Overall, I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would gladly recommend it to anyone visiting Xi’an. Its excellent location, outstanding breakfast and helpful staff are definite highlights.
What I liked
Excellent location
The hotel is ideally located, approximately a five-minute walk from one of Xi’an’s main tourist attractions. This makes it an excellent base for exploring the city and visiting its main sights.
Friendly staff and excellent service
Although the reception is located on the first floor, staff members welcome guests at the hotel entrance and help with their luggage. This is a thoughtful touch that makes a good first impression.
We also arrived before the official check-in time, but our room was made available immediately. I particularly appreciated the staff’s flexibility and willingness to help when we encountered an issue with our original room.
Outstanding breakfast
Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. The buffet offers an impressive variety of food, with a particularly strong selection of local Chinese specialities.
There were different types of noodles and dumplings, traditional dishes, the famous Chinese hamburger (roujiamo), excellent local juices and a wide variety of desserts. The selection also changed daily, which was a welcome touch.
Although the breakfast focuses mainly on Chinese cuisine, there were also options suitable for European guests. The abundance, variety and quality of the food made breakfast an excellent experience.
Modern, spacious and comfortable rooms
After changing rooms, we were very satisfied with the accommodation. The room was modern, spacious and comfortable, with smart features that enhanced the overall experience. In my opinion, its standard of comfort and technology compares favourably with rooms in similarly rated hotels in Western Europe.
Final verdict
Despite these shortcomings, my overall experience was very positive.
What could be improved
Room description and windowless accommodation
Our original room reservation, made through Booking.com, turned out to be a room without an actual view of the outdoors. Instead, it had what appeared to be a false window. This feature was not explicitly mentioned in the room description, and I would never have selected that room had I known about it in advance.
I cannot say whether the issue was caused by the hotel’s description or by the way the information was presented on Booking.com. Nevertheless, I believe this detail should be clearly disclosed before booking.
To the hotel’s credit, the staff handled the situation very professionally. They offered us several alternatives until we found a room that suited our preferences, with a view of the theatre behind the hotel. Their helpfulness turned an initially disappointing situation into a positive outcome.
Sound insulation and window sealing
The main technical issue I noticed was the sound insulation. The window frames in our room did not seem to close properly, leaving gaps through which outside noise could enter quite easily.
I cannot confirm whether this is a problem throughout the hotel or specific to our room. However, I believe the windows should be checked and properly sealed to improve both acoustic comfort and thermal insulation.
We stayed during a relatively warm period, so I cannot comment on how the room performs during winter. Nevertheless, this is an aspect worth addressing.

1. Descrierea camerei rezervate – o surpriză neplăcută
Un aspect dezamăgitor a fost camera pe care am rezervat-o prin Booking.com. La sosire, am constatat că aceasta nu avea o fereastră cu vedere spre exterior, ci o așa-numită „fereastră falsă”. Descrierea camerei nu menționa explicit această particularitate, iar dacă aș fi cunoscut acest detaliu în momentul rezervării, cu siguranță aș fi ales o altă categorie de cameră.

Located close to subway and bell tower. Close to restaurant and shops. Reception, concierge and cleaning staff very friendly and helpful. Very basic but adequate gym and a laundry, which was very useful. Breakfast cheap and a variety of options.
Room had an awful smell coming from drain. Reported to staff. Maintenance staff quite rude and said there was no smell. We had to put wet flannel in sink to stop smell. Also we didn’t realise that there was not a separate bathroom just shower and toilet separate. Since I was travelling with my adult son it was awkward getting dressed and undressed. My fault - I didn’t look at pictures properly. There is no room service or in house dinning except for breakfast, but it is easy to get takeaway delivery by the robot.

Cela a plombé mon séjour car pas de routeur pour ma connction wifi extérieure.
ai été obligé d'acheter une carte sim nationale qui n'a pas la même puissance et limitation dû au pays.
2 ascenceurs, c'est insuffisant pour 8 étages et le nombre de chambres par étage
Fraai hotel met geweldige moderne en schone kamers, voorzien van allerlei technische snufjes (geautomatiseerde gordijnen, geavanceerd toilet met afstandsbediening :-), fijne douche). Je komt niets tekort.
Mooi interieur, ook van de gangen.
Goede centrale ligging, dichtbij de Bell and Drum Towers en de Southgate van de stadsmuur.
Het ontbijt is echt super, zeer uitgebreid, zowel de Aziatische alsook de Europese keuken.
Persoon is wat zakelijk in de communicatie.
Geen online bericht van het hotel 1-2 dagen voor de incheckdatum, terwijl dit bij vrijwel alle hotels wel standaard is.
Die Ausstattung war praktisch und gut durchdacht.
Die Klimaanlage konnte nur an- oder ausgemacht werden. Eine Temperaturregelung nach oben oder unten war nicht möglich.

It’s a modern hotel. Quite a lot of places to eat around the hotel. Staffs are friendly.
Free laundry service was great.
We stayed for 4 nights but one day they forgot to do the clean up service in the room. Another day found out no toilet papers. They sent someone right away and did a great job.

Location couldn't be better — the Bell Tower and Drum Tower are right outside, and the Muslim Quarter street food is a short stroll away, so we barely needed taxis. Breakfast was varied and well presented, with plenty of both Western and local options, and the room quality and service matched a true 5-star experience.
Honestly very little to complain about — the breakfast room got quite busy at peak times, but that was our only minor observation.
