The property is older but clean and well maintained. There are several different restaurants on site but they all use the same menu. The food is quite good, and the breakfast buffet that comes with most rooms has a good variety of items and good quality.
Our main concern was the noise levels. The first night we were there, they had a DJ playing full blast in the pool area until nearly 5 am. I asked the front desk twice to lower the volume levels. They turned it down a bit for a while but it was soon just as loud as before. The second night the DJ was contained to the sound-proof bar and it was much better.
Even during the day there is a lot of noise. The pools and various restaurants all have music blaring, and it seems like they are trying to play their music over top of the others. If that wasn't enough, occasionally the grocery store at the bottom of the street has a DJ blasting music, which competes with the others. Our room was at the front of the building where the noise is worse. If you are troubled by noise, insist on a room on the other side of the building.
Except for the grocery store (which was always crowded and 6 people deep at each checkout) there is nothing else walkable from the resort. We did not feel safe venturing any further than the store.
Staff was friendly, obliging and mostly helpful except for noise-related complaints.
Enjoyable stay, probably the best option in Murang'a.
Pros: The facilities were clean and secure. Supermarket located just outside. Good food, reasonably priced. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: can be a bit noisy (near a main road and nightclub just outside the front of the building).
Friendly staff. Food and service was great. Was impressed with the cocktails John made us. Only thing I would add is that you request rooms at the back of the property since the rooms in the front can be noisy from outside especially if you are a light sleeper.
Great location.
This property is not in Sagana instead, instead it is smack in the middle of bustling Murang'a town. Why Expedia would list it as being in sagana i have no idea. Sagana is more of a resort town with activities like water rafting, canoeing, bungie jumping n the likes and Muranga is a farming town with little activities for visitors. Therefore you can understand my disappointment when i drove to sagana only to call the hotel and be informed that i have to drive to muranga which is another 45 minutes to 1 hour.
That being said I didn't stay at the hotel much since I made the trip to sagana every day and only went back to sleep. I had breakfast there for the two days and it was great. The room was very clean though very hot with no air conditioning.
