The Bohemian Gardens is a very welcoming hotel. . The rooms are immaculate with daily cleaning if you wish.
The food is excellent always a good choice for breakfast dinner and evening meal. The maître D it’s very nice and welcoming when you go for your meals. All the staff are friendly and ready to help. One staff member stood out to us, thank you, Buddha.
The pool is kept very clean and lovely plenty of sun lounges and umbrellas,so you don’t need to save it with a towel. This was our second year here and we will be coming back next year thank you so much for making our stay special.
We are here currently and I have got to say this is one of the best all inclusive hotels I have ever stayed in. From the moment you check in you become one of the bohemian gardens family.
The rooms are modern with tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a small but adequate fridge. The rooms are cleaned every day to a very high standard.
The pool area is brilliant spotlesdly clean without doubt the most comfortable loungers o have had the fortune to lie and the weather is superb you pray for the occasional cloud around 3pm.....
Now we get the the jewel in the crown the Staff, food and drink. As i said as soon as you check in you are part of the family.
The staff are very helpful always happy to help and always have a smile on there faces even in such high temperatures.
The food in the restaurant is the best I have ever had in an AI hotel not the biggest choice (not like chain hotels, RIU, Barcelona. etc) but what is there is top quality and there is plenty of it and always hot.
We have also eaten at the poolside snack bar which is believe or not also amazing.
Special mention to the ladies in the pool bar who work so hard Evelina and Izabella plus so many others
Must also mention the man who holds it all together Matre de, Demetris a genuinely nice man nothing is to much for him always a warming smile greets you
Will I come back a definite YES
Will I recommend friends and family definitely
hi we have just returned from the bohemian gardens and this is my review . The pick from airport went well , the only thing was we had quite a few picks ups, so actually took nearly 2 hours to get there . So on arrival i was very impressed the reception area was amazing clean , the staff really helpful and polite , si we get to my room again pleased as it was modern and very clean we had pool view ( just anyone who as fear of heights not good as the balcony glass ) so bar and restaurant again amazing clean , the food wasnt great for me lots of fish dishes ( ok if u like seafood etc ) so i tried other meat dishes these i found very very salty and over cooked and dry , the staff was pleasant but struggled a bit with english but was happy to serve , no the bar area again spotless but the drinks not great ! the beers etc seemed watered down and the diet coke was awful it was so bad i had to go to the supermarket and buy cans in , rather defeats the idea of all inclusive really . So the pool area so very very clean the sunbeds really nice and had padded comfortable cushions was nice a waiter came round to serve not seen that in ages ! but my biggest issue was this hotel allows smoking even tho its strictly banned in public places in cypress , this was disgusting not just odd cigerette was loads round constantly smoking and clouds of smoke from vaping passive smoking kills and there children round too i have emailed the hotel expressing my concerns . so the other issue was the noise in the hotel loud music and people coming in very late being very loud ( yes i no everyones on hol ) but this was every night . so the hotel i think is quite far back from protoras i think a good 30 mins walk so we got taxi down €10/12 each way close to hotel is a couple of bars and supermarkets also 7 min walk there is a small beach . so all in all a nice hotel but i would not go there again
Loved the swim up bungalow
Before you think about booking your stay at the Bohemian Gardens Hotel I strongly suggest you read this review.
Myself and my wife's stay had several positives, but also a number of issues that affected the overall experience. We stayed for 11 nights on half board. Importantly, to the disappointment of ourselves and other guests, the hotel no longer allows swapping dinner for lunch on half board, with no explanation given other than its just 'the way things are in the hotels in the area'. This wasn't anywhere on any reviews or websites at the time of booking which was inconvenient to say the least. You must pay a deposit of 10 euros per towel for the sunbeds, also you pay for the safe every day however the lady on the front desk was lovely and due to our complaints she gave us the code for free.
