Short and sweet would come back

It was a negative experience that ended well thanks to the manager/owner quickly refunding our money.
Pros:

Truthfully only the woman in the front checking me in. Perhaps she was the owner or manager. She was very kind and quick to offer me a refund

Cons:

As soon we walked in the room we could tell we wouldn’t be able to stay the night. The floors were sticky, the sheets were stained, there was an odor and we found a dead roach in the fridge.

The mattress was terrible, you could feel the metal coils. The mattress was sitting on top of homemade wooden or metal square box. The scenery was terrible.

Health violations galore!

Upon arrival I was given a room key and one employee said "isn't that the room with a broken door?" OK, the lady checking me in forgot. She assigned me another room. Upon opening the door I was hit with a strong smell of cannabis and a strong musty smell. Visible debris was on the filthy carpets, drawers were open and the beds were askew on the frames. The pillow cases had visible stains and beds were poorly made. This was all seen within seconds, I never fully entered the room. When I went back to the office, I informed them the room was terrible and we would not be staying. I wasn't rude nor were they. A young man went to check the room and came back saying it was bad. A lady folding laundry in the office said the smell was probably from the last tenant and his golden retriever. I was informed they could not give me a refund, would have to go through booking.com. I just agreed and left. This property needs to be closed down by the health department and taken off any booking sites.

Convenient place , nice staff, nice price . Needs some work on cleanliness would stay again

- the toilet had pee on it
- a towel and wash cloth had something brown dirty stuff on it
- the coffee pot was left dirty
- hair stuck to the wall of the shower
- the wall/doors were visibly dirty from previous guests / hands / drip marks on the doors
