Pros:

Love the grounds and the staff. Have stayed at Hotel San Jose a number of times and it is one of my favorite experiences every time. A little oasis of lush tranquility in the heart of everything. The staff is always amazing, warm and friendly. The margs at the bar are great and Joe's is the perfect coffee amenity.

Cons:

The technology (tv and bluetooth radio,) aren't easy to get connected to your devices. I went down to the front desk and asked how to get it to work but she wasn't sure. Not a big deal but it's a low hanging fruit fix. Maybe include the instructions on how to get connected to both on the check in card?

Stay here when in Austin
Pros:

Hotel San José is very cool and price worthy. The location is the best in Austin as it is close enough to downtown but also offers a lot within close reach.

Hotel San Jose is a MUST STAY
Pros:

Hotel San Jose can't be beat. The overall vibe is like taking a step back into time when customer service was truly personal. The staff was friendly and responsive. Comprised of only 40 or so rooms, all positioned around an intimate courtyard and pool shaded with towered trees and surrounded with lush landsscaping, the property feels very private. However, it's smack dab in the middle of South Congress making shopping and dining ultra convenient. No doubt we will be making a stay here an annual tradition.

San Jose Hotel is one of the very best of Austin!
Pros:

The San Jose Hotel is a beautiful, pet friendly, business friendly environment. It is also a peaceful, quiet, serene space in the heart of Austin's eclectic and vibrant South Congress area. It blends the comforts of a traditional hotel with a personalized, very Austin vibe. You can enjoy delicious snacks in a vibrant patio setting and walk right down the street to some of Austin's best venues, shopping and restaurants. The San Jose is a local institution and feels like home!
