PRISMA Hotel Burg Bollendorf

Gammalt klosterhotell, väldigt charmigt och vi fick lite mat på rummet fast restaurangen hade stängt när vi kom fram.
Ganska hårda sängar och bara en liten tunn kudde annars helt OK. Frukosten var fantastisk och ingick i priset

Très bon accueil. Même si à mon arrivée, il y a eu un petit couac, le personnel a tout de suite reconnu son erreur et on m'a transféré dans une chambre correspondante à ma réservation. Je recommande vivement les chambres confort.
Le service était très bien à tout niveau. Le petit déjeuner est très varié et très bon.
J'ai passé un excellent séjour. Le lieu est très calme, avec un étang entouré de verdure.

The hotel offers the accommodation in the castle,the attached building and bungalows.The quantity of bungalows is limited but they are very well equipped and thus suitable for family trips(2 bedrooms+living room+kitchen+bathroom).
The castle itself is nice but the furniture inside the rooms is from 80s,the same for the bathrooms.Everything is clean though.the restaurant is also furnished in an old fashioned way and might have been suitable to shooting one of the Derrick episodes inside.The staff is extremely helpful and polite.The food is very nice,the portions are generous.I would recommend eifel onion soup.However the menu is not updated that much.And the buffet breakfast is moderate and after 3 days you can get easily sick and tired of it.
Once I had a room in the attached building and there must have been the mice race on the ceiling and I could not sleep at all.The next day I changed the room.
There is also a bowling place,tennis court,the grill house and the lake but they are not in a good state.In fact,I doubt they are used.As far as I know the bowling was flooded.that is pitty because it could be at the end far better place.
The area is very quiet and it is a good place to start the tours from there.you can also rent the bikes there.

Plus points:
-Nice location with good view,
-the rooms are perfectly clean and
-the beds are very comfy
-the staff are very friendly helpful

Room for improvement:
-the interior decoration of the rooms does not do the "Burg" setting any justice, it looks rather functional and somewhat "1980s-ish"
-both breakfast and the restaurant are mediocre

In summary: ok for a night, but do not expect a romantic castle setting

burg bollendorf is a landhaus with remains of fortifications and a roman villa remains at the back of the property. we had an excellent large room with a living area furnished with antique style fittings and overlooking the valley to luxembourg .the view was exceptional .the entire area is peacefull and very good for walking or using the hotel as a base for exploring the delights of roman villas and scenic luxembourg.we ate in the excellent restaurant that offers smaller portions ( we find german portions too large )leaving space for a dessert .ask about the many different rooms and packages that are available and you can find an interesting offer.

A quite basic hotel, the rooms were nice & clean, the staff were very nice and helpful, we stayed here in the offf peak season so the restuarant was closed, I think if we had stayed here in the peak season it would have been much better.
I would definately like to revisit the region & possibly the hotel again for pleasure.
