Room hand a few quirks, including broken do not disturb tag. Also no tea in the room. Price to value was not there.
Beautiful, chic, fun looking property. I love the decor in the bedrooms, the beds are incredibly comfortable and thank you for the refreshments on each floor, what a fantastic little touch.
And a big shout out to Jay from Bangladesh…what an absolute gent!
Minuscule dislike. Those bloody black cylinders in the rooms don’t open! I stayed about 2 months ago same story and then in both mine and my friends rooms (all 3 of them) they wouldn’t open. Just get rid of the lid in all your rooms! Though we had a good laugh trying to pry them open.
Totally fine hotel, nice rooms. I found it really weird when I wasn't checked out with my baggage still in my room and the hotel staff was in my room eating my yogurt from the fridge and making my last coffee pod in the rooms machine. I can't believe there is a $30 per day cleaning fee for this to occur. They never refunded my fee after this happened.

current location in a safe area staff was very accommodating, including the valet service and front desk. They offer basic food, water bottles , and soda cans popcorn, and chips complementary pretty much 24 seven as long as the supplies don’t run out
It is a bit pricey, to be honest
And it’s ridiculous to charge $40 a day plus tax, etc. for be parking, especially when it’s cheap parking close to the hotel. I just think it’s inconvenient, especially if you have a small kid and you need it. I feel like it’s taking advantage.
I was in the Detroit area for a show, decided to try a different part of town. Starting off arriving at the valet is only really accessible if traveling south on old woodrow. Even then it gets regularly backed up. Valet when we arrived did not open doors or help with suitcases. Room is mediocre for price. Stayed at Shinola last year and I prefer their syle more. Bed not comfortable. Two tvs in the room but the two remotes work with both tvs so only one tv can be used at a time. A DJ was playing for a party downstairs until 2 a.m. Then for the next hour people had loud conversations in hallways. Walls and ceiling are paper thin. You will hear everything. Bring earplugs. The complimentary pantry was nice if understocked. I would not recommend this hotel, and will not return.

Club like atmosphere in lobby with loud music kept me awake until 2 am
Very upscale and expensive. The room layout was cool and interior design felt modern.
The couch in the room had a gross stain and didnt look clean enough that we didnt sit on it at any point.
The Daxton is a great hotel located in the heart of Birmingham. The staff is great and very hospitable!
