Excellent staff, hands down. The pop-up Lobby happy hour was great opp to socialize. Rooftop bar is insane at sunset and live music in the basement bar was a treat.
Super location, right in the heart of Downtown Bozeman - 1 min walk to the main drag
Staff - especially all the crew in the kitchen and restaurant - superb all of them, possibly the highlight of the hotel
Restaurant - tried the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner during a 1 week stay - all superb (apart from the more "healthy" options at breakfast - they couldn't seem to deliver an impressive granola and yoghurt (which just happens to be our daily go to back home), but otherwise, faultless and good value
The bed - not level (so head lower than feet) and some bright thinker, reckons putting an uncovered duvet in between 2 separate loose sheets is some form of premium sleep experience - it took minutes sometimes to untangle yourself from the sheets to get in and out - just weird, but perhaps its a North American thing? Anyway, please just give us a duvet with a proper cover on and forget the sheet sandwich please!
The service charge of £200/day that we didn't get good value from
Bathroom starting to show its wear
Overpriced for what it is/what you get (notwithstanding its great location in a cool town)
Location and general feel
No
Centrally located,
we asked for the sheets to be changed after finding hair in it. Couldn’t open windows as they forgot to put back levers (though the maintenance personnel was really kind). I asked for a package to be held and they didn’t. It was hundreds of dollars in shipping gone, and they never explained or apologized even though they had written they would hold it for me.
Great location in the heart of Bozeman. NIce hotel with clean, spacious rooms. Would stay here again.
All good
Very clean, staff friendly, got me my extra pillow!
All good
Amazing checkin experience with Eric. Facility is 5 star with polite and professional staff. The room is very nice. Will return with family A+++
Really wanted to love it but didn’t. First night, had to call front desk to get my shower to work. Someone turned it so tightly off I couldn’t move it. Then the elevators went down. Then I tried to use my key to go to the top floor my last day only to find out I wasn’t able to (I hadn’t even checked out yet).
Long story short. It’s over priced for what you get. Would not go back with everything that happened don’t trust I’d get what I paid for.
So overall it's a good hotel, but it is very over-priced for what you get. And it doesn't seem up to the Kimpton-level of decor. Once you get inside your room - it's a newer Holiday Inn design, furnishings, limens and towels. Every other Kimpton I have stayed in has had cool design elements and top-quality materials, but at this Kimpton those were just average.
The top-level bar and restaurant are nice and have good views, but there were dead plants needing to be trimmed in the planters and some of the benches were filled with construction materials for some project.
The fridge is pre-stocked, which left little room for my things. Although I consumed nothing from the fridge, there was a charge (removed) for having taken something from the fridge. I was never able to change the thermostat from Cool to Heat and the thermostat has a VERY bright light.
Good Things - All of the staff were great and friendly, from the Hotel Manager to the server on the roof-top bar. There was an amenity plate of fruit and cookies in the room. The location is great for wandering around downtown Bozeman.
There is no on-site parking and it is a $50 fine for leaving your vehicle on the street overnight (my bad for missing one of four city parking signs.)
I might stay here again, but there are other downtown hotels that don't charge a Kimpton premium.
I spent two nights at the Amory Kimpton. There is much to like about this hotel. It is a beautiful and architecturally interesting hotel in a great location - just a block from the main street. It has a lovely rooftop pool, and the speakeasy in the basement features great life music. The room was nice and comfortable, and the staff was welcoming and attentive. My room came with breakfast, and the food was great.
But it does not get 5 stars for two big reasons. First, the housekeeping was awful, and this extended to all 3 rooms my group occupied. I don't think you could really describe it as housekeeping. The covers were pulled up haphazardly on the bed as opposed to "making the bed". Dirty glasses were left in the room, and not replaced with clean glasses. They did have Nespresso maker in the room which I love, but every day I had to call down and ask for more capsules, as they did not service the coffee bar. On the final day they just informed me that they had run out of coffee (weird - as there are plenty of stores in the area, and they could have sent somebody to buy more). Perhaps they are having staffing issues?
The other issue were the elevators. On the day I arrived one broke down, and was out of service for my entire stay. Not sure what their options are (I would have paid overtime to get it working if I was management and that was possible), but given the popularity of the place it was a big problem. Huge lines of people were gathered around the elevators, and it could take a long time to get to your room.
This hotel has the potential to be great, and I think it would be if the above issues are addressed.
The old National Guard Armory has been repurposed to a 5-star hotel. It lives up to the Kimpton reputation for comfort and spaciousness.
Airport shuttle.
