Overall very good value for money for our four night stay
Pros:

Good location, fairly quiet. A very good food choice and always presented well by very friendly staff

Cons:

Stairs to the bedrooms are steep and narrow and difficult with luggage unless you’re fully fit and able.

Pros:

Good friendly staff,the lady cleaning even stopped to make us a cup of tea at breakfast
Also the breakfast was really good, again the cook was very nice

The Balfour is a short walk from Sidmouth town centre and the staff were all very professional!
Pros:

Ian and Nate were very welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious!

Cons:

There was nothing not to like!😃

Pros:

Great place to stay. The accommodation was good, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We were just on an overnight stay after visiting a relative. We will definitely use the Balfour arms again on our next visit. 👍😃

Pros:

The bath room was very nice and clean.

Cons:

As we booked into the pub we were asked to pay, when I said we have paid through Booking.com I was asked to show my bank account proving it, I wasn't happy with that, I showed my email confirming payment. Then we were told there was a live band playing tonight and it would be loud! The band played until very late, right under our room making it impossible to get to sleep. Also one bed had a big dip in the middle.

Pros:

The staff was friendly although not really helpful.

Cons:

We had explicitely asked for a twin room, which was confirmed in writing, but we were given a room with a double bed and one large duvet. We asked for another duvet, which was not provided.
There were used towels in the room. One bedside lamp was missing. Everything looked a bit worn.
Breakfast was at 8.30h but nobody was there to attend us at first. The food was okay.
Overall we were glad to only be there for one night. We wouldn't stay there again.

Good value
Pros:

The room was generally OK and had a large screen tv on the wall,the bathroom was excellent. Staff were friendly and breakfast was plentiful with a coffee machine provided for self use. Good value for money, would recommend.

Cons:

Sadly the room desk top, which supports the hospitality tray, was not really clean, the glass cover was quite sticky.

Awful - please avoid
Cons:

Dreadful place. Gave us a double bed after booking a twin. Member of staff initiated very unhelpful. Very loud music and noisy guests outside till after midnight.
