One of my favorite escapes - the property is beautiful and so well maintained. I felt instantly relaxed from start to finish - it’s the quality of staff, food, and surrounding nature that really did it for me
The Deluxe Chalet at UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge was a great choice for our five-people group. It is in a nice quiet location around the lake. Beautiful, well kept facility and extremely friendly staff. The campus is not near the village and other shops and restaurants. The dining hours of the restaurant are a bit restrictive . Overall great fun experience.
The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge staff are amazing. They genuinely care about ensuring the guests have a great experience and have everything they need. The food is excellent. No need to find a restaurant. No need to leave the beautiful and picturesque grounds. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and far more spacious that hotel rooms. What a charming and relaxing location.
We loved the grounds, service and value! Lots of activities - pickle ball tennis, basketball, volleyball, a nice big grassy area and pool/jacuzzi.
The staff are wonderful, super nice and helpful. The lodge food is good too! Much nicer than expected.
I had originally planned to stay at another hotel, but due to a power outage I needed to adjust my plans at the last minute. Before making the drive, I called and spoke with Tatihana at UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge. She kindly confirmed that they had power and were fully operational, which gave me tremendous peace of mind given the winter conditions.
When I arrived, there was an active snowstorm with significant snow drifts, icy pathways, and strong winds. Stepping into the lobby felt like immediate relief. The fireplace was lit, hot tea and hot chocolate were available, and the bar and restaurant were still open. After navigating the mountain roads in those conditions, the warmth and welcoming atmosphere were deeply appreciated. The staff throughout the lodge were genuinely kind and accommodating.
When I attempted to get to my room, I realized that navigating icy stairs with a large suitcase was more difficult than expected. The conditions made it challenging to access the room, and I needed to request a change. Tatihana handled the situation with remarkable patience and professionalism. She never once conveyed frustration and instead focused entirely on ensuring I was comfortable.
Tyler was also incredibly helpful. He personally brought a new key out to me to assist with the room relocation, which made the transition much smoother during the storm. His prompt assistance and willingness to step in meant a great deal in that moment.
Tatihana continued to ensure that I was placed in a room that suited my needs and checked to make sure I was fully satisfied. Her composure, kindness, and attentiveness truly stood out. In the midst of severe weather, their teamwork and care transformed what could have been a stressful situation into a genuinely positive and cozy experience.
I am sincerely grateful for the warmth, responsiveness, and hospitality shown during my stay.
Location was great. Rooms were nice. We took advantage of a Travelzoo discount, making our trip very affordable. Staff were so nice.
Love this place - definitely coming again!
Unfortunately, the food in Tavern didn’t meet expectations, and the coffee was quite disappointing. I’d recommend improving the menu and overall quality to make the experience feel more delicious and professional, but overall I love this place.
We were rained in our entire stay early in the new year, and there was no snow anywhere on the mountain, which could have made for a very disappointing trip. But our deluxe chalet was so cozy that we enjoyed staying in by the fireplace, reading and playing boardgames. We did get out to the arts & crafts workshop and watched a movie in the lodge to mix it up a bit. The food in the dining hall and tavern was delicious. All staff - from front desk to arts & crafts to dining servers to the young man who came and showed me how to light the fireplace - were super friendly and helpful. The lodge is considered a UCLA campus so it is gratuity-free, which makes the warm service even more outstanding. We will definitely return - thank you!
Best vacation spot for families with young children in Southern California. An absolute gem. It’s not your typical resort so don’t go there expecting 5-star hotel amenities or staff to wait on you. Instead you’ll feel like you’re at an old-fashioned lodge and staff who are kind and treat you like family. If you visit make sure you do your part and care for the property and amenities..a lot of the charm comes from the communal games and activities. And bring cash to tip the staff (it’s not an option on the credit card or room charge due to affiliation with UCLA).
Beautiful weekend getaway for work retreat. Rain permitted enjoyment of the well keep premises. Unfortunately the food quality has deteriorated over the last few years . The table style service presentation and quantity is not appreciated
No tvs, nature was beautiful, lodge was great! Area full of activities and things to do !
No parking close to lodge
We go annually for a medical conference and it always goes well. Service is always friendly, and the catering team is top notch. The rooms have that rustic touch, no TVs, for example, but they do have WiFi.
Beautiful property. Many activities for visitors of all ages and abilities. Rooms are comfortable with some modern features.
definitely the place we choose when staying in Lake Arrowhead. Friendly staff, great food, clean rooms, and much to do.
Todo estuvo perfecto
No me gustó que no hubiera mucha variación en el meno de buffet, pero lo poco que hubo estuvo muy rico
I stayed at the property for a company retreat. Everything was wonderful, the grounds were beautiful and were maintained and there was a lot to do in the free time. I would definitely visit again.
