An option if you can't get accomm in Basel or are needing a stop on a long drive
Pros:

I needed somewhere to pull up for the night after a long day's drive and Stein was the perfect stop, just outside of Basel (30-35 min drive). The room was tidy and it was a convenient stay.

Cons:

The self-check-in feature I found confusing...not for the process of checking in, but I was confused where the rooms were. Turns out they are in the same building that you check-in...you just have to look for a door that says "Rooms". There are apartments all around it so at first I thought I might have to access the room from the exterior. Thankfully I found someone out for a smoke that was able to point me in the right direction. So, just a bit more clarity for those travellers like me would be grand. Also, the vestibule that you check-in smelt like a smoker's den, which put me off initially but I'm pleased to report the smell did not carry into the hotel.
