We never wanted to leave the Montage and we will be back. It is the epitome of elegant contemporary hospitality and is appointed with the best in amenities. Every part of the resort is top notch. The property is spectacular and the staff are friendly, gracious and jump to your every need.
Beautiful property in a stunning, scenic setting. The staff were warm and friendly throughout our stay, the service was very good, and we especially enjoyed the relaxed bar area. A peaceful and enjoyable stay in Healdsburg.

Pluses….great location, spacious luxurious accommodations and bathrooms, restaurant was better than a well reviewed one in town, beautiful setting. Will definitely return.
Misses….cabanas at the pool cost an additional $450, even at 4pm, when empty. Men get the jobs of ferrying guests to their rooms, so the women on staff don’t get the good tip jobs! In the guest cottages, it would be helpful if the shades rolled up from the bottom vs the top, to ensure privacy and light!
Excellent experience. Outstanding accommodations with world class service. I would not recommend Hazel Hill restaurant for vegetarians
One of the best hotel experiences we've had in the United States. The property is amazing and the hotel rooms are among the best (make sure to get a room with an outdoor shower) we've stayed at. The experience at Hazel Hill and the food quality was top notch. They've got a new chef and the quality of the food was amazing. Service was exceptional.
Incredibly expensive for a dated room. Was expecting some level of sophistication for the price.
Be mindful rooms are inter-connecting which is not ok if you are unrelated to your neighbours.
Had the joy of seeing doggy
Bags left outside as we entered our room. Was woken up by doors slamming and a barking dog next door.
$50 for parking which was not disclosed.
$1600 for a room and staff are wearing jean.
Food was ok at Hazel Hill but at $600 for 2 including wine but no dessert is on the steep side.
Our stay at Montage Healdsburg was honestly one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had. The service was on another level from the moment we arrived. Every single staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome, remembered our names, and genuinely seemed happy to help with anything we needed. It never felt forced—it just felt like everyone truly cared.
We stayed in a Vineyard View Studio, and it was absolutely beautiful. Waking up to the vineyard with wildlife wandering by in the mornings was such a peaceful way to start each day. The entire property is pristine, quiet, and feels incredibly private and relaxing.
The people really made this place special. Kyle at the bar, Sissy at the pool bar, and Johnny and Charlie providing poolside service were all amazing. Everyone was approachable, friendly, and so easy to chat with—it felt like we were catching up with friends by the end of our stay.
The spa was top-notch. Our massages were incredible, and one thing we really appreciated throughout the resort was that nothing ever felt crowded. We never had trouble getting a table at Hazel Hill, and every meal was outstanding. Benjamin took great care of us, and on the rare occasion something wasn't quite right with an order, it was corrected immediately with kindness and professionalism.
We also loved taking advantage of the complimentary shuttle service and the onsite Cadillacs—they made getting around so easy and were such a thoughtful touch.
After three days, we truly felt at home and honestly didn't want to leave. Montage Healdsburg has set the bar for what luxury hospitality should feel like. We can't wait to come back.
New and stylish proper hotel with good design, service, and atmosphere.

Wonderful resort to stay while in Sonoma County. Loved everything about this place: the staff, the accommodations, the amenities, and the restaurant.
The town of Healdsburg was great too. Look forward to returning as well as looking at other Montage properties for accommodations when traveling.
nice location, solid rooms, good food, friendly staff.
i stayed here 3 times in the last couple of months. location is great, rooms are solid, service is at times slow but food is great once it arrives! front desk and billing are very undertrained. we've been charged 3x of what is on the bill, guest for who we were paying got charged to their cards instead of mine. we're 10 days, multiple in person visits to the lobby, many emails and phone calls. it somehow seems more complex to them than nasa moon mission. i live almost full time in 5 star hotels for the last 5 years and i've never encountered such a mess.

