Just Fine: A Balanced Stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Kalamazoo Downtown

The Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Kalamazoo provided an adequate stay, hitting all the necessary marks without offering much in the way of memorable excitement.

The Good: The room itself was generally clean, modern, and the bedding was comfortable—standard Hilton Garden Inn quality. I appreciated having the mini-fridge and microwave, which are always handy. The staff at the 24-hour front desk were always friendly and efficient during check-in and check-out, which certainly helps when you're on a schedule.

The Alright: The amenities were fine. I was a bit disappointed that the breakfast was not free. While the food at the on-site Garden Grille was satisfactory.

Room for Improvement: A few minor things prevented this from being a great stay. The room I received had double beds when I made reservations for a single King sized bed. The room overlooked the garage making the space feel darker than expected. Additionally, the parking fee of $20.00 dollars per night was a huge inconvenience.

Hilton was very nice.
Pros:

Great hotel. Comfortable beds and pillows. Riom was huge. Right down town. Good bar and food. The continental breakfast was like $12, kind if thought that should be included with your stay but oh well.
