Pleasant stay in great location
Pros:

I love to stay in CitizenM hotels and this stay was also pleasant. The location is great, room is nice as always and service in the lobby was also great.

Cons:

Compared to the CitizenM hotels in Europe, the ones in US have very limited breakfast choices, so I'm not sure if I would include it next time. The service in canteen was also not comparable to service in European hotels, regarding openness or friendliness. Perhaps its just a cultural difference. In this hotel you can also hear what's happening in the corridor and even people taking shower (probably above us). Fortunately we stayed during the week, so it was relatively quiet.

Pros:

The staff member. I didn't catch her name when I first checked in. She was a delight. She was a light-skinn young woman with a ponytail, locked hair and wore glasses. I checked in on Thursday the 26th of February and I would even say the night staff the young gentleman. He was very nice.

Cons:

The room was decent for my staying for a solo travel. Great location near everything. Walking distance, quick Ubers or lifts. The only thing is the cleanliness of the room. It was Dusty. The tablet was dirty. It could be a little bit more clean also when asking for towels if they could give hand towels as long with the body towels. I'm not sure if it was just a DC thing but the water in the room had a odor but I don't believe that's the hotels issue. Friday night I wanted to dine in at the bar and the staff members there were rude. The tall light skin gentleman wear glasses in locks. I walked up to the bar. He did not greet me. He literally walked away. A young woman who was serving the other patrons announced to her other coworker. I'm about to go on break after they saw me sit down and start looking at the menu so I got up and I left. I'm not going to spend my money somewhere where staff members don't want it.

Pros:

Great location, comfortable, clean and quiet room for a short layover between flights, close to lots of parks and sights, which was exactly what I was looking for, at a competitive price.

2 minute walk to the Metro and 3 minutes Air and Space and National Mall.
Pros:

Great location, friendly staff and good breakfast.

Cons:

Upstairs bar was a little too pretentious.

I wouldn't do it again - that's for sure
Pros:

Bar staff was friendly and the drinks were made well.

Cons:

Room was way too small and I had to get in and out of bed by hopping over my partner. That was uncomfortable. Also, the bathroom was a shell which made using it in the morning extremely awkward. I don't understand the thinking behind that type of setup. Lastly, the parking - 50$! Ugh.

Cute microtel in an excellent location, but bring your own amenities.
Pros:

It’s close to the National Mall and it was in a safe part of town. The small rooms are perfect for one person and a good value for the location.

Cons:

The amenities were lacking in the room. I understand it’s a value hotel, but the cleaning crew didn’t change the sheets when they cleaned and the shower didn’t have soap.

Clean, safe comfortable and location, location, location!
Pros:

Clean, comfortable and an excellent location affording us the opportunity to walk to major sites around the mall and governmental buildings. We were very pleased with CitizenM on School Street in Washington DC.

Cons:

It would be great to have a complimentary breakfast. I would have been happy to pay a little more for the option.

Funky, fun place to stay!
Pros:

This is one of the most fun places I have stayed at in a while. It reminds me of some European hotels with its funky decor. The common areas are inviting and engaging — a place to hang out for a while. The coffee/breakfast area is unique as well. It is not your typical continental breakfast.

Does it really need to be that high tech?

It was a bit high tech for me. Also I was asked to pay having already paid so I am due a refund. As I am unable to check my account for this i am hoping I have been refunded automatically...

Best hotel I've ever stayed at!
Pros:

I really loved how clean it was. The floors included which is rare in hotels. The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved the shower. Having a detachable shower head made it feel like home! They also decorated the room for my birthday which was so incredibly sweet. The location was incredible too, we were able to walk everywhere and see the majority of museums as well as the national mall. We were also a very short walk to the metro to see everything else in the city and to the airport.

Cons:

The bed was taped in a weird spot at the head of the bed which felt odd, the air conditioning wasn't very strong either.
