Breakfast and location were superb and all of the staff very pleasant and helpful.

The rooms could do with a bit of a refresh
the location was excellent. The breakfast choice was very good, we opted for the full english which was absolutely delicious.

Drink prices was hit and miss £8 and a few pence for a large white wine and soda is nearly double the price of a pub just across the road hence why I only had 1 drink each night in hotel
We did find out that 1 of the other hotels across the road did give 15% off food and drink if you were stopping there may be could offer some kind of discount if staying here

Amazing location in heart of Whitby with unique views of the harbour and famous swing bridge. Dolphin is a good old fashioned pub. Breakfast, without being exceptional, was tasty and wholesome.

The location is good, next to the bridge, but there is some traffic noise. The room was spacious.
There is no parking at the hotel and the closest parking lot at Church Street has very limited space. The shower was so bad, with mold all over that we did not use it.
I slept very well in the comfortable bed.

The room had a nice big window which allowed us to have as much fresh air as we needed.
The room was clean enough but little details let it down e.g. the soap dispenser was covered in soap, the toilet roll holder was dusty and the shower suffered from a little bit of mildew. We had quite a lot of luggage as we were on a long trip so it took a lot of effort to drag it up the stairs to the second floor.
When we arrived, there was nowhere to park, so we had to park half a mile away and walk but I should imagine that is a problem in Whitby generally.
Breakfast was good, as ever. We have stayed here many times, due its excellent central location and the views over the harbour from our room.
The Dolphin is a busy venue, justifiably so. Inevitably some fittings or appliances may need attention between room bookings, difficult in the time available. Cleanliness is excellent.

One of the widows in the room sign saying do not open as broken and awaiting repair. Widow opens over outside terrace so if opened and fell off what are consequences
One tea bag and no milk in room
Reception is at bar so when pub busy have to queue with those waiting for drinks and difficult to communicate as noisy sports pub
Terrace outside is very noisy and attracts parties
Room cold and no heating
Steps to get into pub, steps to toilets, stairs ti rooms and no lift so not limited mobility or disabled friendly
Internet non existent but apparently same in most of Whitby
Pub not serving food even though advertised as such

The room had the light fittings dangling dangerously. The shower head did not stay in position and the bed was extremely hard.
