Affordable. Clean. No complaints.
On May 27th, during the reservation process, we revealed that we were traveling with a cat. We were assured by the reservation agent that a cat would be acceptable at the Clarkston Motel 6. As part of our due diligence, we made a special phone call to the Clarkston Motel 6 front desk to verify that a cat was acceptable for our visit. We were assured that the reservation agent was correct and our cat would be acceptable. We then sent a message to the Clarkston Motel 6, through Booking.com, that we were traveling with a cat and had verified with the reservation agent and the front desk personnel that our cat was acceptable. We did not receive any further communication from the Clarkston Motel 6 at this time.
On June 25th, less than 24 hours before our scheduled and paid for visit to the Clarkston Motel 6, we were informed that our cat would not be allowed to stay at the facility. We were told that our only option would be to cancel our reservation and forfeit our already completed payment.
This put us in a very difficult situation, which required a change to our previously scheduled plans and required us to locate an alternative lodging at very short notice and additional expense.
We have stayed at other Motel 6's in the past. However, due to this experience and the very poor communication from the Clarkston Motel 6, we will never consider making reservation with any other Motel 6 in the future.
At the very least, the Clarkston Motel 6 owes us a complete refund for the room we paid for but were not allowed to use.
Location
Even though I’d called after booking to make sure they knew I had a pet, they didn’t reflect it on my reservation! The room we were moved to only had one set of towels… the door had been busted at one time and didn’t close properly…
Okay place to sleep one night.
Needs much maintenance. Manager was trying to help but they are short a maintenance person. Sink in room had a plugged drain and housekeeping should have notified manager.
Plenty of parking.
The room is a bit small but it's still convenient.
You're right next to shops and fast food/restaurants which is good (convenient) and bad (noisy+traffic)
It's not the best area and/or people are just not the best in the area/in the hotel.
Rather small for the money and the mattress seemed old.

Quiet, the staff was great and fixed the problem.
Our first rooms bed had dog hair all over and bed was stiff!. Crumbs on the floor and some ants. Obviously no one cleaned. Also the hot tub was down and was looking forward to using it.

Swimming pool was broke and hot tub and that was the only reason I chose the hotel. No where did it disclose that they were broke. They have double charged me for a room I prepaid for on bookings. So now I’m having to call and try to get them to take the charges off my credit card. Just an unnecessary headache. Check in was incredibly hard. New lady did her best but frustrating none the less.
Hotel is dated. Beds were comfortable and shower/water pressure was great. Location was convenient to restaurants, Costco, grocery store, and walk paths along river. It was quiet.
The room could use new paint.
