We were there with a tour group. There was no air conditioning in the room. I called twice for them to send someone to fix. They said that they are fixing the system. Then I called again and they said itâs fixed and it will be cooling. My husband went down after an hour to front desk requesting someone come up to check. No one came up. The room remained at 25 degrees centigrade.Next morning I went to front desk three times asking for the manager. Twice they said he would be there in 30 minutes. Third time said he is on leave. 10 minutes before our group was supposed to leave he showed up. I realized he was the manager. I asked him if he would please listen to me and took him to a side office. He actually sat on the sofa with his arm on the sofa looking at me while I am standing. I was amazed at that and asked him if thatâs how he was trained. He did not get up , instead said sit down with his arm still on the back of that love seat. I elected to remain standing. When I recounted the issue. All he had to say was madam you are so upset, while your husband is such a nice man. ( My husband was the chair of the group). No explanation of why the air conditioning did not work or why no one responded. Others had no towels I. The rooms. Others had toilet blockage. A few had toilet not working. No iron or ironing board in the rooms. Terrible arrangement in the cafeteria for breakfast. They knew a year in advance the size of the group.
We arrived late and the service we received at the front desk was good. However on the way to our room we were targeted by a con man who pretended to work for the hotel. This led to a certain unease for the duration of our stay.
The room we were given is cramped with a poor layout which barely has space for two suitcases.
The air con in the room said the temperature was 27 degrees, and was unresponsive when we tried to reset it. When we asked about the issue with the air conditioning we were told that because of the time of year only the heating is on now and were told someone would look at it. There is no evidence anyone tried to resolve the issue. Weirdly there is air conditioning in the lobby!
We stayed there for just one night, but we really liked the place. It's a big hotel, with very good facilities as indoor and outside swimming pool. The breakfast is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing that we really disliked was the shower, in a very small place, with a curtain that sticks on you the whole time... it's really poor for the hotel pattern.
We had a very pleasant stay in the Zarafshon hotel. Special thanks to Nazokat the helpful and kind manager of this lovely hotel. She helped us with many things and kindly gave us an upgrade. She recommended the hotel restaurant which is set in beautiful green surroundings and serves excellent food. The staff were all very nice and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with huge choice.
We were so exited visiting Bukhara as it is our first time here. Unfortunately the hotel is really bad⌠I donât like to post negative reviews but this deserves it. Probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. It classifies as luxury but is more like a lodge. Boasts of 6 restaurants but no room service menu in the room. Very dark and dingy rooms and corridors. Our room wasnât cleaned despite us putting the make our room tag⌠finally cleaned in the night and only the bathroom. Next day also similar experience⌠had to tell them to vacuum but no dusting or cleaning. Dirty cup was left right where I used it the previous day⌠room service was served in a foil without plates⌠if this is an international hotel someone needs to tell them that it isnât. Not recommended especially if you are looking for luxury or comfortable stay
A dangerously poorly maintained pool that led to an accident. My leg was gashed on a broken pool ladder on 8 June 2025. (I weigh 65 kgs.)
Pool staff came with first aid kit when It was obvious stiches were required. Eventually taken by ambulance to a hospital for 5 stiches and injections. Prescribed antibiotics and painkillers. Back to hotel by our own means.
Hotel staff seemed desinterested aside from a bowl of fruit by way of an apology. Female member of staff even joked It was my fault because I was distracted flirting with other guests. Comment made when my husband wasn't present.
Requested a non-existent complaint form & upon request spoke to a manager who offered a free night and a dinner. Although dinner was free, we were not refunded for one night. That was all the attention we received. Following an e mail to the hotel, we were offered a 2 night voucher to be used in 2 years as "a goodwill gesture" which we wont be able to use.
The injury had a great impact on the rest of the holiday in UzbekistĂĄn, 5 appointments in surgery at home and still recovering.
All in all, not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing.
It's our first time here in Bukhara We are a group of 20 people who stay and choose this property .I must say the property is very neat , clean and lovely staff . The cleaning staff is especially nice.all markets important shops are near so easy to access .The bedroom is big in size and comfortable.i must say please add Pakistani cuisine to your breakfast buffet and menu .we really miss our food .

Das Hotel sollte etwas mehr darauf achten, dass der Zustand der Zimmer auch kleine Reparaturen erfordert.
10 days before arrival, I sent the hotel an email asking about arranging transport from the train station. Then I sent another one. Then I called twice. Then I emailed again. I am still waiting for a response. The explanation in person was âreception doesnât have access to emailâ đ There is only the one email address listed in the hotel website so whoever has access to it, doesnât seem to give a damn.
I guess it is a hotel, it has running water, electricity and patchy internet. Not much else going for it. We booked and paid for a suite as we like some space around. Upon arrival, I noticed the wallpaper peeling everywhere in the room and what appears to be mould on the walls covered with other bits of wallpaper. That is not just disgusting but a health hazard! Asked reception for another suite, which took a while but we got one (they tried to put us in a smaller room!). The bathrooms are a hotch-potch of one amateurish âfixâ upon another.
Breakfast appears to be generous and varied until a closer look reveals it is quite basic. I didnât dare touch the âhot dishesâ on offer as they appeared to have been sitting there for a fair while. Guests are not allowed to touch the coffee machines else they break it and there is a waiter pushing buttons instead. There is powdered orange juice, some apple juice and the water is warm and straight out of the tap!
Donât bother with the pool, they seem to let in people for a fee and who cares about paying house guests. A bunch of young men who were definitely not guests had taken over the whole pool, being loud and slightly obnoxiousâŚand donât start me on the blaring music at the pool area - in the middle if the day!!!!!
