Ace Hotel Kyoto

The Ace Hotel was overall amazing. Very clean and spacious rooms especially for Japan. The shower pressure and shower room was great. Hotel is one block from the subway line which makes it very convenient when getting to Kyoto attractions. The restaurants in the hotel were also great but a bit pricey.
The only warning I would give to travelers is the loud music from the lobby. It is obviously a the Ace Hotel’s vibe, but seemed a bit odd to have a loud DJ in the lobby while people were working on laptops. You can’t hear it from the rooms or anything, just a bit much when you go from the quiet Kyoto streets to music blasting.
Overall, the Ace Hotel was a phenomenal stay and we would not hesitate booking there again!

Cool modern hotel but far to noisy reception area and very uncomfortable beds (small doble beds and worse pillows ever)

Did not like decor especially black ceiling in room but service and staff were excellent. We did like location

Nicely designed property in a good location HOWEVER the cleaning (or lack of) of the room was unacceptable, when reported to the front desk, their response too was unacceptable.
We were considering to stay longer but after our bad experience (2 nights, 2 rooms) decided to go somewhere else.
For the price- go somewhere else, really not worth it!

An excellent choice for our stay in Kyoto! Highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel in a great location.

This hotel is phenomenal! It's a great location, has a beautiful interior, and is attached to fabulous shopping and restaurants. It is the perfect place to land in Kyoto!

I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel
As a family of four from Canada, it was unbelievable
Rooms were much bigger than the other hotels we found and there was so much to do
Young cool vibe in the lobby, with great music paying and a young friendly hip staff working all around.
Coffee shop was amazing, we had the lates and breakfast croissant and it was perfect for breakfast
Lots of amazing little restaurants and shops in walking distance and the train is right there beside the hotel and it’s super convenient to get to.
We hit the taco restaurant for happy hour and had delicious margaritas and chips and guac which was a nice touch and a change from all the traditional Japanese fair (not that we didn’t love all the Japanese food)
1800 yen cab ride to the temple and shopping district
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

Simply the best. Loved absolutely everything, never wanted to leave!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ace Hotel - it was exactly what we were looking for. The facility is nice and clean. Great place for young adults to stay. There's a nice coffee shop in the lobby. Located a bit out of the main area, so you get a slightly quiter/local feel while still being very close to many of the attractions like the street market, vintage shopping area, and can walk to the pontocho alley / river if wanted.

Gorgeous hotel walking distance to Shinjuku Station as well as numerous restaurants and shops. Also walkable to Meiji Jingu. Breakfast was delicious. Great experience, would book again.

The vibe of this place is unmatched.

Location in Kyoto is perfect for anyone wanting to walk around the newer city as well as to the old.

So many shrines and temples within walking distance or a short ride away.

Dining options were delicious, staff was incredible, we will be staying here during our next visit to Kyoto.

Everything was fine, but the internet was extremely slow. Not ideal for business travel.

Hotel is in a great location with lots of restaurants and bars nearby to explore. Rooms a spacious and comfortable. Breakfast included with our room package was great, very filling.
