Idyllisches Hotel im Innern. Bestes Zimmer der gesamt Reise
Pros:

Großartige Erreichbarkeit aller Orte in Kyoto. Essen, Shopping, Kultur und Erholung in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Ruhige Lage. Fußläufig zum Bahnhof und insbesondere zum Tou-Ji Tempel mit der berühmten hohen Pagode.
Junges, nettes Team. Großes wunderschönes Zimmer.

Very busy but lovely stay in Kyoto
Pros:

Great place within walking distance of the train station. Staff were lovely and everything was clean. The bathroom size was good with a family of 4. For Kyoto the room was good value and nice touch to have tea and coffee, and other useful items available as well as a shared microwave.

Cons:

The only down side was space for luggage in the room and the shared dryer wasn’t very efficient.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet part of Kyoto
Pros:

Family room with two normal beds and a tatami area with two futons. Room was nicely designed with good lighting, and also very clean. We looked forward to returning at the end of a busy day in Kyoto.

Cons:

If you're looking to stay in the middle of the action, this is not the place for you. It's actually about a 10 minute walk from Kyoto station and a 5 minute walk from the nearest konbini (Lawson). It's in a very quiet residential area. For us, it was actually a relief to come back to a quiet area after dodging fellow tourists in Kyoto all day.

Wonderful traditional Japanese experience with a great staff
Pros:

A traditional Japanese Kyoto lodging experience. The room for a family of 3 was very comfortable and spacious by Japanese standards. We loved the tatami raised common space and the flat beds (very firm and comfortable). After a long day walking and seeing the sites it was great to come back to quiet and relaxing space. The back glass door looks into a pocket garden which added to the experience. The room has all the modern amenities of a mini refrigerator, electric kettle, TV, AC/Heat, plugs and great bathroom.

The hotel is located in a residential area where several major roads, train and commuter lines run through. I never heard any outside noise. On the hand it was handy to walk to the local Family Mart, coffee shop, bus stop and green space.

Last thing, the staff was top notch and hard working. They maintain the front desk and also clean the rooms. Super friendly and eager to help. We had a delayed language which the airline delivered to the hotel. The staff received it while we were out and stored it safely and notified us when it arrived. I highly recommend the Mandoka Kyoto for your Kyoto stay.

Cons:

Not a major compliant. The hotel is about a 15min walk from the Kyoto Train Station (about a 1/2 mile walk). If you are traveling with big suitcases with wheels the walk to the hotel is challenging with pedestrians, bicycles, uneven sidewalks and traversing several intersections.

A great stay in a great nook in Kyoto
Pros:

Incredibly clean and a very hospitable staff. Never had to worry for much (even when we accidentally locked ourselves out on day two).

Cons:

The dryer didn’t dry my clothes even after an hour, but that’s not against the facility itself. I’m happy they even had a dryer, but my clothes were still wet and I had to bring them upstairs to air dry because other people were waiting for the machine.
