Igloo Beach Lodge

Love everything about this place.

I booked Igloo Beach Lodge with high expectations, but my experience was extremely disappointing and unsafe. Our room had no hot water, and despite trying for over an hour, it never worked. We attempted to call multiple numbers, but no one answered. The security guard informed us that no staff would be available until 9:30 AM, leaving us with no way to reach anyone in case of an emergency.

We had to go to another hotel just to shower. Expedia also attempted to help, but the property has been unresponsive to Expedia’s multiple calls and emails. I did not receive any reply from the hotel until the following day around 10:45 AM.

On top of that, the walls are extremely thin — you can hear everything from surrounding rooms and outside, which made it difficult to sleep and enjoy any peace and quiet.

Hot water is a basic necessity, and having no staff or way to contact anyone overnight is extremely unsafe. While the property later apologized, this does not change the fact that guests were left without essential services, emergency support, or proper communication.

I cannot recommend staying here, especially for travelers who value safety, reliability, and rest.

Great friendly staff. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, walked to the gorgeous beach. Room accommodations were fantastic and breakfast was even better! I highly recommend this charming little hotel!!

Loved the place

We loved this place! Stayed on a family vacation with me and my 13 year-old, and it was great - appropriate for couples, families, etc. The pool was great, the location on the beach was awesome. The igloos were so cool - cozy, but enough room to move around and hang out. Breakfast at the hotel was delish. We would highly recommend to anyone going to Manuel Antonio!!

Honestly one of the best places to stay in the area! Super peaceful, 3 minutes from the beach, restaurant in and around are delicious! Great staff and super chill people. Pura vida amigos!

The staff was wonderful. Expedia placed in a room ( most likely AI ) we did not reserve and they fixed it immediately. The included breakfast had many options and the location was perfect for us to try many things in the area and surrounding areas.

Nice hotel

One of the best stays we've had!
This property was truly exceptional—unique, cozy, and impeccably clean. It's just a 5-minute walk to the beach and a short 5-minute drive to the national park. The on-site pool is perfect for relaxing, and the property even has its own charming restaurant with a full menu, great drinks, and friendly staff. Unlike typical hotels, this place offers a peaceful, uncrowded atmosphere that's perfect for unwinding. There’s also ample parking and a security guard on-site, which made us feel even more comfortable. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at the Igloo Beach Hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and everybody was very helpful, especially Emily. The food in the restaurant is delicious. There is a beautiful pool right in the center of the hotel. It is surrounded by the jungle and we saw beautiful birds and monkeys throughout the day. The property and rooms are kept clean and tidy. It’s only about a five minute walk to a local beach. It is about a 15 minute walk to the town of Manuel Antonio, where you can shop and visit restaurants. There is a bus station, literally right in front of it so you can travel further easily if you’d like. They made going out on excursions very easy and helped facilitate all of our tours and transportation. We would absolutely recommend this hotel. 10/10

Everything was amazing here! The beach is gorgeous and the breakfast in the mornings was the most delicious breakfast i have ever had at a hotel

Do not stay at this property, numerous lies on the property information website. Including that it says there was a gym when there wasn’t and this was a key criteria for our stay. They also included reference to concierge which we assumed meant cleaning but no service was available and we had to go to another hotel. There was a power outage in our room which meant no AC

Not great value for money. There is no proper reception area nor staff, and the rooms are very basic. Food quality was average.

Very nice place and highly recommended for families and couples

We had 3 nights booked and left after one, and just ate the cost of the other two. The pictures definitely make it look a lot nicer than it was. We had an ant infestation in our room. The food at the restaurant was also pretty terrible. We travelled all over Costa Rica and this was the only poor stay.

This is a great hotel in the Manuel Antonio area. We would definitely stay here again. Alan at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and the pool was a perfect way to spend a hot day here. The restaurant has incredible food too!

The igloo rooms reverberate sound so if you are sharing a room, it can be very disruptive especially when sleeping.
