Kona Tiki Hotel - No Resort Fees

We booked a last minute stay here so I could pick up my husband from the airport and not have to drive during the Kona Lo storm. The hotel sustained some flooding but the staff dealt with it in a prompt and friendly manner, and overall we felt like we were in safe hands during this extreme weather event. The view from the patio was extremely beautiful and the room was spacious and well appointed!

We booked the Kona Tiki Hotel to relax before flying home - no TV and no A/C - just the sounds and breeze of the lapping ocean waves and smell of salt air. Well - best laid plans: the Kona low storm came in and had its own agenda. After a very stormy and sleepless night because of the winds and rain, we headed out. But not before seeing manager Ellie and her housekeeping team working diligently cleaning up debris and sweeping up streams of rainwater. They were genuinely concerned about our safety and quality of our stay. Aside from the unprecedented storm, our stay would have been exactly what we had hoped: the room was very simply and attractively appointed with everything we could have needed. The sliding glass doors did quiet the sound of the crashing waves, the bed and bedding were quite comfy, and we barely heard any of the neighboring guests. Because of the storm, we did not access the pool or outdoor areas, but it looked like they had some nice amenities - including sunscreens, snorkel gear, beach chairs. The parking was tight but doable, and the location was within walking distance to plenty of local shops/eateries. We would definitely recommend the Kona Tiki Hotel and thanks again to Ellie and staff.

Great location nice and quite

We stayed here for four nights. What a great stay! The staff, especially, Elle, were very helpful! She answered all our questions, and gave us helpful information to make our stay more enjoyable.

We can’t wait to come back again.

Ocean views were spectacular

The Kon Tiki is all about location location… each room has a beautiful view.
The staff was attentive, kind & polite. It was super clean & shiny. I didn’t realize I had a kitchen and it was perfect. I ran up the street grabbed a few eggs and we had breakfast and coffee in our room on the lanai.
The pool at this hotel exceeds my expectations. I do not necessarily like a chlorinated swimming pool. This was a natural pool utilizing the ocean with such beautiful saltwater to swim.
The views from this hotel and sunsets are amazing.
It’s very walkable everything is close by we see no reason to stay anywhere else when we return to Kona

I could hear the ocean waves from my room with the softest sheets on the bed. Free trolley into Kailua Village. Staff super friendly and they have beach gear to lend out!

Ocean sound at night. Quiet and clean. No AC was a non-issue. No TV great!

Amazing views and great location. Easy walking distance to a beach, restaurants, shopping and easy drive to other area attractions.

This motel is all about the location. The views of the ocean and of sunset are incredible. You can also walk to Kona from here but are far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle.

My room had definitely seen better days and needs a refresh. If nothing else, it needs a really deep clean, especially the shower which was gross.

The free parking was useful (not possible for large cars) and the pool was also lovely. The key press entry for rooms is also convenient as you can skip checkin.
