Quiet and serene. Beautiful property and excellent staff. Very dog friendly. I extended two additional days, just didn’t want to leave. Enjoyed a pedicure, manicure and massage, all were very relaxing and the spa staff and Erica are very kind and welcoming. Restaurant staff are courteous, and now I have new friends. Looking forward to my stay in Oct. Will be bringing friends with me.
My only suggestion would be an outdoor table at all the cabins.
My experience was extremely disappointing due to serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. This “resort” boasts a luxury experience, however it was anything but. I dealt with broken, dirty, health risk rooms. A 15 child “summer camp” with limited supervision, two women who were more interested in reading and tanning than watching the kids, who took over the pool and hottub. While advertised on their website, many guests did not know of this and were uncomfortable with this large group of kids under the age of 13 running around the pool/ hot tub area so guests left. There were multiple times of the pool area having no clean towels to use, no bartender at the bar by the pool during peak hours, and again no staff around to address these issues, I shouldn’t have to call for the basic things that a resort advertises. Oh and the fire alarm randomly went off three times during my stay, all early morning 2 am ish.
I was initially assigned to room 4D, which had multiple problems, including a broken bathroom door and significant cleanliness concerns. The most alarming issue was visible mold or mildew on the side of the bed. I reported this to Kevin, but initially felt my concern was dismissed when he suggested it might be dust or a bleach stain. The attached photos clearly show that this was not the case.
We were moved to room 5C, which appeared better at first and seemed cleaner. However, there was a persistent musty odor throughout the room. On the final day of my stay, I discovered the source of the smell was the air conditioner, which was visibly filled with mold and mildew and appeared to be blowing it into the room. This is a serious health concern and not something guests should be exposed to.
When I reported this to Kevin there was no apology or offer of any type of refund. He said he would have it cleaned. Once I returned home I sent an email outlining my displeasure and requested a partial refund. This email, and follow up emails were never responded to.
While I appreciate that we were eventually moved rooms, the presence of mold and mildew in multiple areas raises major concerns about the property’s cleanliness, maintenance, attention to guest safety and providing a “luxury” experience. I hope these issues are addressed so future guests do not have the same experience. I will never go here again and do not recommend anyone else spend their money here.
Per the internet, a resort is supposed to be "a self-contained commercial establishment or designated destination area that provides travelers with accommodation, food, and a wide array of recreational, entertainment, and leisure facilities in one place."
IMO, Skylaranna fails to live up to this definition.
Accommodations: nice enough, nothing special. Altho be warned if you choose a cabin; the circular staircase is a tight fit for taking luggage to the bedroom, and there is no bathroom on the 2nd (bedroom) floor, so you may be climbing down and up that stairway in the middle of the night.
Food: none. Onsite restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday; bring your own food or plan to drive into town to eat. Some websites state that this place offers room service, but it doesn't. Poolside bar is only open on the weekend. On the night I ate at the onsite restaurant, the food was very good but the service was slow, considering there was only one other table occupied.
Recreation, etc.: nice pool, the best part of Skylaranna, and it's open 24 hours. I didn't try the hot tub or spa. There are hiking trails, but I can't speak about them as it was too hot and buggy when I was there to walk more than a hundred feet into the woods.
re cleanliness: My cabin and subsequent hotel room were both clean. Lacked some basic amenities, like Kleenex, and some travel-size insect repellant would have been nice, but maybe that's asking too much. A bag of trash was placed outside the door of the room across the hall from me, and it was not picked up the entire 2 days I was there. Supposedly there is someone onsite but I never saw him, and obviously he didn't walk around and make sure things were good.
Skylaranna wasn't worth the money I paid.
It was very cute and cozy, I like also the privacy
Everything good. No problems at all. There was only one light that was blinking , maybe check on it. The light close to the bed frame
Good location
Fun pool area
The place is not maintained - we had dirt on the wall, birds poop on the porch, the kids playground slide is broken and not attached completely .
There was no vegan options at the restaurant
Terrible experience. Only 5 tables were occupied, and yet we waited almost 40 minutes for the food to come out. The appetizer we ordered never showed up. Ordered 2 Blue cheese burgers. We were served two burnt hockey pucks with a small side of blue cheese. No salad, no tomatoes, no onions, nothing aside from buns. We had to ask the waitress for them.. and also told her about the missing appetizer so she could cancel it. She looked distraught.
Powered through the burgers (we were starving at that point). Once done asked for the check. She said a "computer glitch" made the appetizer "disappear" from the system. Too bad the "burgers" did not instead.
Adding 2 beers and a glass of wine. Total cost: $69.00.
We moved to Hendersonville a year ago, and we are going out once a week: worst experience so far (and maybe ever).
Beautiful views, nice, clean room. Very nice pool and hot tub.
We were not aware of the amount of steps to the Studio. Would have been nice to know ahead of time. Grounds around the area were not as I would have expected. This could be a work in progress due to cut trees still needing cleaned up.
Lots of weeds and blackberry bush vines running thru the steps to the studio.
Outside dining area had remnants of daycare being there. Food on floor and tables.

The stairs
Way pretty grounds! The pool and our room looks over the woods!
Nothing
The rooms, the spa, the pool, the food and cocktails exceeded any expectations that we had. We booked one night and ended up staying two, and never left the resort. It had all that we needed. Thank you for your hospitality and we will be back very soon!
Loved the hot tub! Nice and hot! And it was quiet. Would've liked to see the fire lit though.
Our fridge was making a loud horrible noise about every 20 minutes or so waking me up! Also the shower curtain fell off twice nearly knocking my head off then my daughter's. Need to fix those two issues in studio 3 C. Otherwise, all good stay.
The quietness, not too many people.
Lots of stairs.
Nice and luxury just didn't have water
The water was turn off in I didn't know to after I pad my money to stay.m, then my cabin lights didn't work so they moved us next door. I lost my keys for hours before checkout in they were at the first cabin. Terrible experience I will never come back.
Very serene, and we loved the bar, food, hot tub, and fire pit.
Gravel drive wasn’t motorcycle friendly, and limited parking at the cabins.
