Do not pay extra for the "Mountain View". (see photo)
Pros:

The resort is close to Park City, which is a beautiful location, and the atmosphere in the lobby area was open and relaxing.

Cons:

My check-in experience was among the worst I've had. The initial contact was perfunctory at best. However, I had booked a room with a mountain view, and upon entering my room I found that it was at ground level looking at the parking lot (two floors directly below the room from which I took the photo). When I went back to the front desk to suggest that there must have been some mistake, I was told that I had not paid for the room, that it was complimentary with the equestrian group (??), and that that was my assigned room. I suggested again that there had been a mistake, since I had no idea what she was talking about and I had booked my room through Booking.com (showing her my receipt of payment), but the only response I received was: "Well, then you'll just have to reach out to that third-party vendor."
After I retreated to the admittedly open, relaxing lobby area to find the Booking.com contact information, she called me back to the desk to say that she had found another available room and gave me keys to the room from which the photo was taken. Having just driven 10 hours to get there, I was too tired to press the issue further.
The Park City area has spectacular mountain views worth paying a bit extra for. If my room indicated what the Black Rock Mountain Resort considered such a view, I caution my fellow travelers against paying extra for the experience.

Pros:

Comfy bed

Cons:

The receptionist, in our checking were told that we can do a late check out an hour later that won’t be an issue, we used had to call. Then next morning we called and the second receptionist said, that is impossible and we will get charged if we passed the 11:00 am check out. When you pay $400 at night, this is ridiculous.
Also, I called to ask for extra blankets, we never got them. We have to come to the lobby to request in person.

The fire alarm went off for over an hour one night from 2-3am. The staff didn't say anything, and the management of the situation was very poor

Pros:

I received no VIP benefits. Our room was next to a noisy mechanical room. There was one washcloth in a room meant to sleep four. Carpet was stained. Not a single chair in the room. Towel hook was broken. Positives: the ceilings were high.
