Little lovely gem hotel
Pros:

We spent four lovely days staying at the hotel. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and bright, even though (and this was my mistake when booking) it was on the top floor! The only slight drawback was that I found the toilet bowl wasn’t perfectly clean, but I sorted it out myself with some disinfectant.
Otherwise, we had a brilliant time; the breakfasts were fantastic – a joy for the eyes and for… the tummy! Last but not least, the kindness and helpfulness of Becky and all the staff! The Pier Hotel is a little gem, decorated in a sailing style, and I particularly loved the beautiful mirrors! I highly recommend this hotel and we’ll definitely be back in the future!

Cons:

Nothing in particular, but I’d advise the room cleaning staff to take more care when cleaning the toilets (it’s just my professional perspective).

The staff were pleasant and it was quiet and friendly.

Cons:

Guest room had no headboard on the bed, no bedside table - turned an empty waste paper basket upside down and used that. The room smelt musty and felt so sorry for them due to the road looking like a war zone. Hotel next door had broken windows boarded up and the hotel opposite was burnt out. I was a little in shock turning into the road because obviously this was not in pictures. Thankfully I had a sea view which made my stay less of a shock. I would have hoped for more warning.

We paid the same money as our friends who had the honeymoon suite for a small room with no bath, we were sold the breakfast as the best in Clacton and it was inedible, really poor quality ingredients, bottomless drinks included only if you can manage to force the first one down! Absolutely awful, pleasant stay but more about who we were with than the accommodation

Clean and friendly family hotel
Pros:

Manager really helpful, property very clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay with kids. Fridge, freezer, cutlery etc.

Cons:

Needed a hairdryer although didnt ask and they may have had one.
