤤
Breakfasts were very pleasant, lovely fresh fruit and juice included. We also had a nice meal in the Japanese restaurant where the fish was super fresh. Staff are friendly and attentive.
The hotel is right on the beach so you get stunning views and it's really convenient to be so close. We took the morning yoga class and it was such a zen way to start the day, incense burning and calming music as you moved through various stretches.
All in all this hotel was really great.

Cons:

The comments from other guests about the lack of noise insulation are fair and accurate. You can hear your neighbours very easily, which can be a bit distracting. Our room seemed to struggle with the WiFi connection, but the rest of the hotel it was fine. So not really a huge issue.
