Hampton Inn Franklin, NC

The hot breakfast was very nice.

I was a bit ambivalent about staying at this smaller Hampton Inn. The exceptional customer service made it a great stay. First we were in a room with what sounded like a very large dog next door. I love dogs, but not when the bark and I’m trying to sleep. We were moved immediately to a very quiet room. After checking out, I realized I’d left something in the room. The desk clerk made a new key without showing any irritation, and it caused extra work for her because I was in a rush. The room was clean, and the bed and bedding very comfortable. I recommend this hotel.

We traveled to North Carolina for a friend’s wedding and to celebrate our son’s birthday. We arrived at this hotel around midnight with our two children (ages 7 and 5), and our 7-year-old had broken his arm just five hours earlier. After an incredibly stressful day, we just needed a clean, safe place to sleep.

The moment we opened the door, the room smelled overwhelmingly like urine. It was so bad that our children wouldn’t even stay in the room while we figured out what to do. As we looked around, we found food left in the drawer under the microwave, debris on the carpet, floors that clearly hadn’t been mopped, and the entire room felt damp and dirty.

The rest of the property wasn’t any better. The hallway carpet was filthy and looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in quite some time. There was duct tape on electrical outlets, more duct tape on the carpet, and the hallway had a strong bleach and ammonia odor that was overwhelming.

We immediately requested a refund because the room was clearly not in acceptable condition. We were told it couldn’t be done, so we had no choice but to leave in the middle of the night and pay for another hotel.

The next day, my husband returned to speak with the manager, but the manager refused to even come out and talk to him. One of the employees told him that this has happened before and that the manager regularly refuses to refund guests, even when there are legitimate complaints.

We never stayed in the room because it was not fit to occupy. We paid for a room we couldn’t use and were treated with complete indifference when we tried to resolve the situation.

I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else. Cleanliness, customer service, and accountability were all completely unacceptable.

Beds were wonderful - a little high to climb into but very comfortable.
Breakfast was very good, great selection.

Very friendly

Locations was convenient to Smokey Mountain Center of Performing Arts concert we attended.

The bed was comfortable, the wardrobe was nice, the refrigerator worked well, and I liked that I could darken the room really well. The space could have been larger. Also I would have appreciated a small table with chairs for eating in the room.

Very wonderful place. Clean not over room deodorizers. Breakfast could be better with some bacon lol. Lol.

Staff, very friendly

Room was needing a refresh. A/C was not functioning right, wouldn't shut off, and smelled bad. There had been a leak at the window over it and had not been repaired. Looked like it was mold on it from the moisture.

Twice tried calling the front desk to ask them to do something about it and they never answered. When I finally walked down, to tell them about the A/C they claimed they never heard the phone. They never sent anyone to fix it.

The smell was through the whole hallway as well. Last choice hotel.

The location was convenient to downtown. The rooms were very comfortable. The people working at Reception were very welcoming. Parking is convenient. Pet friendly!

Clean and friendly

The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and the check in clerk was friendly. It was also nice that the ice maker actually worked on our floor! I have stayed at some hotels and the ice maker would be out of order.