Service & Staff:
The Hotel Staff were generally polite and well-mannered at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, communication was often difficult due to limited English, which led to repeated issues with incorrect drink orders and awkward exchanges. Countless times we asked can we pay now for our drinks at Dinner and they say yes but never come back to receive payment and we have to repeat ourselves. One time guests next to us had the exact same situations and asked to pay now and then when the waitress came back later, she said it already was put on the room, to which they awkwardly said okay its fine, then when after she left they were unhappy with the situation.
On one occasion even the manager had to step in and translate our request for a specific type of wine they offered on the menu. Reception staff, on the other hand, were very helpful and understood us - especially when we had issues with bugs in our original room, as they quickly moved us to a different one. They also gave us free lunch tickets as compensation.
Breakfast:
Breakfast was okay, consisting of the typical eggs sausages and beans etc but there were pastries which were extremely poor quality being so tough and almost frozen together being possible to pick up 4 in one. Furthermore, despite signage suggesting pancakes and waffles are always available, it is random on which days they will actually offer certain items, which caused confusion and disappointment for some guests. If you choose to sit outside (which we did every time) small birds reside in the roofing of the nearby apartment rooms which will, and do, eat unattended food rather quickly, so you can’t leave any food at your table or you will be suggested by friendly hotel guests to pass on the plated up food (happens more than you'd think).
Lunch:
We only experienced it twice however it had a decent selection of food some of which was also the same as Dinner but cant really complain too much here.
Dinner:
The afternoon dinner selection wise was pretty good consisting of meats, fishes and local Cypriot/Greek dishes. Sometimes myself and my partner tasted breakfast foods such as egg in some dishes which shouldn't of tasted this way at all, almost as if the dishes surfaces were not cleaned well enough which is an allergen issue. The labels on the food were almost always wrong, so if you have allergies be very careful as it might not be chicken or a specific sauce even as its translated wrong.
The availability of free water in the hotel is non existent and is really odd that its treated like gold dust. At dinner time and lunch time (for the twice occasions we went to lunch) tap water is not available for free. We tried to fill our water bottle up at the water dispenser in the restaurant but were rudely told no. Even down at the pool bar, if you aren't on full board its impossible to get water for free and must pay 2.80 euros for a 2 litre bottle. When we don't want to pay for drinks every day and night, which they state is compulsory for non All Inclusive guests, the least they can do is offer an alternative. It creates quite a disconnect for half board/BnB guests with the hotel. Even a water fountain in the reception would be a great improvement.
Facilities:
The gym was awfully ventilated with non-functional air conditioning, making it uncomfortable to use. When we asked, we were advised to come back and ask reception or housekeeping to switch it on each time we want to workout, which was impractical. The gym itself consisted of a bench with a barbell, a cable set alongside a dumbbell rack. Not amazing but was okay for our stay. The hotel has a good pool and some really comfortable sun loungers which are thickly padded. Plenty of sun loungers to choose from too. There is table tennis and a 2 euro billiards table. The rooms have a hairdryer and provide towels and hand soap. The beds were comfy too.
Cleanliness Issues:
We experienced bad issues with spiders crawling over the top corners of the room and dead beetles under the bedside table, all in the initial room we were put in, although this was quickly resolved after being moved into a clean room. There was also a strong pungent smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor coming from the maître d’ room on multiple occasions and spread into the luggage room areas, which is off putting, lazy and should be addressed.
Location
The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from centre of Protaras. The surrounding area to the west and south is quite barren, with open land and ongoing development of villas and houses, so it feels somewhat isolated, however there is a nice short walk across to the 'Potami' beach on the east side, which you can easily access by going through the back of the Papantonia Hotel Apartments. There are actually quite a few more beaches along the coast which are well worth checking out, one being Fig Tree Bay which is a popular spot.
Overall
A stay with some positives, particularly helpful reception staff and decent food, but several operational and policy issues—especially around drinks, communication, and facilities—detracted from the overall experience. Will we come to the BGH again...probably not because we feel we have completed Protaras however there isnt really anything which draws us back to this hotel. Its okay but nothing incredible.
