Very pleasant environment for a good price
Pros:

The staff were very kind and helpful and the room was pleasant and clean. The cook prepared excellent food and served it with attention to detail.

Cons:

Part of the property was under renovation, which made the hotel not look as nice as it could be. Staircase was dirty and some ceilings needed to be painted

This hotel was just fine for a short stay; clean & near to the main road, but quiet; friendly staff
Pros:

The staff are very friendly, both owners and support staff. I really appreciated the tuk-tuk ride from the hotel to the bus station; our owner-driver refused to take any financial reward for this kindness!

Cons:

It would have been nice if one litre of cold water a day would have been provided as part of our stay. The doorway to the bathroom was extremely flimsy and fragile and difficult to open and to close.

Good budget choice
Pros:

Nice low key place on the outskirts of Chilaw. Had a place to store my bicycle, which is always a bonus. Good basic accommodation, clean and comfortable. Good aircon, good wifi. There is a supermarket 5 minute walk away.

Good value for money
Pros:

Lovely owner and staff. We arrived a day later than we booked for and the owner was very accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable and we got a lot of laundry done at very short notice which was wonderful. Would stay here again.

Cons:

Rooms could maybe do with a freshen up and there were a few mosquitoes in the room so a mosquito net would make a good addition 😊
