This hotel is in a very good location away from the crowds but with easy access to the main area of Protaras Fig tree bay etc. There is a lovely beach a five minute walk away from the hotel, and various bars and restaurants also a short walk away the pool area is also a pleasant place to be,it is family friendly and the food is of very good quality and plentiful this hotel i would say is suitable for all ages and groups, all staff and management are friendly and approachable. The rooms are comfortable and clean as are the communal areas. There is also lots of parking space if a car is hired.
Nice hotel very clean and shiney breakfast very good large choice all perfectly adequate for us..staff generally fine one or two grumpy faces ..not much in the way of entertainment…nice pool and surroundings..some four posters which are nice and comfy…my only gripe is the relentless loud music pumping out all day from the outdoor bar area…I don’t mind a bit of music but not when it’s loud and in your face…as a result of this we spent most days on the beach…what is it with some hotels who think we all want to be bombarded with loud music…?…dear management think about your guests ..I suspect most people would prefer a bit of peace…I would return to this hotel but because of that loud music you won’t be seeing me here again
Good location with amazing coastline, friendly atmosphere at the hotel, rooms clean and tidy, good variety of tasty food. Receptionists efficient and very helpful, especially Jolita.
Great experience 👍
I would say that this is a nice hotel with Two major drawbacks, the restaurant area is very small and although the food is tasty the choice is limited. Location is a-bit off the beaten track. Bed a-bit small and room also smallish…rest was fine
We have returned from a lovely holiday. It was amazing to get some October sunshine! The positives definitely outweighed the negatives at the hotel.
Positives:
- Easy to get a sun bed
- Food buffet is fairly small but food is varied and not repeated each day
- Food is hot and always replenished
- Rooms are spacious and modern
- Most staff are friendly in the bar and restaurant
- Hotel is clean
- Location is pretty good. Short walk to the beach and about a 10/15 min walk to Protaras
- We arrived late at night so having a sandwich and water in the room was a nice touch
- Pool bar service for snacks and drinks was always quick
- Good variety of cocktails
Negatives (which are only minor may I add):
- Sun beds quite close together in some areas around the pool
- Pool is very cold and definitely not heated
- Not enough staff in the main restaurant as we always had to get up and ask to get served drinks and you had to always ask for tables to get cleaned and set up before you sat down. Sometimes there weren’t enough glasses either and we were served wine with our dinner in a plastic cup
- It was a shame that if you’re all inclusive, the snack bar only runs from 10-12 then 3-5 because it would be nice to have some of the food options for lunch rather than only having the buffet each day. Most all inclusive hotels you go to have a snack bar or buffet for lunch so that option would be good here too
- I would bring your own hairdryer as it’s not very powerful and it’s also a bit dangerous as my hair got sucked into it and I had to cut it out!
Tip: Make sure you have cash on you as pool towels are a ten euro cash only deposit each.
Overall, we had a great time and we would return again.
The hotel is exceptionally clean, but unfortunately that’s where the positives ended for us.
We found the staff to be quite rude and unhelpful. Reception staff rarely acknowledged us, and even ignored my 5-year-old daughter when she said goodbye several times. In the dining area, there were very few staff around and absolutely no customer service — during our 5-night stay, no one ever cleared our plates, so we ended up doing it ourselves.
The food was very limited and honestly not great for what’s meant to be a 4-star hotel. The drinks at the pool bar were poor quality, with flat beer, and the snack bar food (which cost us €80) tasted like cheap frozen items — often burnt or very dry. Plates were left full, yet no one asked if everything was okay. It just felt like the staff didn’t care.
The pool area itself is nice with plenty of sunbeds, but the water is freezing and there are no showers around the pool. The gym was also disappointing — none of the equipment worked and, again, no showers available.
The lifts at this hotel are constantly out of order atleast twice a day they didn’t work, great to lose a few holiday pounds up and down the stairs, but not great if you’re on a high floor.
On our last day, we asked for a late checkout since our pickup wasn’t until 6:30pm, but they couldn’t accommodate. When we asked for somewhere to freshen up, we were told to use an open luggage room, which wasn’t ideal.
Overall, I wouldn’t return to this hotel. It’s in a lovely area though — just far enough from the main town to relax, but close enough to enjoy a bit of nightlife if you want to.
We stayed here for 5 nights and wouldn't recommend or return.
On the positive side - our bedroom was really lovely, modern and the bed was very comfortable. The lady who cleaned our room was polite and she thoroughly cleaned our room daily.
There are a few downsides though - the breakfast is basic especially the fruit, or rather tinned peaches, tinned pineapple and tinned fruit cocktail. There were some fresh oranges but not presented well at all.
The gym is a joke. It is a room in the basement with no window, no towels, no water and no air-con on. There are a couple of weight machines but the treadmill isn't working nor is the bike which isn't even secured to the ground so kept moving around.
The complimentary changing room to use / we were on a late flight, had no plugs or aircon or windows so it was baking hot. Note to the Manager - if you offer this service then switch the air-con on!!
Outside, the music was far too loud and on for 10 hours each day......
Staff on reception weren't helpful at all - and after reading a different review below, I was very polite in my request but they simply weren't interested to help.
We stayed as a family in October and honestly, it was really disappointing. The food with the half board was terrible, mostly reheated and completely tasteless. The salads and fruit looked like they’d been sitting there for days.