This was our second stay at Bohemian Gardens, and after such a fantastic experience last year, returning was an easy decision.
Upon arrival, we were allocated a room on the first floor, directly opposite the lift and overlooking the car park above reception. Unfortunately, this made our first night quite unpleasant due to the noise. As we arrived late in the evening, we spoke to reception the following morning and they kindly arranged a room change for us, which we greatly appreciated.
We were also welcomed back with a complimentary fruit platter and a bottle of wine, which was a lovely touch and made us feel genuinely valued as returning guests.
As this was our second visit, we knew what to expect when it came to the food, and once again, we were not disappointed. Breakfast offered plenty of choice to suit all tastes, while the evening meals were varied, fresh, and of excellent quality. There was always something different to try, and the standard remained consistently high throughout our stay.
The upgraded sunbeds were another highlight this year. Best of all, there were no sunbed wars! Guests could enjoy a relaxed start to the day without having to reserve loungers at dawn with towels.
I'd also like to recognise the incredibly hardworking staff, particularly the bar team. One Nepalese lady stood out for her exceptional service, making the best frappés and mojitos. She seemed to be there from early morning until closing time every day and always had a smile on her face.
The only area that fell short for us was the animation team. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm and communication. Activities were often set up without any explanation or encouragement for guests to get involved. For example, games around the pool appeared briefly before being packed away, and aqua aerobics sessions started without guests really knowing what was happening. A little more energy and interaction would have made a big difference.
The evening entertainment was also a bit hit-and-miss. Some of the singers were fantastic and created a great atmosphere. However, the karaoke night was disappointing due to poor sound quality, and it ended very quickly as a result.
Despite these minor issues, we had another wonderful stay at Bohemian Gardens. The excellent food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, and overall value for money continue to make it a place we would happily return to and recommend to others.
Lovely hotel with a lot of plus points but some minus they definitely need to work on. Firstly the plus. Clean and new hotel, rooms are adequate and lifts either end of hotel and in middle so never waiting too long, maids are great, very professional and the electronic clean my room or do not disturb buttons are brilliant, we were half board only made breakfast once as like a lie in lol, breakfast was ok, evening meals were standard, draught lager was awful but i do find that in most bars in Cyprus. Pool area awesome never struggled for a sunbed and these are deluxe sunbeds, so comfy, great location with station bar opposite which we spent most nights in, pernera 15 min walk (house of lithos best live music) or protaras 20 min walk which we didn’t bother with much. Staff here are lovely no issues.
Ok minus points. Only 2 The animation team (2 young girls) and entertainment i get the animation team are young and probably first time doing this job but its not for them. No get up and go whatsoever, hotel states activities during day but they do not happen, one girl only ever appears in the day, puts stuff out ie goal net, swimming noodles, ball then disappears, doesn’t interact with anyone so no one knows whats happening, then 20 mins later collects equipment in? Then on the evening, quiz/karaoke, music is quiet and only one mic 🎤 so hardly anyone bothers! Only saw one singer on one night for 20 mins she was ok but then again no introduction she just started singing lol.
This needs addressing as it would be difference to me coming back or not
We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a pleasant holiday, although there are a few areas that need improvement.
The rooms were standard and nice enough, with tea and coffee facilities, a kettle and a mini fridge provided. We had a pool-facing room, which was lovely. The rooms were cleaned daily, however housekeeping could be improved. On one occasion, after I accidentally spilled tea on the bed sheet, the sheet appeared to be turned around rather than replaced.
Our biggest disappointment came on arrival. We had booked and paid for a double room but found two single beds pushed together instead. When we spoke to reception, we were met with a sarcastic response and told that we should have requested a double bed before arrival, as all rooms are set up with single beds as standard. The issue was eventually addressed by adding a double mattress topper, but we were still given two single duvets. This entire interaction could have been avoided if the room had simply been arranged as booked in the first place.
