Nova Boutique Hotel

We recently spent 1 night at the Nova Boutique Hotel in the family suite; an airport stopover before being collected the following day for transfer to our Eastern Cape game reserve.

The positives..
-Close proximity to the airport.
-Nice modern building with a lovely reception and bar area.
-Friendly helpful manager (Justice).
-Lovely breakfast room serving a really good breakfast with lots of cooked options and fabulous coffee.
-Extremely comfortable beds and nice bedding.
-A short taxi ride away from numerous dining options.

The negatives..
-We booked almost a year before our stay, provided flight details, and reconfirmed our collection from the airport several times leading up to our arrival. Despite this nobody met us at the airport, so we were left feeling panicked arriving in an unfamiliar city. This was our 1st stop in SA. An airport representative helped and was eventually able to reach the hotel after several attempts, and the owners did eventually come to collect us. They were a friendly couple, but it seemed odd, and slightly rude, that they didn't once apologise for having forgotten us.
-The 2 bed family suite was a separate area at the back of the main building, and although large, it was very run down and dirty. It was definitely not worth the price paid (approx £200 for the night!)
-2 bedside lamps, but just for show.. there were no plug sockets for them!
-No plug sockets or lights by the dressing table. I ended up plugging my hair straighteners in the kitchen with no mirror to use.
-Very dirty under the edge of the rugs, and dirty, mouldy bathrooms. The curtains were also filthy with what appeared to be muddy hand prints! If we hadn't have been in an unfamiliar city , we'd have left without spending the night.

We did look upstairs in the main building at the gym on the morning of our departure, and a number of bedroom doors were open. Whilst we didn't venture inside they did look nice and in complete contrast to the room we'd been allocated. Whilst I definitely couldn't recommend the family suite, the main rooms at least did look ok from the small glimpse we had, and can only assume they were based on the other glowing reviews.

Fabulous location near the airport and in a quiet and peaceful road. Lovely contemporary unique boutique Hotel with a very special feel based on a unique “universe" theme. The rooms are furnished to a very high standard, ours was “Indus” and was really comfortable, clean and had several complimentary gifts e.g nibbles, biscuits. The owner was charming and super helpful: After a pick up mix up, she personally collected us from the airport and gave us a warm and friendly welcome. Her team were lovely and breakfast was superb - so many hot and cold choices and both our breakfasts were delicious and well cooked. We had arrived after a long flights from London to Jo’berg, immediately followed by flight direct to Port Elizabeth and couldn’t have wished for a better first couple of nights to start our holiday. The hotel recommended several restaurants and activities and gave us confidence to use Uber. We also went for the Addo Elephant safari - wouldn’t have missed it and the Braai was excellent.

Whether you're here for an early morning flight or planning to stay a few days to explore the region, Nova Boutique Hotel is the perfect choice for you. This modern-style hotel offers spacious accommodations and large rooms equipped with every comfort for guests. A fantastic breakfast completes the positive experience. Don't hesitate to stay here.

I recently stayed at this charming hotel, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. The owners went above and beyond to ensure our comfort.

When I fell unwell during our stay, they immediately offered assistance. Not only did they provide thoughtful recommendations for nearby medical services, but they also personally drove us to the pharmacy. Their kindness and genuine concern made all the difference.

Rooms spacious and superclean.
Very nice breakfast, hot and cold.
Owners are very friendly and operate free airport pickups.
All in all a perfect location to stay.

PS.: Nice restaurants quickly to get to by UBER.

Myself and my family stayed at the Nova Boutique hotel in March 2024 for one night (unfortunately) as we wished we had booked for longer. This hotel is absolutely amazing! Very modern and clean. Beautiful beds and amazing bathrooms. The staff are the kindest most welcoming people and nothing is too much for them! Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Superb family run hotel with large rooms, plenty of space and wonderful breakfast.
It was a cool day so we loved the heated swimming pool. Friendly interesting owners.
Handy for the Airport, Summerstrand, Walmer and Kragga Kamma. Will stay here again.