We tried the Palm Tree Bar one afternoon, thinking it might be better, but it wasn’t. The music was loud, the food was awful – the pizza tasted old and the wraps weren’t much better.
The whole place just had Benidorm vibes, not what we were expecting at all. Definitely wouldn’t go back.
It’s a pretty hotel. Smaller than I’m used to, there’s no shop inside the hotel but there is a supermarket down the road which is open u til midnight
We booked a swim up bungalow the room is lovely, spacious and bright. The sun finally comes around about 1pm ish but you can move the sun beds around to get the sun earlier.
The only thing I’d suggest is to make these adults only, unfortunately we spent out week next to a family with small children which took the “adult couples holiday” feel away from us, the distraction of having kids next door (who should have been in school) did not make for a relaxing time and did not justify the extra money we paid for the room.
All inclusive is hit and miss, we haven’t used it at lunch instead used the bar snacks as found the food there to be great. Breakfast is the normal continental, hot food as well as pancakes and waffles. The evenings meals are interesting, we are by no way fussy eaters and I’ll try anything but there have been nights I’ve struggled to put a meal together.
The staff, some are lovely, others are fed up and you can tell. The one girl on the bar looks at you like she would stab you in your sleep, the restaurant staff are either running round like headless chickens or have no interest in anything.
Entertainment in the evening is 3 nights of live singers, the rest is bingo followed by karaoke and we can’t forget mini disco at 8.30pm - baby shark will forever be ingrained in my mind.
Protarus is €2 each on the bus a nice town with plenty of shops and places to eat with a beautiful beach.
What fascinates me the most is that bottled water is not included in the all inclusive, a glass of water is but a bottle is €2.80
A few tweaks here and there and this would be a great hotel but unfortunately the food and staff moods just didn’t live up to what we expected for the price we paid.
Overall if you get a cheap deal then this is a good base for a hotel, but after paying over £2500 for a week I wouldn’t come back to this hotel which is a shame because it does have some good points
Nice pool, lots of sunbeds, so no need to wake up too early. Comfy bed
As returning guests we couldn’t have been looked after any better . From arrival everyone was so friendly and it always feels like coming home . We spent 6 weeks here , 2 weeks in the beautiful room 620 then 4 weeks in the swim up bungalow room 006. Spotlessly clean on both . Big shout out to the cleaning team. Restaurant team always busy , friendly and efficient , bar staff and helpers are a delight , absolutely love them all and will miss the banter and laughs. Tommy , Christos and management you have got an amazing hotel here Reception day and night staff are truly the best . Little things to think of as improvements would be iced coffee on the all inclusive, ice cream in the restaurant with the desserts, full length mirrors in the rooms and bedside tables with drawers or storage , more entertainment choices of an evening ( same acts every week got a bit monotonous ) … apart from that this hotel is one I return to again and again . Thanks for another wonderful holiday and see you all next season xxx
We got home early hours of this morning, hotel is modernly decorated throughout. All staff are friendly - seen a few reviews of people complaining about bar staff being unfriendly and can only presume those people weren't treating them with kindness and the respect they deserve. Pool area is lovely. Cleaners do a great job in the rooms and around the hotel, as it was spotless and the older lifeguard is also a lovely man. We had a great stay.
Never seen entertainment at night as went out and there wasn't loads during the day but the water polo was a huge hit. All the food we had was also great too, would recommend this place.
it was our first visit to pernera after usually staying in Protaras - rooms were ideal & clean & great for the sun all day if it’s a pool view room - we always managed to get a sun-bed even at 10-11 in the morning - the pool bar staff were fab - we didn’t really stay in at night as we went into the Protaras strip which was about a 30 minute walk away (the only downfall is it is unlit & pitch black at night so we had to use our phone lights ) - u can use the bus though which is 3 euro per person after 9 pm at night - the only minor thing which wasn’t too great was the food choice for breakfast as it was the same every day & was a Bit repetitive after being there for 10 days - we are unsure if we would stay again even though the hotel is great as it is probably more convenient for us to stay in Protaras as we spent most of our evenings there as pernera is a bit too quiet for us - the only plus point is I’ve probably lost a few pounds as we walked over 28 miles back & forth to the strip over our 10 day stay !!
Just returned after our 4th visit, as always exceptionally clean and friendly, all staff as usual where brilliant especially androniki (amazing lady) on reception, monika (she makes us laugh) and max (nice guy) on pool bar. Always feel welcome and looked after.... See ya'll soon
Another return to this fabulous hotel. The staff as usual were fabulous and are always friendly and go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. Special mention to Nikki at reception who is a ray of sunshine and delt with our requirements in a professional and exceptional manner with her wonderfully friendly approach, she is an exceptional member of the team!
As always, Max, Monica, Isabella, Andreas and the rest of the team were like family and treated us so well. The rooms are still looking fresh and clean and the new swimming pool is a delight. The only addition that is much needed is the addition of iced coffee and Frappes in the all inclusive package as this is standard for the price point at other high end hotels we have visited. Tommy and the management should be very proud of the ‘family’ of staff that they have created at this hotel, it is the number one reason we visit regularly. Well done to all at Bohemian Gardens! We’ll see you soon for another wonderful stay! ❤️
