Staff were very friendly during our stay.
The hotel itself feels stuck in the 90s/early 00s, however the dining room (floor 3) seemed to be more modern. Room was very musty smelling throughout the stay and we got a noise complaint because our kids were laughing and playing as we were unpacking at 5pm. That may just be because the average age of guests skewed heavily toward the older crowd.
Both nights the elevator area smelled like marijuana and we had to put a towel under the door - we did let the front desk know.
The coffee shop across the street was very nice and the playground was great for our kids to kill some time before the wedding we were attending.
Breakfast was good and had many options.
Welcoming staff . Beautiful areas surrounding the venue . Great breakfast options . Beautiful lounging areas .
Updating in a few areas of building . More needs to be done . But would stay again
Beautiful lake views
Good breakfast
Quite nights
Rooms are small and without amenities. Not comfortable..poor seating options inside the tight room. Bathroom is way too small and did not like the sink located outside the bathroom.
Felt more like a dormitory than actual "Inn" and felt truly like it was 'off season'. Very out dated room decor and sheets were a wrinkled mess even before sleeping. Not enough hangers. air conditioning was inconsistent temperature control. Windows were dirty and sad not to have clear vision to enjoy the lake view. the Inn entrance porte couchere is ridiculously large and dark (not inviting at all) theres limited parking. The large ''gathering" room seemed lovely .... the dining area is very utilitarian and cafeteria like. lacking ambience. .... fine for conventions but not what I would call an Inn. I think I misjudged or this is misrepresented in its ad outreach. the lake was lovely.
Hotel was fine but really no better than a Motel 6 or other road side place to stay. The lake is pretty but way smaller than the website implies. Check-in staff had no suggestions of things to do or places to eat, didn't show how to get to our room & was generally unhelpful. Restaurant in site & gift shops were all closed, patio chairs were dirty & filled with cobwebs. Various places needed painting & just an overall feeling of a tired, old building. We weren't there for a spiritual retreat & so felt out of place with all the religious symbols, prayer request boxes & the signs saying that there was no alcohol allowed - not because of county laws but because it is bad for your body. I don't need to be judged by my hotel & I certainly felt that way.

Super nice hotel. Would go there again. Beautiful view of the lake. Very helpful front desk.
The bathroom could have been cleaned better. The baseboards were dirty and the shower needed a better cleaning. But the beds were very clean and the room itself was very nice.
Best location, friendly staff, cozy room, perfect calming stay !
Great stay!
Incredible views of the lake from the rooms and hotel in general, rooms were good size, accommodations were comfortable, food was good, staff was attentive, no alcohol on the facilities.
View is 1st rate. Staff is friendly and easy to work with. Great evening meal at Bottecellis.
Great view and outside of dated rooms everything was beautiful.
Toilet rook wasn’t the best. I had no bedside table.
Parking was kind of a nightmare (not enough parking onsite), there were a lot of maintenance issues, including a mildew smell in the restroom.
- Breakfast was a full buffet and a very pleasant surprise
- 3-4 mile walking paths around the lake, pickleball court, kayak and paddleboard rentals available
- As a non-coffee drinker, was pleasantly surprised to find hot tea station in lobby
- Short drive to Waynesville and Cherokee and Asheville within an hour's drive
We had wonderful time !
Beautiful
Lovely location, very awkward trying to get from parking area into hotel without navigating a very steep, wet driveway or using a circuitous route to an unmarked side entrance. Very disconcerting, especially for seniors and families. Breakfast was available, but what we tried was not good - powdered, cold eggs; very thick cold grits; gummy oatmeal; extremely stale, hard grocery store bagels with warm whipped cream cheese. Bacon was good.
Great Experience with outstanding views. Walking trail to boot. Will return in the future