The standout feature of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff from Singapore and Nepal. They are fantastic, hardworking, kind, happy and polite people who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the hotel. They genuinely made our stay more enjoyable and deserve huge praise. Unfortunately, some of the Cypriot staff were not as welcoming and could be quite abrupt and bossy at times, particularly towards the overseas employees. Five stars to the wonderful staff from Singapore and Nepal – thank you for making our stay so lovely.
Food was very hit and miss. Some meals were enjoyable, while others were disappointing. Breakfast often included wedges every other day, which felt more like leftovers from the previous evening's dinner than a breakfast option. There was also one rather moody gentleman making omelettes each morning using a single frying pan while serving a long queue of guests. We only chose to eat dinner in the hotel a few times during our stay. On the positive side, the food available to order from the bar, including pizzas, burgers and chips, was really tasty. The drinks were also very good, with cocktails that actually tasted like proper cocktails rather than the watered-down versions often found at all-inclusive resorts. We stayed on a half-board basis and were glad we did, as the buffet food lacked both quality and variety at times.
The pool area was lovely. Although not huge, it was a good size for the hotel, cleaned daily and equipped with comfortable sunbeds. Best of all, there were no early-morning sunbed battles, with plenty available throughout the day.
One other frustration was the lifts, which seemed quite temperamental. On several occasions they would travel up only to come back down again, making them unreliable and causing unnecessary waiting times.
The entertainment was also very disappointing and lacked both variety and atmosphere. We found it quite poor overall and chose not to spend much time watching it.
The hotel's location is another positive. It's in a nice area with friendly people, good bars and restaurants, and only around a 15-minute walk from the main strip.
We also explored the surrounding area using the local buses, which were excellent value at €2 each way. We visited Ayia Napa, Fig Tree Bay and Konnos Beach, and the beaches were absolutely stunning.
Overall, this is a clean hotel in a good location with some genuinely wonderful staff. While there are several areas that could be improved, particularly room allocation, customer service from some reception staff, the buffet food, entertainment and lifts, we still had an enjoyable stay thanks to the fantastic overseas employees and the hotel's convenient location.
thank you Bohemians gardens for making our holiday so special all the staff are
brilliant especially Demetrius and Katherina who are excellent hosts. every part of the hotel is kept spotless and we cannot wait to return and highly recommend this
hotel
First time at this hotel and it was fabulous we booked a family room and when we arrived we was given a swim up bungalow it was amazing our own little pool with our own patio and sun beds
The bungalows are in blocks of 3 and the walls between them are not very high could do with some privacy panels
The towels could be a bit bigger as they are only bath sized
The staff are really friendly the breakfast had lots of choice and the food in the pool bar area is very good there’s a car park too in a great location within walking distance to bars and restaurants in Penera and a coastal walk into Protaras would highly recommend
Just returned from the Bohemian gardens, and wow, what a place to stay. We booked a 10 night stay in a swim up bungalow 005 it was spacious, immaculately clean and modern. From arriving to leaving we have no complaints. We noticed there was never a morning rush for sunbeds as there was more than enough beds to guests which we thought was fab for people staying in the hotel, people could get a bed at anytime of day arounf the pool. All staff are so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food was nice and had plenty to choose from. There was always something yummy to eat. I have stayed in several different hotels in cyprus, and this hotel tops them on the all-inclusive food. The snacks through the day were cooked fresh, and there were lots of different options. The drinks menu was great loads of different cocktails wine, etc. Entertainment was ok,always, something on in the evening. I really enjoyed the cypriot night. Little things like table service, serving drinks to us at our swim up pool little touches like this make your holiday that little bit more relaxing and special. The staff treated us like family and friends they had known for years, always happy and smiling couldn't do enough for us, Andreas is the best bar man, hard working, funny and so much fun, he made our holiday. The lovely Kabita and Evelyna were amazing, worked non-stop, but always had time for a conversation and always had a smile on their faces. The Maitre D Demetris was fabulous, full of fun, and life always friendly and spoke to us as if he had known us for years. Even management asked how we were and how our day was going. I know I have named a few staff members but I must applaud all members of staff because every one of the team from reception staff, cleaners, maids and waiting staff were all amazing they are all a credit to this hotel. Can't wait to book our return visit see you all soon.
