We've been before and will probably go again
Pros:

The location is good for access to the resort facilities. The hotel was spotless and the staff very good

Cons:

We were allocated a first floor room in an adjacent annex. This had no lift-not very good as we have ageing knees.
Not too concerned that the room had no view but the constant noise from seagulls nesting on nearby properties (e.g. the grubby-looking Travelodge and Grand hotels which don't seem to take basic seagull deterring methods) led to poor night's sleep

Central location.
Pros:

The hotel is situated a short walk from the railway station and is central for the shops, restaurants and bars. Check in was quick and easy. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The room was on the first floor and was clean and well equipped. We visited the bar for a drink, which was reasonably priced. We did not eat, but the food looked good. Breakfast was good with a varied choice of both hot and cold food and drinks. We checked out, but was able to leave our luggage until the teatime.

Cons:

Nothing.

Have now stayed North and South Bay. If you want a good nights sleep stay North Bay. South Bay ‘plagued’ by noisy seagul
Pros:

Very Friendly and helpful staff. Public areas were clean and comfortable.
Bedroom bed very comfy. Facilities in room excellent.

Cons:

The small double rooms were very dark. Lighter colour scheme in line with the overall ‘theme’ would make them feel brighter.
Some of the skirting boards could do with a good jiff.

Pros:

I love staying at Bike & Boot. Appreciate that it’s dog friendly and the cinema room.

Cons:

Breakfast could be better for the price. There’s barely anything to eat. Needs more protein, for now it’s basically eggs and cold cuts

Lovely atmosphere and excellent location, but several small issues and a lack of attention to detail meant it didn’t fee
Pros:

We’d heard good things about the Bike & Boot hotels, both in Scarborough and the Peak District, and decided to give the Scarborough hotel a try.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and is in a great location, right next to the bridge leading down to the beach, making it really easy to explore Scarborough on foot. We knew we’d booked a cosy double with no sea view, which suited us perfectly for a one-night stay. We also appreciated the fan in the room, along with the iron, hairdryer and selection of snacks and drinks available to purchase.

Our evening meal was enjoyable overall. We’d definitely recommend the burrata, olives and hummus starter, and the fruit yoghurt pots at breakfast were delicious.

Cons:

As first-time guests who had travelled over three hours to stay, we felt it was assumed we already knew how everything worked. On arrival, the member of staff said he was there to help with self check-in, but when I asked how it worked, I was simply told, “Don’t worry about that,” without any explanation. He then spent his time chatting to guests and fussing over their dogs in the bar area, so we ended up working the check-in process out ourselves.

Although the team were smiley and welcoming, we weren’t told about breakfast times, luggage storage, complimentary hot drinks or any of the hotel facilities. We only discovered at checkout that complimentary tea and coffee had been available throughout our stay when we mentioned needing extra teabags for the room.

The room itself could do with a little more attention to detail. The window only stayed open with a block of wood, there was no extractor fan in the bathroom, the shower leaked onto the floor, the sealant around the shower looked untidy, and the blind didn’t fit the window properly. The blind pull cord had also come apart, which I had to fix before we could use it.

Service in the restaurant started well but became less attentive as more staff came on shift. We waited quite a while for our bill while several staff were chatting together near the bar, before another member of the team noticed and came over to help.

Breakfast was disappointing. The pastries were dry and hard, the bacon looked grey and unappetising, there was very little fruit left by 9am, there was no tea available and only tubs of Flora rather than butter for toast.

At £131 for one night, we didn’t feel the overall experience reflected the price. Another guest also mentioned they’d experienced the lights tripping in their room, so it may simply have been one of those weekends where the hotel was under a bit more pressure than usual. Even so, we felt there were too many small issues that affected the overall experience.

Pros:

Room and bed was great.

Cons:

Breakfast was quite bad - not much to eat and was not restocked. No fresh fruits and vegetables left. Eggs watery, bacon soggy.

Also room was very warm.
