Wow, wow, wow.

We initially had some hesitation about booking this hotel because it was a bit more expensive than other options in the area, and the aesthetic wasn't exactly our personal style. That said, we would absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

The service was simply incredible and left us speechless. We were celebrating both our honeymoon and my husband's 40th birthday, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel special from the moment we arrived. They maintained constant communication through WhatsApp, checking in to make sure our room was comfortable and offering assistance with anything we needed.

The hotel itself is spotless, comfortable, and perfectly located. The food was delicious, the cocktails were strong (in the best way!), and every aspect of the property was exceptionally well maintained.

What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people.

We stayed for five nights and took a cruise to Ha Long Bay during part of our trip. While away, we genuinely missed being at Peridot. Then, on what we thought was our departure day, we traveled to the airport only to discover that our flight was actually scheduled for the following day. We were stressed, exhausted, and honestly pretty distraught.

When we contacted the hotel to see if they could accommodate us for an additional night, they didn't just help—they went above and beyond. Their kindness, empathy, and willingness to help turned a very stressful situation into a manageable one.

A special thank you to Jess, Sam, Julie, and the entire team. Your professionalism, warmth, and genuine care made all the difference. This hotel knows exactly how to deliver exceptional hospitality, and that is invaluable when traveling.

100/100 would recommend. We can't wait to return.

Jess, our attendant at the front desk, offered excellent support and suggestions for places to go that really made our trip special. The hotel itself is fantastic. Great food, great rooms, everyone is ready to help with anything you might need. We had an amazing time staying here and would do it again.

Don’t use the towels unless you want to be accused of stealing

Location is the key feature. Near to all things. Breakfast staff excellent and the breakfast.

Cons:

We paid for 3 rooms and one was a luxury suite. The view from the window was a wall. Ask for a higher floor. For a 5 star hotel it lacks finesse Door concierge hit or miss, turn down service 1/3 rooms only. Mini bar paid and not updated daily. Old bottles of water left in room. But the crowning glory was the checkout process. Not slick and embarrassing. When you leave expect them to walkie talkie the housekeeper who checks the rooms. This is a lengthy process and we had to explain if we had had an additional soft drink. Well they would know this if they checked daily. But the classic was being accused of taking a face cloth. They managed all of this in a 5 minute check. We told them all SIX items of towels were in the bath. The Front of House receptionist saw I was so shocked at this. That she then proceeded to say don’t worry about it. However, even after being accused of theft for a face cloth. They added the charge for it to my bill and then deducted it again. They said don’t worry but you have accused me of taking something!!!!!! I told them to open all my cases in the lobby but they declined. In all my years in 5 star hotels I have never had this before. I thought I was being treated like a prisoner staying in a prison cell with my view but also the way I was released/paroled from prison.

Overall very good, I loved the service at this hotel.
Pros:

Peridot is a boutique hotel in Old Quarter, you can access different areas such as shopping and other sight seeing via Grab, it cost around 33-36,000 VND which is very cheap. Staff are amazing, the service at the hotel is excellent. You would want to be on the higher levels for a reasonable view, anything below level 5 has obstructed view with only views of the next door buildings and rooftops which is not pleasant. Room service is great, you have daily house keeping so you return to a clean room with beds made up. The Spa is also great.