I tried to request a late checkout - around 2 or 3pm instead of midday. I was told it wasnât possible as the hotel was full. When I later pointed out I could easily book several rooms/suites for the night, the story changed. I was told yes, I can have a later checkout at a bargain basement price of some $70+ (half the nightly rate for a couple of hours).
And whatever you do, use the toilet sparingly. Here is not a single spare toilet roll in the suite so make sure you dint need to call housekeeping at the wrong time!!
Beautiful, large room. Friendly and helpful staff. Coffee at breakfast was great and overall good quality good. Only complaint would be no water cooler in lobby.
Property is dated and not kept well. Bathrooms and showers are dirty and moldy. Cleanliness is definitely not a priority. Towels and sheets are old and havenât been cleaned properly to the extent that they are white anymore. I personally couldnât wait to finish my stay and get out of that hotel.
Very ugly and dirty hotel. After the check in at 9.30p.m. we found out our rooms were on 2nd floor facing a green plastic cover...very tiny rooms with no space even for 2 trolleys...the bathroom is so small that you have no space both for your personal toilettery or to hang the bathclothes which we found in the wardrobe using the only 2 provided hangers. When I asked for extra ones they said they had no extras to hand. Unbelievable. Is it a 4star-hotel or a 2star-hotel? The most horrible and terribile aspect was to find a very dirty room full of hairs and ants everywhere in the room near the beds, on the bedsidetables and in the bathroom whose shower didn't work well since water leaked outside on the toilet floor( we found out late in the evening) .The worst surprise was when we opened the fridge: ants everywhere with old food and drinks left behind maybe by the previous customers so it meant cleaning is not a priority for the hotel management. We all complained ( I was part of a group of 9 people in the same situation...even worse in some other rooms)...we asked to change rooms but they said they couldn't because it was full. So we asked to change hotel because it was impossible to stay there...they said the hotel manager was off at that time and we should have waited until the day after...
It was also difficult to communicate because people at the reception didn't speak English well...they didn't understand why we were complaining...they were not helpful and sensitive at all...they kept on asking " What's the problem?"...it meant they didn't understand our situation.
They sent us the cleaners to make a quick cleaning of the rooms ... so we had to stay overnight , we called our travel agency and the day after we moved after a very disorganised breakfast to a wonderful hotel, still 4stars but totally different. The worst experience in Utzbekistan in 11 days and they never apologised for their very bad service. Avoid this hotel in Bukkhara!
Very friendly staff who go out of their way to be helpful but I would say that the property is over trading and in need of proper updating. Itâs rated four star, this maybe because of the pool and spa facilities on offer but the gym could not be used during the day as way too hot, bedrooms, at least the ones I saw, were small, tired and did not have fridges or secure safe facilities and overlooked building utilities but were all charged at European 3* rates. But equally I did not visit other Bukhara hotels so I canât compare but in comparison to Samarkand and khiva, the accommodation was poor.
Superb choice if you like big hotels with amenities. Nise sized swimming pool can be real help after hot day of sightseeing in Bukhara. Rooms are splendid, clean. Noise doesn't pass through windows. Breakfast is excellent choice. Good coffee!
Not great at all...
Terrible Terrible Hotel
Avoid at all costs
We were a group of 7 with 4 rooms amongst us.
Superior room given to us on 1st and 6th floor (old rooms area). These rooms are pathetic and I strongly suggest not to stay in these rooms. Rooms are so small that only 1 child can stay. No place to keep bag or walk or even pray namaz.
Upon complaining and discussing with front desk, the owner of the hotel got involved and told us "Get Out of my hotel" "There are 500 hotels in the city".
Also A/C not working at all
Telephone in room and washroom not working
Dirty room with a lot of dust and dirt
Terrible
Words cannot justify our experience
Nice and centrally located hotel in Bukhara. Lot of amenity within the hotel. staff was friendly and cooperative. Pool and gym area are spacious. breakfast spread is good but at peak time there is a rush in restaurant and waiting time is more. busy hotel since lot of business related people also prefers the same.
We were with a tour group and stayed in the hotel for a night.
Hotel room is clean and spacious. There is a small convenience next to the hotel.
We loved the breakfast provided. Wide variety of food with egg station and many types of dried fruits, fresh fruits, bread, salad etc. The dining tables were decorated with nice colourful runner. Manager Mokhidil and staff were very attentive and helpful.
Highly recommended to stay.
Very disappointed with the hotel.
First impression as you enter the lobby is one of shock....tacky, run down .
Breakfast is appalling...very poor quality of food, fruit, ice cold eggs that were obviously prepared at 6am.
No proper breakfast room. Part of lobby taken over to serve breakfast???? Very strange .
Rooms very average. As you step out of elevator, on your floor, you find a cot on the landing. Why?
This hotel needs a total revamp. Certainly doesn't deserve the star rating that it's been given!
The hotel is 3 km far from the old town. It has a big indoor and outdoor pool. There are many things in the corners which do not seem to have a reason why they are there. Furniture, umbrellas, rubbish. Somebody wirh a careful eye should wander through this building. The lobby has a Glass roof. In order to provide shade the Management had the idea to put Black and dirty Bags on the roof. Looks disgusting.
Be prepared to use a taxi for all your trips. The rooms are spacious. The shower however is flooding the bathroom. There are many people around who are just presen. It took 4 people to check us in. Until a competent Lady took over. And after 15 Minutes we received the room key. Breakfast is from 7 to 10. If you come at 9, the Buffet is half empty. No eggs, but cold spaghettis, no bread, no plates, no kmives. But 5 people who are just standing there. We were asking for eggs. Answer: we dont have eggs anymore. At 9.15. ??? But again there was a young Lady with more enthusiasm who found 3 eggs after 15 Minutes. It is like in soviet times. The ones who know how to Do something they have to work. The others are just waiting for god knows what. I would chose another hotel for a stay in Buchara.
