Pros:

The staff made the stay. Balfour was so understaffed yet they all worked together to ensure that everyone had a positive experience. The room was clean tidy and warm Nice bedding and comfortable beds. Location is outside the main area but a lovely walk into town and across the road from a bus stop.

Cons:

The room was above the band, which was loud. However we were well notified and despite the volume we only woke once Nice to hear 90s music and people having a great evening

Very nice stay, pleasant staff, great breakfast felt very comfortable would stay again

Room was clean, beds comfortable as well as the pillows, good quality bed linen
nice ensuite with soap and towels provided
TV was a good spec
Tea and coffee facilities were a welcome addition
Breakfast was great good quality ingredients - unlimited juice, toast, jam cereals and tea and coffee

Cons:

Its not that I didnt like the Balfour Arms - please bear in mind that this is a pub and so you will hear noise from downstairs and we were emailed about this prior to our arrival
As the letting rooms are upstairs if anyone has a mobility issues then these rooms may not be suitable for them - we didn't have a problem

Relaxed pub with good atmosphere.
Pros:

A relaxed and friendly traditional pub popular with the local community. We enjoyed an evening meal on a Saturday night with great atmosphere. Our bedroom at the front of the hotel (Connaught room) was very good with comfortable beds. The staff were all most willing to help when needed.

All was good.

Pros:

We had warm welcome and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and nice clean and comfortable. Parking was easy and all in all it was a good stay at a very good price

One of the friendliest and nicest places we have stayed at for a long time!
Pros:

All the staff, especially the lady who looked after us at breakfast, were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great - and trouble was taken to give us exactly what we wanted.
The room was really comfortable.
It really was excellent and we will be back

Cons:

It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit and more variety of bread or pastries for breakfast.
And we we were a bit disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t available on Sunday night
But they were little things…