An absolutely gorgeous hotel. We stayed in a suite with a full wall of windows looking into the treetops. We watched birds and deer from our fire pit on the room's balcony. The landscaping and gardens throughout the property are on point.
The room itself is very stylish and large. It was spacious enough for a pullout couch for our kid, without feeling cramped. Even with the couch pulled out there was a table, lounge chair, and the outdoor sofas on the balcony.
The only downside is that it is very loud at night on weekends from weddings. We weren't even that close to the wedding and it was still hard to fall asleep from the music. My son tossed and turned, and I absolutely couldn't fall asleep. I think I would only come back mid-week or if I could get a cabin even further away from the main resort house (although then it would be an even longer uphill walk).
A beautiful resort but our stay spoiled by poor service by the front desk team. After providing card for incidentals I noticed two charges on my card the first morning. I questioned the front desk who said it was an error due to the card my travel company had not processed so they charged us instead without pre-approval.
We contacted the travel company who spoke to the hotel, both assured us this was resolved. At checkout we once again got reassurance the refund would happen & no further charges. The next day we had a third charge for valet parking then a fourth charge for the entire hotel stay. Over $2,000 dollars taken without our consent, no apology & now we are talking to the travel company to try to get a refund.
Our stay at Montage Healdsburg was absolutely unforgettable. This was our first stay at a Montage property and we will without a doubt be staying at more.
From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The receptionist changed our room at our first request as I was expecting an outdoor shower and our original room did not have one! The property itself is stunning — peaceful, beautifully designed, and perfectly integrated into the natural surroundings within the vines.
The rooms were spacious, luxurious, and incredibly comfortable, especially the outdoor shower and the balcony with a fireplace! We loved the breathtaking vineyard views, the adults only pool, relaxing atmosphere, and exceptional amenities throughout the resort.
The bar service in the lobby was outstanding, breakfasts were delicious and the staff consistently went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. Whether it was relaxing by the pool (heated) enjoying the spa-steam room was lovely, or simply taking in the scenery, hiking on property..every moment felt like a true escape.
Montage Healdsburg exceeded our expectations in every way, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxury wine country getaway.
Special thanks to front desk, valet and housekeeping who always had a smile on their faces and made our stay special!
Everything was amazing!!!!!!! Everything, location, food, rooms, staff!!!!! Gorgeous property!!
Nothing
Gorgeous property! The vineyard views are worth the visit alone and the room has all the amenities
It was beautiful and room was very nice.
The weight staff in the bar and restaurant were not attentive and friendly. Service at the New Year’s Eve dinner was very poor. The person that recommended our wine was very rude.
Lovely property and quick family weekend away that felt like it was farther than from SF than it was. The staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Beautiful location (even in winter) and well appointed rooms, though be aware that many of the guest rooms are far from the lobby / restaurant building and pool / fitness facilities and require a cart shuttle or a long walk.
The actual service level was inconsistent as many other reviewers have noted. It was either 5-star or 3-star over my three night stay, and mostly 3-star when a conference or other special event was occurring. If you are looking for a 5-star experience, before you even book your room, consider avoiding special event days by double-checking with the hotel itself and also making advance reservations at Hazel Hill restaurant.
Here is an example from my stay:
Without any prior notice to hotel guests at booking or check-in, nor signage being placed anywhere, Hazel Hill restaurant was closed to hotel guests at dinnertime due to a private event. Without knowing what was going on, confused guests wandered into the restaurant that couldn't serve them. The awkward workaround was for Hazel Hill staff to verbally divert guests to the lobby bar for a more limited menu (either the bar menu or in-room dining menu). However, the lobby seating is quite limited and primarily being hunched over low coffee tables, and the outside tables weren't a practical option in cold weather. If you had booked a room expecting dinner at Hazel Hill, you would have been badly disappointed.
The next morning for breakfast, Hazel Hill restaurant was again closed without warning or signage to "set up" for a private event, so hotel guests were crammed into the lobby to make due. This time, at least some proper tables had been moved in from the restaurant itself, but not enough.
The wait staff were professional and apologetic about both situations, but the Front Desk staff seemed indifferent to what was going on and just stared at their computer monitors or phones. That was a massive missed service opportunity, and it bothered me more than the restaurant being closed. Other guests also seemed flustered.
In general, most of the other hotel staff were consistently excellent throughout the stay. The Front Desk ranged from fantastic to what is noted above.
The Montage is an absolutely gorgeous property and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The Concierge that created our vineyard tours was exceptional
