need to climb up stairs, parking is not free but didn’t tell us to pay resulting penalty from authority, toilet and blanket cover are quite stained.
The hotel was generally clean and there was an A/C in there so it was comfortable at night. The shower was pretty good, with a decent pressure, and the bed was comfortable. The staff let us leave our suitcases on the last day so we could go out until we had to leave for the airport.
The first room I was in had a thin window opening up to an incredibly noisy A/C unit from the nearby Pizza Hut, which I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep through.
I went down to ask if I could swap rooms, and was initially told I couldn't (or there was some kind of implication that I'd have to pay for a completely new room). When I went back again, the person on the desk said they'd have to ask their supervisor. When I came back from our meal, I found that all they were asking for was a 20 RM cleaning charge, which for a westerner wasn't very much (although the fact that they have rooms with such noisy fans outside them is in itself a bit much). So it was resolved eventually, but it would have been nice to take my complaint on board properly at the start (possibly a language barrier problem, because I don't speak Malay, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and would probably stay here again given the chance).
It seemed like most of the rooms didn't have windows (maybe the more expensive ones did, not sure).
The other slight negative was a lack of lift for hauling heavy luggage, but this is on the spec I think so we knew about that.
- Place was in the middle of the city.
- Many food options nearby the hotel, so no food provided would not be an issue
- Also many convenience stores nearby.
- Room was very big, could probably fit more than 3 people for our room.
- Parking at night looks a bit sketchy on weekdays because there are not that many people
- No elevator, so might be a bit hard for wheelchairs and the disabled
- Kuala Selangor itself does not really have much so not a lot to do at night other than rest.
The place is so clean and good for money.
The room was so comfy.
