Our second stay at StayCozy Frankford, but will be our last.
Pros:

The location is near restaurants and the train. The facility is well appointed with a nice family room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice closets, washer/dryer. Nice guest soaps and lotions.

Cons:

The elevator and internet were not working when we arrived. We reached out to customer service and they had them repaired within a day, but only after our daughter, two granddaughters, my disabled husband and I carried our bags up five flights of stairs to our apt. The sofa sleeper (where our granddaughers were going to sleep was broken and had a bar in their back along with the lower level that slanted toward the floor. The facility is supposed to be non smoking, but the hallway always smelled like weed and cigarette smoke. The windows are very thin so the sounds from the busy street of Frankford were constant even on the fifth floor. The speaker on the television was broken. And the television was only usable if you used your personal streaming subscription. Further communication with customer service did not receive a response.

Do not be fooled into staying here.
Pros:

N/A

Cons:

Our stay here was anything but cozy. A more accurate description would be inconvenience on top of inconvenience, sprinkled with disappointment. Scrolling through the booking.com listing, of course only the glowing reviews were displayed which sealed the deal on our decision to get a seemingly lovely apartment rather than the usual hotel room. But right off the bat, our stay turned into a stress fueled week of misery. Although the listing boasts on site parking, that is false, and good luck trying to find any at all, especially on a weekend like when we arrived. All nearby lots were full and it took several times of driving around the block waiting for a street spot to open up before we could even arrive. We had not received anything regarding checking in/entrance to the building and our room, so after finally finding parking we had to spend 20 minutes on the phone getting that squared away, then call back again because they had provided an incorrect code to get into our room. Finally inside, we thought we would be relieved and able to de-stress after a hectic hour. Wrong. At first glance the apartment seemed okay. But walking around, settling in, there was a lot to notice. First of all, it was much less inviting and homey than the photos. Very bare bones, less decor and cozy items than pictured, leaving it a more sterile experience. Second of all, the cleanliness is just not there. There were crumbs and debris on surfaces in the kitchen. It appears that the floors have not been swept/vacuumed/mopped in some time and I felt gross just walking around. There are stains and marks EVERYWHERE; the walls, the doors, the couch, the tub, the shower curtain, the towels; the area rugs are absolutely disgusting and should be thrown out, and you can tell the brass fixtures are not being cleaned with the proper product because they are all marked up and dull.

Intown apartment in the middle of Philly's hip Fishtown a great home base for enjoying the city.
Pros:

The unit was indeed a full apartment. Fantastic kitchen, two bedrooms, laundry, etc. It was all there. Clean as a whistle and amazingly easy to access from the street. Perfect sized unit for a solo traveler, couple or small family. It is 2 or 3 blocks from the train, which opens up the entire city to you. But you may just want to stay put and enjoy Fishtown. There are so many restaurants, clubs, bars, etc. within walking distance. Right across the street is an amazing pizza joint. Within a small walk are local joints, national chains and everyting in between. And the roof! Go up there at sunset and just enjoy watching the city slip into nighttime.

Cons:

There is the street noise. Being three floors off the street, you hear pretty much everything. Conversations, car engines, emergency vehicles, car horns, AND everyones favorite music. Every evening I was treated to a cornucopia of musical tastes. Cars will drive by sharing their favorite song with you and the rest of the street AT FULL BLAST. Early 90s dance music? Check. So So Def All Stars greatest hits? Check. Jay Z? Madonna? Other rap artists I have never heard before? Check, check and check! It does lend to the in-town vibe of the apartment. But, while the apartment building "quit time" starts at 10 - that certainly does not apply to the music coming from the streets below! :)
