Location was great! Easy to find and love that it is on the river. Beautiful! Rooms, clean and well maintained. Gentleman at the check in desk was very helpful and friendly. Truly enjoyed our stay.
We stayed a few nights here in order to visit Yellowstone as it is a 25-30min drive to the west entrance. It is nice, new hotel with spacious rooms and a decent gym (free weights, cable machine, bike, elliptical, treadmill). The staff are friendly and guests get free buffet breakfast (cereal, oatmeal, fruit, toast, eggs, sausage/bacon, potatoes, coffee etc). My only complaint was it seemed they need more staff both to help check in guests and at breakfast. The staff they had were working very hard, there were just alot of guests to attend to.
This was the most lovely hotel ever! Why? The staff was great, kind and helpful. Food options were great. We loved the ambiance of the outdoor fire pit by the Snake River. All around great experience !
We really enjoyed our stay at SpringHill Suites Island Park Yellowstone. The location worked very well for our Yellowstone trip and made it easy to get in and out of the park while still having a comfortable place to return to at the end of the day.
The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and relaxing after long days of sightseeing. The room had plenty of space for our family, and we appreciated having a reliable place to rest before heading back out the next morning.
The property is also in a beautiful area, surrounded by the scenery of Island Park, which made the stay feel like part of the trip rather than just a place to sleep.
I also want to mention Bridger Beard, the general manager. He was very responsive and helpful and made a real effort to make sure we had a good experience.
We would be happy to stay here again on a future Yellowstone trip.
Katie helped us get extra towels, she is the best and very nice.
Katie set up key cards for are whole family
A bit of a drive from Yellowstone but a great Marriott! Winlenose at the front desk was great and the breakfast crew was very attentive. The river access was a huge plus!
Katie M and Winter were extremely helpful. Great customer service. Appreciated their help in resolving an issue.
Our stay at SpringHill Suites by Marriott Yellowstone was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have had in recent years.
The location is excellent, and the public areas—including the lobby, outdoor spaces, and gardens—are modern, attractive, and well maintained. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end.
The breakfast was one of the poorest we have experienced at any Marriott hotel. The selection was extremely limited, the quality was disappointing, and it felt like every possible cost had been cut. Even small details reflected this approach—for a two-night stay with four guests, the room was stocked with only two coffee pods.
The room itself also had several issues. Multiple electrical outlets did not work, there was no housekeeping service during our two-night stay, and despite booking months in advance, we were assigned a room with a side view of the parking lot.
As Bonvoy Gold members, we are particularly disappointed with Marriott’s elite recognition. Across multiple Marriott stays this year—including Westin New York, SpringHill Suites Yellowstone, Marriott Chicago, and a previous stay in Naples, Florida—we have not received a single complimentary upgrade. While upgrades are subject to availability, the complete absence of any recognition over several stays makes the advertised Bonvoy benefits feel more like a marketing promise than a real loyalty program.
The overall experience also left us with the impression that international guests receive less consideration than domestic guests when it comes to room assignments and elite recognition. Whether or not this is Marriott’s policy, that is how it felt to us.
For a brand such as Marriott, we expected much more. The appearance of the hotel is attractive, but the service, breakfast, maintenance, and elite recognition fall well below the standard we have experienced with competing hotel groups, particularly Hilton.
Based on this experience, we are unlikely to choose Marriott Bonvoy again for future trips unless the company significantly improves the consistency between what it promises and what it delivers.
Very clean and modern. Very nice staff.
Facility is super clean and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Denise (in training from another facility) and Katie (FD) were especially friendly and kind.
Awesome stay! Everyone was so very friendly. The family suite was a great size for our family.. I do wish it had a stove top. There’s plenty of room for one. The breakfast this morning was helpful for starting out our day of hiking.
Something that would have been helpful is offering bear spray to guest. The Marriott in Whitefish did this and it was so helpful! We were just returning it each day, we returned to the hotel.
Overall, great stay!
Based on location, one night at this Marriott was not cheap. I love Marriott. I’m about a month away from Gold status, and I stay at Marriott because the experience is consistently a good one.
I mostly travel for business, but this was a family vacation. We stopped in Island Park for one night, with the original intent to float the river before heading to West Yellowstone, but weather looked like it might be less than ideal, so we rescheduled for a few days later. This is relevant, because it meant we’d have a lot more time just to chill at the hotel and use the amenities.
We decided to use the hot tub. My husband and son got in first. It was disgusting. Completely green with brown stuff floating in the bubbles and around the perimeter. My husband sent me a video. I posted it to AI and it gave me three potential water chemistry and maintenance issues. I went to the front desk to express my concerns. Spencer came out to address them, and I showed him the video. He said he had treated it an hour ago and it was good to go. He said they had a large group come in, and people tend to come in from the river and go into the hot tub, which results in dirt accumulation. I ran that response by AI, as well. It responded, “Oh Spencer… we appreciate the effort, but that’s is a bit of a stretch.” It said shocking it would take at least 12-24 hours to clear any algae, and that the brown organic foam and scum around the edges would require physical skimming, scrubbing, or a specialized enzyme treatment. Additionally, a body of water that green that was treated only an hour ago would likely have sky-high chlorine levels that could result in skin irritation, rashes, or burning eyes. The pool was in a similar state, so we ended up skipping both.
We decided to have some coffee, which is provided in the lobby, and sit on the deck. It was cold. Ok, so none of that.
We sat outside anyway. Then we went to dinner. When we got back, my husband sat outside and asked someone to start the fire pit. He was told it was broken, and they were waiting for a part. About an hour later an employee came out and started it (no part needed) By that time, he was getting ready to come in.
Why 3 stars? Because there were some pros. The people who work here are SO nice (including Spencer). The room was spacious and it was clean (though there was a large pink stain on the desk and the caulk was peeling away in the bath/shower). They were also able to provide foam pillows as one of us is allergic to feathers. Breakfast was good - everything I’d expect from Marriott.
Amazing staff
Very clean hotel
Got a nice upgrade :)
Beautiful views
I had an excellent experience at this hotel recently when I was stranded without a hotel room late at night with my daughter. Three of the desk employees went well out of their way to make sure we had a room for the night despite it being past the end of their shift. They put us in a beautiful room at a rate which was hundreds of dollars less than the hotels that we had looked at. The hotel lobby was trendy and welcoming, parking was abundant and easy to access, check in/check out was simple, and our room was quite, clean and amply stocked with amenities. The staff were really the highlight of our stay because they were so accommodating and kind. Excellent front desk staff! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this hotel. Everything was very clean, modern, and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was spacious and well maintained. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and had a great variety of options. The location is excellent, just a short drive from Yellowstone National Park, making it very convenient for exploring the area. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we truly enjoyed our stay.
Nothing. Everything was excellent.
