Sorry but elevator sounded like it needed a tune-up, kinda scary. Towel rack was off the wall in bathroom. Rubber mat for shower was nasty looking. Bathroom on lobby floor not available for guests.
Location and distance to the track
The sink in the bathroom backed up. And there was a foul smell like a sewer was backing up outside.
Hotel was very clean and I felt safe staying there.
Upon arrival at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Shawnee, KS, we were impressed with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the hotel. Jennifer was at the Front Desk and assisted us with our check in in a courteous and professional manner. In my opinion, she epitomizes the very best in managerial representation for Marriott. She thoroughly explained the various amenities available, and reviewed the time frames for breakfast and check out.
We went to our room and found it to be comfortable and quiet. The big screen tv's were an added plus for network viewing, and the comfort of the bed was second to none. The next morning we enjoyed a very nice breakfast of hot scrambled eggs and sausage with coffee and juices, and a comfortable seating area.
We checked out of the hotel with relative ease and certainly gave accolades to Jennfer and her staff---they deserved it!
Close to the ball field
Elevator not working properly. Alarm went off and slow to open. We reported it but never fixed during our stay
Great breakfast. The ice machine was broke on our floor so had to go to another floor. Electric outlet in the bathroom that didn’t work.
Unfortunately, are stay was less than desirable. Upon arrival our room was
Very unfriendly host during check in. Gave our room away that we had reserved weeks ahead of time. Ended up in the "extra emergency room" which had no tables, chairs, desks, missing lamps and fridge didn’t work. Definitely will not be returning!
This was a Non-Stay. We had a confirmed reservation through Hotels, but apparently somebody didn't tell the hotel. At least they called us to tell us of the error, so we didn't waste our time at their front desk.
Shower curtain to short, no alarm clock or clock, night table by beds dirty
Our reservation was somehow canceled. Not sure how or why was not canceled by me or my wife.
We had itinerary number with was and all the desk clerk would say was it had been canceled and he did not have a room for us.
We had to wait an 1&/12 hrs to check in. They doubled booked the rooms and gave us someone else’s room. No remote to tv. Dirty sock in the room. Wires hanging out of the air conditioner. Then I checked my bank account and they tried to charge me twice for our stay. And they had cold food on a cart at the desk that sat out for several hours before it was put up. The desk manger did not know what he was doing this weekend. Several people were heated d/t the double booking rooms. I will tell you that the gen manager this morning fixed the second charge on my account and refunded us a nights stay. His name is Johnny and he was very helpful!
4 night stay was fine but only had one day of housekeeping change out.
The staff was kind and professional, the complimentary breakfast had a wide variety of food.
the back entry area was a tad untidy
Very nice staff
This hotel was just “ok” at best. Some of the positives that took this property from terrible to ok include- amazing breakfast; friendly and welcoming staff; great fitness center; the option for adjoining rooms for larger families (we had 6 people total in our group). Some of the negatives- the pool was so disgusting and cold; the pictures online make it look like a large pool but it’s not. I’d say maybe 12ft by 8ft. And that can feel incredibly small after 6-8 kids are in there at once. The pool area wasn’t cleaned once during our stay and it was evident by the trash around the pool that was there when we arrived on Thursday afternoon and still there when we left on Sunday morning. They never had any clean pool towels available or a place to put the used ones so there was just a pile of them by the trash can. And the smell of the pool area was overwhelming once you opened the door to it and it was of what I can best describe as fecal matter. The elevator had a terrible shake and noise when coming to a stop; we had 2 rooms and each had minor issues that would coincide with an older, rundown hotel that hasn’t been properly maintained (for example- bathroom door handle wouldn’t work unless slamming the door shut; bathroom vent had a loud banging noise like something was inside of it and ramming into it; tv channels didn’t work; lights didn’t work near beds; no bedding provided for the pullout couch unless requested)
I’d pass on this one unless you’re just passing through.
Nothing
There pool was under construction which I was not told until I paid. When I went to the room I ran the water for 5 minutes and there was no hot water. I got a refund (which I'm still waiting on) I was only on the property for 7 minutes.
