Perfect location , very clean and comfortable
It’s a lovely building !! Perfect location
Location, staff, cleanliness and friendliness. Breakfast was of a very high standard and the service was excellent too.
A really easy, comfortable and well located stay. Family run business where all the staff were super friendly. Would 100% stay again.
I don't think there was anything I didn't like
Location is fab - easy walking distance to the town centre. Staff were all great and very helpful
Bathroom was quite tired with cracks in the sink + tiles. Bed + pillows weren't the comfiest
Staff very friendly and helpful, great breakfast choice and managed to get parked
Up several flights of stairs, only one chair, shower unit needs attention and opposite a night club
Did not have breakfast
Welcoming staff. Clean and quiet room, handy for central Salisbury. Good breakfast. Very good restaurant on site.
Dark room.
Very convenient for the city centre. A very easy walk and I have limited mobility at 81. The room was very quiet.
Lack of a lift. We liked the hotel and the city of Salisbury. so we decided to stay another two nights. Unfortunately, we had to vacate our room on the ground floor. We were given another room but on the first floor which was accessed only by several steep stairs. However, with some difficulty, I managed.
Location was good and we were going to Stonehenge which was 20 minutes away
Good price
Parking held about 10 cars so had to park on the street, free after 6 pm Saturday
All the staff were welcoming, helpful and professional. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was central and convenient. We enjoyed the breakfast very much. Hot food was cooked fresh, and curries were available on three evenings a week.
Because it's a listed building, there is no lift. This was not a problem for us, but anyone who is less mobile should ask for a ground floor room.
Perfect location
great staff
lovely breakfast

Breakfast at the Merchant's House is always lovely. You choose the way you want your eggs then help yourself to the hot buffet. Would like to see vegetarian sausages available. The cold cereal/fruit selection is also good.
The beds are comfy, lovely big room, great to have a bath as well as a shower. All very clean.
Being able to park at the hotel is great as it's right in the city centre.
This was our 5th visit to the Merchant's House, and I'm sure there'll be lots more!
There's nothing to not like!!
Room was clean
1) there was no lift and this information is not on booking.com - luckily they were able to change my room from 3rd floor to the ground floor.
2) the wall heater/air conditioning unit was noisy and above the headboard
3) disturbed by activity in corridor outside during the night & then noise of some sort of delivery at 5 am
