Vivian Motor Hotel

Arrived on time. Reservation booked mid-May 2025 via Expedia. Hey could not find my reservation and were fully booked.
They tried to book me somewhere else locally, but after 15 minutes of waiting, I found a place and paid double of my original booking price. I got refunded on the spot (good move), but I still ended up spending double of the original price. Will never book there afain.

Sur les photos et la description on voit un petit réfrigérateur dans la chambre et cafetière. Il n’y a ni l’un ni l’autre. Par contre j’ai eu un très bon service à mon arrivée ce qui compense.

Good staff

The rating was low when i booked for hotel. But my expectations was great. I had a good sleep there at hotel. Everything was clean

The owner refused to wake up at 6am to check me out to receive my deposit back. Didn’t end up staying bc of this. I’m writing a review since the owner was very rude & literally locked the door behind me after I asked for my deposit back & left very upset. I paid for the room, even if I didn’t stay this rude man got my $55 anyway. I ended up having to ride my motorcycle to Minnedosa to get a motel. Thumbs down to this place & owner.

The price

The room was tiny and not fit for sleeping. The bed had a fitted mattress, one pillow, and one very, very, old cover. There was no sheet over the fitted mattress sheet. This hotel is basically the local flop house in Neepawa. I didn't stay and they wouldn't refund my money. I strongly advise you to remove it from your listings.

Un hôtel décevant. Je sais bien que le prix n'était pas cher, mais il y a des limites. Un couloir qui ressemble à un corridor de prison, des odeurs de moisi et de vieille cuisine pas fraîche. Une chambre défraîchie avec même pas une table pour manger ou poser son ordinateur. Je me demande comment un tel hôtel peut être référencé sur des sites de réservation internationaux.

My dad used to run this hotel in 1985, so i thought i would stay there for a bit of nostalgia.
They forgot my reservation, so they didnt have a clean room for me until later in the evening.
Its very dated and desperately needs an overhaul. It looks worse than it did in 85..

The restaurant next door has been replaced with vlts and the bar is basically another vlt area. Gone is the bar that rocked hard on the weekends. Now sad, older men and women just sit and hemorrhage their pension checks.
On a positive note, the bed was surprisingly clean and very comfortable and the microwave and fridge is quite handy.
The door lock on the door is only a push knob, bathroom-type lock, so security is not very good

Grocery stores are very close. Staff is very nice and helpful. Room was not so clean and the neighbor next door was very loud. Ok for 1 night stay.

1) Had to pay $20 to make sure key returned but no staff on till 0945 am for monies to be returned. Did not feel comfy giving my visa #
Customer behind me looked questionable. Staff member sweet but young. Had to call owner to find out cost of room and key deposit. Thus I lost the $20. Room # not clear on the keys. I had to ask the young staff member if I was safe staying there.
2) Motel disgusting. Questionable clean bedding/towels. Bed appeared to look slept in and towels had hand prints on them.
3) Noise all night (yelling, laughing, loud speaking up u til 5am) and no Motel staff to call. Did not feel safe confronting myself.
4) Shame on you Expedia for recommending this site to anyone, no matter what the price!
Now I understand why the reservation was non refundable. Learned my lesson. If I was so exhausted from driving 15 hours straight I would have found accommodations somewhere else.