Definitely need more entertainment, food is ok however they need to have a detailed explanation of what is in what for allergies etc. Yes ask staff but you’re expecting this knowledge to be presented when you go. To save the hassle, the kids bit the arcade needs more TLC. I stayed in 509 nice clean rooms, can’t fault anything else. Great friendly staff, thanks to all that accommodated me and my party 💙
Upon arrival hotel is very clean and the rooms are really nice housekeeping perfect however on my first morning there I was in the outside breakfast restaurant bit in a bikini with baggy white bottoms on covering my lower half I was told by this waitress to cover up and put some more clothes on. She had a ponytail black hair always in the breakfast area. On the evening we ordered some food during eating we were approached rudely and demanding to pay while we only just dug in this is not good customer service. You should wait for the customer to ask for the bill instead I was begged. The food and drinks are standard for a four-star hotel so I would say the drink and the food and cleanliness is very good apart from what has happened. Overall I would say restaurant staff 0 out of 10 for customer service however housekeeping was absolutely lovely and I gave them a tip.
Food was awful. Ac and fridge in room did not work more of a 2 star
Sorry will not be staying here ever again
Just got home from a fantastic week staying All Inclusive at the Bohemian Gardens Hotel and we have had a wonderful time. We arrived really late as our flight was delayed out of the UK. Transfer times from the airport is around 45 minutes and when we arrived check in was fast and pleasant and there were some sandwiches and drinks waiting in our room for us. Our experience with the all inclusive was wholly positive, we felt the choice of food available for all three meals was plentiful and that the food was fresh and delicious. We were particularly impressed with the bar snacks that were available out of the regular AI meal times. less snacks than full blown pub style meals. A proper plate of food brought to your table by the pool bar. Drink choices were good and there was never a delay in getting a drink. rooms are comfortable and cleaned every day to a spotless standard. The pool area is clean, beds are comfy and plentiful and staff are present for ordering drinks as well as a lifeguard. Some areas that i think could really improve the experience at the hotel though are as follows; the entertainment in the daytime really needs pushing more, there is a schedule on the wall but things never seemed to be happening, the animation team (who are lovely by the way) need to promote what's on more and get people involved. The same could be said for the evening schedule as well but this was a little more organised and was enjoyable when we attended, my daughter loved the mini disco. The gym is huge for a hotel but is lacking in equipment, what is there is decent and i got a good work out in but with the amount of room down there they could get another 3 or 4 machines in, they also need to turn the TV on down there for some music and the AC which looks to be present in the ceiling but didn't feel like it was on. These were just things that we noted during the week and whist they didnt effect our enjoyment we just felt they would add to the overall experience of the stay. To summarise this is a lovely modern hotel with a great atmosphere, suitable for families and in a perfect location for the beach and some bars and restaurants in the area. We would definitely visit again!
Excellent! Spotless and very amenable. Katherina and Demetrius were Excellent hosts and made us feel extra special. Rooms cleaned every day and food was delicious. Would go back!
Perfect in everyway for a short break. The food rooms and facilities were all first class and the staff friendly and helpful. Will be back!
This is my second visit to this hotel and was even better than last year. Superbly clean, fabulous staff and the food was amazing. The greatest improvement was the sunbeds, such a game changer. I can't wait to go back next year. Well done Bohemian Gardens 👏
Amazing stay! We had a great week here hotel is nice and clean with really friendly staff! We was bed & breakfast and the breakfast was really nice and lots of selection wasn’t too busy and plenty of seating! Lots of sunbeds always empty ones available throughout the day! Food was really nice from the snack bar and staff are so friendly! Abit of a walk to the main strip depending on how fast you walk for us it was about 15/20 minutes but there always some bars closer by! Great stay 10/10 and we will be back soon!
