Perfect location in old city - Balat. A lot of restaurants and grocery shops nearby, so you can be sure that you will find something to eat and drink. Just a short tram ride away are the main sight seeing places
The property was very clean
Very old, low quality linen, tiny uncomfortable sofa. The lights in the stairs has a very delayed timer so you are often walking in the dark
The location was excellent, right in the heart of Balat, making it very convenient to explore the historic side of Istanbul. The self check-in process was smooth, with the keys stored in a locked container in front of the door, which was a new and interesting experience for us.
The room design was also very nice and thoughtfully done. Additionally, there was a small electrical issue when we arrived, but it was fixed very quickly, which we really appreciated.
The floor is old, and some parts were damaged, which could be a safety concern. It also creaks a lot, especially at night, which can be disturbing when a child is asleep. The couch bed was uncomfortable, almost feeling like lying on the floor.
We had reserved a room based on the photos on Booking, expecting it to be on the 2nd floor, but we were given a room on the 3rd floor. With very narrow stairs, it was difficult to carry heavy suitcases up there. The room lighting was dim, which we are not used to, although a small battery-powered light helped a little.
The room was reserved for 3 people, but there were only 2 chairs at the table, which was not very practical. Overall, the apartment is fine for a short stay, but since we were planning a longer stay, we decided to move to a more convenient apartment.
If you are 2 people and planning a short stay, this apartment is acceptable.
La casa è molto bella. L'host risponde subito e risolve qualsiasi problema. Consiglio di soggiornare in questi appartamenti per visitare una delle città più belle al mondo.
L'armadio in stanza è un po' troppo vicino al letto rendendo difficoltoso il passaggio.

Lovely little studio on a quiet road in a great neibourhood. It felt so private being on the top floor and not overlooked by neighbours. Having the balcony was such a plus as it was shaded in the hot afternoon.
The balcony patio was very dusty and the we the many stairs were tiring after lots of wandering around Istanbul but overall I would recommend it.
The location was great in the middle of Balat and so closed to many amenities, a bus stop and the tram.
The flat wasn't great. There was paint that was chipping off the ceiling and that landed on the cooker. However the owner let us have another flat and although this also had its own issues (e.g. a broken cupboard) it was much better than the previous one in the sense that at least we could cook and use the cooker without the risk of food being contaminated with paint. I have to say that the owner did what he could to accommodate our needs. However, I don't think the flat was worth all the money we paid for a week
It was a great place to feel the essence of colorful Istanbul - with a lot of traditions, religions, cultures and history behind. Easy to make breakfast yourself or choose a Turkish breakfast from one of the numerous eateries around.

Nice and cozy appartments. Good place for long stay in the heart of Balat. However it’s hard to find car parking place on the street - the streets are very narrow
Excellent location, good access to public transportation and amenities like groceries and dining. Historical neighborhood, if a little run down. The host was friendly and responsive to all of our requests, and kept sure the apartment was cleaned regularly every week. Most facilities needed for extended stay were available.
The only major negative was the comfort of the bed. The frame was not sturdy and the quality of the mattress was below average. While fine for maybe 1-2 nights, it wasn't adequate for long stays. Other minor points would be the lack of a microwave oven and the location of the air conditioner, which would probably be more effective in the bedroom.
