Avoid Fors Hotel, Istanbul – Worst Experience of My Life

My stay at Fors Hotel, Istanbul, was extremely disappointing and unsafe for my family.

Illegal Overcharge & Threats – Upon check-in at midnight, the hotel demanded an additional 3,000 TL, threatening to cancel my booking if I refused. This was an illegal and coercive practice. Expedia later reimbursed me, but the hotel has never refunded this unlawful charge.

False Entry of Child Ages – I correctly booked for my children (ages 15 and 14), but the hotel falsely recorded them as “1-year-old” in their system to justify extra charges. This was dishonest and unacceptable.

False Breakfast Advertisement – The hotel falsely advertised breakfast to attract guests. In reality, it was extremely poor quality: a few thin cucumber slices, a piece of tomato, jelly, butter, cheap bread, coffee, and one unhealthy local item. This was inadequate and unhealthy, forcing my children to skip breakfast on several occasions.

Unsafe & Harmful to Türkiye’s Reputation – The overall treatment created an unsafe environment and damaged our trust as foreign visitors. If such practices continue, it will seriously harm Türkiye’s reputation as a family-friendly destination.

The WiFi didn't work and when I said this to the receptionist he was dismissive and did nothing to fix it.

The stay was ok. It is a budget hotel that satisfies needs for a short stay. The room was small but clean.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
I didn thave the breakfast so can't comment on it.

La verdad le pongo un 10 en todo, el personal son todos muy amables, tuve que cambiar de hotel huyendo de suciedad y discrepancia en limpieza y higiene y la verdad ese hotel para mí ha sido lo mejor. Muy cerca de todo, personal muy atento muy amable todo excelente, habitación cómoda y limpia.
No quiero más mil gracias por hacer mi estancia todo un lujo. Muy recomendable.
El desayuno es muy limitado me hubiera gustado tener más opciones para elegir café, bollería...pero está bien, no se puede pedir más.
Muy agradecida y mil gracias por todo.

It's surrounded by local popular restaurants and shops, but what I like most there is a mosque across Street from the hotel.
