Its history and comfort. The room was clean and well stocked with a selection of teas and coffee. Good bathroom facilities and toiletries supplied. Lovely breakfast options, with excellent service. EV charging was free
Bar didn’t have any atmosphere but staff were attentive.
Comfy bed, good shower, good quality linens and furnishings, clean, bar and restaurant on site, lots of nooks to sit in, characterful breakfast room, parking on site, very friendly and welcoming staff, good range of breakfast options including very tasty eggs royale.
The only thing was the veggie sausage at breakfast - one of those made of potato and veg not a protein based one like quorn.
Beautiful hotel with amazing interiors - loved the fabrics on the cushions and soft furnishings. I highly recommend buying some cheese from the little shop next to reception.
