Good location
Fun pool area
The place is not maintained - we had dirt on the wall, birds poop on the porch, the kids playground slide is broken and not attached completely .
There was no vegan options at the restaurant
The amenities
The stairs
Beautiful views, nice, clean room. Very nice pool and hot tub.
We were not aware of the amount of steps to the Studio. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Grounds around the area were not as I would have expected. This could be a work in progress due to cut trees still needing cleaned up.
Lots of weeds and blackberry bush vines running thru the steps to the studio.
Outside dining area had remnants of daycare being there. Food on floor and tables.
Way pretty grounds! The pool and our room looks over the woods!
Nothing
The rooms, the spa, the pool, the food and cocktails exceeded any expectations that we had. We booked one night and ended up staying two, and never left the resort. It had all that we needed. Thank you for your hospitality and we will be back very soon!
Loved the hot tub! Nice and hot! And it was quiet. Would've liked to see the fire lit though.
Our fridge was making a loud horrible noise about every 20 minutes or so waking me up! Also the shower curtain fell off twice nearly knocking my head off then my daughter's. Need to fix those two issues in studio 3 C. Otherwise, all good stay.
The quietness, not too many people.
Lots of stairs.
Nice and luxury just didn't have water
The water was turn off in I didn't know to after I pad my money to stay.m, then my cabin lights didn't work so they moved us next door. I lost my keys for hours before checkout in they were at the first cabin. Terrible experience I will never come back.
Very serene, and we loved the bar, food, hot tub, and fire pit.
Gravel drive wasn’t motorcycle friendly, and limited parking at the cabins.
I was really looking forward to a relaxing solo afternoon before my flight, massage, pool time, and dinner onsite so I wouldn’t have to leave. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out that way.
I called ahead thinking I’d be late and was told I’d get a callback, but never did, so I rushed over for no reason. The owner, Anna, even tried to pull her phone out to show she called me back, I was there now nothing to prove. Then I found out nothing is included, everything is an add-on, even the pool (“cold plunge”) for $45 (about spit out my water, I thought she was joking calling it a cold plunge). After 20+ years working in the spa industry, this was surprising. I declined, naturally.
I asked about the restaurant since I planned to stay onsite and got a vague “not yet” twice, instead of just being told the restaurant was closed. Was told to flag down the bar manager for wine if I needed. Never saw anyone but me and another couple on the property.
The massage therapist was great (Steve) he even had to let his wife know to not meet him there that the restaurant was closed, but the rest was disappointing. The room had a Ring camera (facing the porch), the bathroom door didn’t close, AC didn’t work but a nice breeze came from a crack in the floor, something buzzed all night, and overall it just didn’t feel comfortable or well maintained. Also, black washcloths, major RED FLAG. Can't bleach those, yuck!
For $350+, I really wish I had stayed somewhere else. There’s a lot of potential here, but better communication and basic hospitality would go a long way. I see the owner doesn't take too kindly to bad reviews but things needs to be addressed, you have a great place and such potential. Year round hospitality is a must.
This was the worst experience ever. Absolutely no customer service. We didn't even stay at the resort but we're charged full price including an early check-in. The rooms were disgusting, the lock on the door was busted and no one would fix it, there's no front desk and you have to call a guy named Kevin and wait for him to call you back to get your room number, to get any sort of service at all
The Internet wouldn't work, the TV wouldn't work, the bar was closed due to a private event (that we actually had tickets for, but we weren't allowed to take our food to go)
Never in 1 million years could you pay me to ever come back to this place or deal with these people again.
My husband and I stayed here from January 30-February 1. It was a
nightmare from start to finish. Do NOT book anything here.
When we initially booked, we searched through all available rooms. At the time, we only found one that listed it as having a hot tub and it was a separate cabin away from the main building, so we booked that
one. The day of check-in comes and we get a call from them - we have
to be moved to a different room in the main building because the pipes
had frozen in that cabin. This was the weekend of the big snow for the
area, but at that point in the middle of the day, it was still plenty
above freezing. We told them it was fine, so long as we still got
access to the hot tub - the main reason we booked the room. We were
then told that the hot tub was communal to all guests and would not be available for use due to the weather because it was not under a
protected area. I went back and checked the website again with new
dates to see all of the rooms - not all of them have the hot tub
listed, only certain ones, which makes it heavily imply that a hot tub
is only available privately to particular rooms.
We check in to our new room, which we were told was an upgrade. The
size was the only thing nice about it - the covering on the radiator
in the floor was completely falling apart and laying IN the floor and
there was also mold/wood rot underneath one of the heating units. It was 60 degrees in the room at check in, so we bumped the temperature on the two units up, went out for a couple hours, and came back. The main living room area was nice and warm. The bedroom was still 60 degrees and was not cutting on at all. We contacted the only person we
could at the time and were originally told the room was just drafty
and that there was a space heater in the closet we could use. We had
to emphasize that the unit was completely not working before they came to check it and offered to move us yet again.
The next room was fine. Smaller size, but plenty warm. We ran into the
opposite issue - the unit never turned off for the entirety of our stay and our room was a roasting 73/74 degrees the entire time. It was late at that point, so we just dealt with it. But when we asked the next morning why it wasn't cooling off after we turned down the thermostat in the room, we were informed that the room temperature was actually controlled by a thermostat that was outside in the hallway. We turned it down, but it still never got much cooler and it was very loud the whole time. The bathroom in this room drained very poorly, so you experienced a bath along with your shower and there was mold in the overflow drain of the sink.
We were originally supposed to have a spa experience there. But with
the snow, the masseuses weren't able to make it in - not a big deal,
that was out of everyone's control! We were offered to use the steam
room and sauna instead. We agreed. We were given robes that were
entirely too small for us to where it was uncomfortable moving around
in them, and then the only thing that worked was the sauna because the
steam room - you guessed it - had frozen pipes as well.
Nowhere throughout this entire experience were we offered a reduced rate, anything complimentary, nothing - because in their policies, it states that there will be no refunds given due to weather-related events and that includes amenities being closed because of it. Yet if their building were maintained and properly upkept, things like
freezing pipes wouldn't be an issue. We began to get suspicious of
this business, so we began looking through the website and noticed
that later the day of our check in was a pop up box that had not been
there earlier that day - that the hot tub would not be available due
to inclement weather. They only added that after we asked about it.
When we asked about the hot tub again at the point of having to move
rooms from the cold, we were told the hot tubs haven't been used since
Hurricane Helene. Then we were told later that they're always closed
for inclement weather. Then we were told they didn't want to encourage
people to use them in case they slipped due to the water freezing -
yet when we used the sauna, we were offered to do a polar plunge in
the pool. We kept receiving multiple different stories.
We have now seen other horror stories from other people who have
stayed at this business and had awful experiences from the spa to the rooms to the restaurant and the business owners are trying to censor
it as much as possible.
Stay far, far away from this place.
The property was great, hot tub and pool were amazing. We stayed in room 303 and the ac was horrible. Stayed at 73 all night and it was 56 degrees outside. They had 4 fans in the closet so I assume they know that the ac sucks.. everything was perfect except that but that is a big one for me! I can’t sleep hot
Small and quaint! Room was clean and the spa on site was really nice
The room was NOT mountain view as advertised in the ad due to the tree coverage in summer!
Bar/restaurant seemed to struggle with staff and service
Breakfast not offered.grounds were beautiful.
Mixed use venue.not sure where the property is headed in the future.
