Old Building but still nice and comfortable
Pros:

This is the oldest hotel in Belitung. The interior quite old but well maintaning. The room services is too good for such hotel. They also provide triple bed room. I think it is a plus point for this hotel from budget efficiency view.hehehhe..The breakfast is also quite good.
The other view is the ambience is quite spooky at night so better for you to travel in group or couple then.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in
Pros:

This is the worst hotel I have had the misfortune of staying in. I have included some photogrpahs which I think tell most of the story. The bathroom was the worst aspect, with a leaking roof and being just grim sums it up. The bed sheets were not clean and smelt damp and the air conditioning did not work to cap it all off. Dusty, dirty and old is one way of summing up the bedroom. The entrance area is the best bit of the hotel that I saw, but that was not saying too much either.

As for food, the only thing I can say is that I minimised what I ate there for breakfast and perhaps that saved me from being ill. One night was one night too many. Budget traveller or not, be warned you may be better looking elsewhere.

Restaurant is a total disappointment
Pros:

Martani Hotel is actually a budget hotel, judging from its condition. But the service is really not worth the price. I won't recommend this hotel to you, dear backpackers. Just ordering a mie instan, I have to wait more than an hour! Thank God they served a proper meal in the morning.
The good thing about Martani is their cleanliness is quite satisfying for me. The lobby was quite large and the couches were really comfy. I hope they will put a smoking prohibition sign there, someday.
Well, make your choice

Dont book this hotel
Pros:

Dont book this hotel without seeing the rooms first. I know its an old hotel, but when i checked in, the disapointment is unbearable.. The air in the room is not fresh. the VIP double room has a very old and dusty fabric sofa, i wouldn't sit on it. the bed is good enough. lots of mosquitoes. Local tv channel only. The Air conditioner is not cold, just like a fan, we protested to the staff and they opened 3 other rooms and check the air conditioner, and they said thats normal, all the AC just spray wind. Come on.. AC suppose to spray cold wind.. otherwise its called a fan.. We couldn't stay, but they told us to pay full price because we booked it before. Really? they want us to pay for it? its their fault for not maintaining their facility so quests can stay. and Its not like they are fully booked, lots of empty rooms.. its not even value for money, for US$15 more, you can have a room at 4 star hotel near the beach.. with free wifi, cold AC, decent sofa, and no mosquitoes. We just left the hotel, didnt pay a dime.. DONT ever booked this before seeing the rooms first.. seriously..
Location wise, the hotel is near market "gang kim ting" .

Terrible experience
Pros:

The hotel was said to be the oldest hotel in Belitong. And its shown. Cracks on the wall paint, water stain, small insects from giant cockroaches to small spiders, reeks of old bed sheet, broken aircon, broken tv remote, broken telephone, etc etc. The food served in their restaurant is cold, tasted horrible. My friend had a pudding that has gone bad. The staffs weren't really helpful, can't say they're rude either. The bathroom is almost acceptable. The only good thing about it is just the size of the room. Totally not worth it.

1st hotel in Belitung, old but in good condition, great location
Pros:

We stayed here for 3 nights during our stay in Belitung. This is an old hotel and I will say some people maybe doesn't want to stay here at the first look.

But the room is clean and big, all the equipments work properly. The AC is in excellent condition (it is important in Belitung), hot water is flow, the breakfast was average , the laundry price is very cheap and the staff are very friendly.

Walking distance to the traditional market, Mie Atep, traditional coffee shop, and all the city attraction.

Very good value, definitely will be back.

Good alternative for budget travelers
Pros:

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in August 2012, booked the junior standard room by phone about 3 weeks in advance. The hotel is the oldest on the island and the age is clearly shown on the room I slept in. The aircon is a bit noisy. There is no warm water. Breakfast is average, no variation. But, it was good enough for me as all I need is a clean place to crash after being out exploring the whole day. And the hotel gives just that. They have newer, renovated rooms with higher rates if you need higher level of comfort.
