Pros:

It is an amazing place to stay, beautiful beach, pool and environs. Room was lovely. The staff were friendly.

Cons:

Its location is isolated which adds to the experience and beauty, how ever it was difficult to get out of. We felt trapped and if we wanted to eat outside of the resort or go sight seeing it was an expensive hassle. If I return which I will. I will rent a car and driver for the entire visit which would allow greater flexibility to enjoy the stay and work out cheaper than trying to negotiate smaller trips and outings to restaurants and other wonderful beaches and sights. We did end up organising a car and driver which was great but the hotel wasn't exactly helpful in that regard. Luckily I speak Indonesian and was able to sort it out easily. Overall we had a fantastic stay.

Pros:

Cons:

Eine luxuriöse Auszeit im Paradies
Pros:

Stunning nature, resort could use some updates
Pros:

I am torn recommending this resort as the beach, nature and pool was amazing, but the hotel itself definitely has some upgrades needed. For the price point it does what it needs to do, but could be so much better. This could be an absolutely incredible resort, but is missing the mark at the moment. With increased tourism coming from Singapore, they are going to need to up their game. I didn’t see a general manager around the property at all while I was here.

Came for 4 days on the 6am scoot flight from Singapore, Wednesday to Sunday. Got a Grab from the airport which was easy and around 35 mins. Given the number of people on that flight going to the Sheraton, it would make sense for them to have a shuttle bus. If you show your scoot ticket you get free breakfast that day.
Beach and nature are absolutely amazing and the major draw for the resort. Clear water and super white sand. Only 4 sets of beach loungers so you have to get early (before 7am) if you want to sit by the beach and not on the sand.

Pool is lovely, nice and big. Not enough umbrellas around the pool and it is hard to find shade in the afternoon.

The boat trip with blue mind was great. Half day was perfect, don’t think you need any more. They are located next to the restaurant so very easy for pick up and drop off. Can be arranged via WhatsApp. The islands we went to were incredible. I was surprised that the boats put their anchors into the coral and saw the guides standing in the coral. It will not remain a biosphere for very long with the way the boat trips are being handled and how busy some of the spots are. We also saw dolphins which was amazing but another tour group was circling them with their boat and chasing them down. The government of the island is going to need to put restrictions in place to protect it.

Food- not bad, was only here for 4 days but after that you would get bored. Only one restaurant for food and drinks so it gets a little repetitive. I saw people getting Grab food delivery. Pizza was really bad, but Indonesian food was done well. Good mocktails. Friday and Saturday night they do a fresh grilled seafood menu which was great! Really delicious and well cooked.

Staff are enthusiastic, very friendly and kind but service is very slow, orders got mixed up or forgotten. English is tricky for a few of them. I saw the same staff trying to do service in the restaurant, on the beach, around the pool and for room service. There is one guy who I think runs the restaurant who is very good, but that is a lot to cover for one person.

Rooms - super large and clean. Comfy beds. I had a garden room at the back of the hotel (room 2123) for $130 a night, but could hear the generator going non stop which is pretty noisy. Zero sound proofing so could hear people coming and going, my neighbours having a shower, and chatting with their children at 6am. Next time I would book one of the two beachfront villas with private pools as would be a lot quieter. The rooms had these lovely Outdoor bathtubs but they can’t be used as there is no privacy.

Given the hotel is within a unesco biosphere area, I was surprised at the level of rubbish on the beach, and the use of plastic water bottles in the rooms. The beach could be cleaned up very easily by the hotel.

Music in the restaurant was top 40 and didn’t really match the vibe of the resort.

Spa - had a nice massage, nothing to write home about but was fine.

Overall, I had a lovely solo couple of days but definitely a few things that could be upgraded.

Sea, Sand and Not really much sunshine at Belitung
Pros:

I have no idea how's the place and the island at all, it was more like drop me there and see how it make it thingy.
But the hotel staff were very good and helpful, they were at the airport ready to meet and pick me up at the early morning of 6am. Takes away my concern of what and how to get to the hotel

The atmosphere of the place is very friendly, cheerful and feel their enthusiasm to make the guest at home.

Rooms is spacious, clean, comes with coffee machine !! 2 item i think they can improve on are
a. The slipper - maybe can give 1 bigger size 1 the "normal size"
b. The air condition seems to be colder then normal not sure if they can adjust it

I enjoyed the activity they have, especially the island hopping. Even it was raining day. The guide were able to show me the interesting sites, explain to me the various island and their individual history and specialty fishes around it.

Water at the beach were super clear, great for beach snorkeling or just dip in the comfortable water.

They have transfer that can be arranged for you if you want to get out of the resort and visit the town area. Which is great for you to get to know the island better.

Could be a great resort, but not currently
Pros:

This could be a great resort, but it's not currently. Staff are really terrific, the architecture is great, the location on the beach is great, the beach itself is great, the breakfast selection generally pretty high quality and varied (great bread, ok coffee). There are a few negatives however:
(1) It's remote, which is not necessarily a negative, but there are really no other restaurants/bars around it, so needs a shuttle either to the other beach around the bay or into town, just ... something. People don't want to go through the whole production of organising private transport just to get a change of scenery
(2) I'll bet money that the management team here do not drink alcohol. By estimate, over my 4 days at the Sheraton, about 20-25% of the guests were bules. Bules generally drink. There is nowhere outside the restaurant that is welcoming, where you can have a drink. There are places with chairs and tables, outside the restaurant, in the Library, around the bar by the pool, but they were all abandoned, looking like they were about to be reclaimed by nature. The library is a nice space, but you have to get the aircon turned on, get the attention of the restaurant staff - it's just not a place where you feel like sitting down for a couple of drinks. And the alcohol itself: three types of white wine by the glass (same brand): a chardonnay, which they ran out of, a rose (not white wine), and a moscato (I have never actually met a fellow wine drinker who drinks moscato by choice). So a wine drinker is going to be pretty unhappy here. One beer - Bintang. They didn't have any rum, so the daiquiri on the menu was unavailable. The margherita was a margherita but not a good one. Guys - get your act together. Put some staff at the abandoned bar by the pool, get a routine, some music, candles or something, I don't know, SOMETHING. The library is a good start but while it's physically attractive, it's not inviting.
(3) I feel like getting some scheduled nature walks happening would be a good idea. Group bike ride perhaps. Charge for them - I'd pay. Need a few things to do