Beautiful designed boutique hotel with exceptional customer service. We had to rush for a flight so gutted to miss breakfast as the menu was outstanding! Thank you for such a lovely experience. Excellent location for the airport, 3 minutes away in a quiet area!

Nova is a beautifully equipped, family run, luxury hotel that's only a 5 min drive from the airport. Everything about the hotel emphasises the owners commitment to delivering a high quality, personalised experience. We were met at reception by the two owners, offered a complementary liqueur whilst checking in and given an upgrade to a huge room with coffee machine, fridge and kitchen area (to be fair, all the rooms are very large). The hotel has secure parking, a bar, heated pool, sauna & spa and the breakfast menu is first class. What really makes this place special though are the people - every staff member was enthusiastic, engaging and made you feel genuinely welcome.

Definitely our best hotel in all of South Africa! We spent three days there and would have liked to stay longer. The equipment is modern, everything is clean, the breakfast is delicious and the staff and owners are very friendly, courteous and helpful. We received comprehensive help with any concerns. The hotel has ~ 14 rooms, which is why everything can be individually designed. We can really recommend the hotel to everyone. Many thanks again to Kevin, Gale and also Justice.

A great place to stay in Port Elizabeth. Large and clean rooms, huge bathroom. Although it's very close to the airport, it's calm. Very friendly and helful staff! There is also a pool, and additional services as massage can be ordered.

This is a 5 Star++ hotel. probably the best in Port Elizabeth. The Hotel is new and beautifully designed and furnished. The hotel is family run and Gayle and her staff will go to exceptional lengths to ensure that you enjoy your stay and to help in every possible way.
The breakfast menu is wonderful and the food is delicious. There is a wonderful pool and spa where you can relax. This is a real gem and the place to stay when in Port Elizabeth.

Nova was such a find! Lovely area in Walmer, a few minutes drive from the airport.

The rooms and interior design of the hotel were beautifully done. The detail and thought that went into the space theme was "out of this world". The room was also huge and felt extremely luxurious.

It was exceptional service - Justice, who was front of house made sure we had everything we need and was a delight to deal with. And we met the owners too who were absolutely lovely. They gave us a lift to the airport on our departing morning at 6.30am, after making us breakfast including homemade croissants baked that day!

We also got massages in the spa which were excellent and reasonably priced.

The hotel felt very safe. Overall a hugely positive experience and we would recommend.

What a find……. Exceptional and welcoming! Justice, Gayle and Kevin fabulous friendly people, very professional and efficient. Hotel spotless, well equipped, would highly recommend and certainly will revisit when we are back in PE.

We stayed at Nova Boutique hotel for a weekend with all our family for a wedding. The hotel is very close to the airport. The rooms were well equipped and spotless. They have a generator so we were not affected by load shedding. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and served quickly. It is a great hotel.

We rented three room and stayed two nights at Nova. Gail and Justice were extremely professional. The service was excellent, the rooms extremely clean. They went out of their way to make us feel at home, always ready to assist. The breakfast was delicious! Thank you.

Short version:
Book with Nova when you visit Port Elisabeth. You won't find more welcoming and modern accommodation.

More details:
Staff and management are extremely friendly and helpful. They even helped us with a recommendation for a very good restaurant in the area and took care of reservations and transportation. We were picked up on time at the airport with a nice and spacious German car that fit our large luggage. The hotel is only 2 minutes down the street. It has a very modern and appealing space and moon landing theme and is decorated with great attention to detail. The rooms are spacious and clean. There is plenty of room to unpack and a comfortable bed to rest in. The bathroom is very large and has everything you need. A big shower, a bathtub, more than enough towels and good cleaning products too. We slept like a baby and were shuttled to the airport very early in the morning. Even that early we were offered breakfast, but we declined gratefully and enjoyed a wonderful cup of cappuccino instead. Although it was a very short stay in nøva, we can definitely recommend this place and would like to thank Gale, her husband and the wonderful staff for a very pleasant experience.

What a gem we found in PE. I would highly recommend this to everyone. Kevin and Gayle run an unbelievable establishment. Best place to stay in PE
