Lovely welcome from a staff member named Adam, room was very quiet and comfortable. Room needed a bit of an upgrade but was fine for the price. The only issue is the water pressure, it was practically a trickle coming out of the shower and luke warm on the hottest setting.
I stayed for work purposes, so was an excellent location for me. The hotel is located near a busy road, yet it is so quiet inside! The staff are efficient, helpful and friendly. The room, although basic (what would you expect for the price?) was clean, warm, cosy and very comfortable. The bed was probably the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a very long time, as were the pillows. I can’t really fault the place, complete value for money, I can’t believe they charge so little! I cannot comment on breakfast as I didn’t take it. Would definitely recommend.
Son and girlfriend booked in to stay here for to see in the new year, through booking.com. When booking she had to verify her age (17). They went to the embassy, Newcastle, after work tonight and were refused access as you need to be 18. This was not stipulated when booking. She went there for an overnight stay to see in the new year but was turned away for this reason. I even rang the hotel, as a family member to ask if they could stay but still it was a NO. I've messaged booking.com as no answer on the telephone. She sat in the hotel car park and cried for a good hour while her boyfriend rang around. Unfortunately, there was nothing available anywhere, so they had to head home. Such a shame.
The hotel room was a good size and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We received the Free breakfast (to go) offer which was good. Enough to choose from with a few coffee shop style tables to eat at. It was a few minutes drive to the Metro and approx 10 mins to Newcastle. Overall it was a good experience and we would book this hotel again.
Decent hotel and ideal location not in the city centre but not to far away from the night life. Prices are great value. Exceptionally clean by louise and the other staff on shift were all chatty and welcoming.
Excellent! The hotel is a little tired looking but our four night stay was just perfect . All the staff are so friendly and welcoming , nothing is to much trouble for them .
They helped us out numerous times when we asked for advice / help to navigate this lovely area.
We felt they were genuinely interested in where we had been and if we’d had a good day .
The cold breakfast at the price was amazing so much choice and well presented , in fact we questioned how you could do it at that cost .
When we came to check out the lady asked if we were ready to get home to our own beds ? But we actually felt like we wanted to stay longer , so we are definitly coming back next year to finish off what we didn’t get to see .
Well done all of the team for making our stay so memorable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
+ reasonably priced
+ free parking
+ decent pub next door serving food
+ very friendly staff
- quite dated, verging on shabby
- breakfast is very basic
- noisy location particularly if your room is at the back as it backs onto a very busy road.
- the heater in our room (23) didn’t work.
Just an overnight stay before dropping iff our son at Newcastle Uni digs. Ample free parking. A very friendly and helpful receptionist. From the decor it looked like the hotel was a premier inn in a former life. Just needs a bit of tlc and updating, but was more than adequate for us, very comfortable beds resulting in a very giod sleep.
Very basic hotel, similar to a Premier Inn.
Staff were friendly and helpful, but the outside area was dirty with lots of rubbish, which really let it down.
Served its purpose for two nights for a wedding locally, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
The bathroom had too many hairs in it and the people at reception need some customer service training.Otherwise the stay for 1 night was not bad.
Staff great
tried to charge £10 for 30 minute early check in which is ridiculous other than that it wasn’t too bad probably won’t stay again though
Could hear steps in room above.
Loud sounds along corridor but it did seettle down
Lets say I wouldn't stay there again.
This is an excellent, value for money budget hotel. Most facilities are at par with what you would expect from a budget hotel but most outstanding feature is its very helpful staff. Adam is a star. He went above and beyond with anything we needed help with. All other staff we interacted with - Sumit, Helen, Caroline - were all very kind and helpful. Kudos to the management for hiring such awesome people.
The next door pub waggon team is also an asset, good food at reasonable prices.
Convenient location, felt safe, plenty of parking - couldn’t ask for more.
First off the review is for my experience we had it’s not for the hotel as it’s not a 4 star.
Great location just off the A1, close to shops also.
We arrived quite late but there was plenty of car parking spaces which was good, next door was pub which served food which is ideal. Entry via a key card or intercom so it felt safe. Through the door to reception where there was a few tables and chairs for breakfast.
Adam was on reception we were greeted with a smile he asked how our day had been and if we had drove far we told him where we had drive from and how long it had taken and he joked and how long it takes him to do the same journey lol he was polite , helpful and really attentive. Nicest receptionist I’ve ever met.
We went up to our room you could tell it used to be a premier inn it still had the carpets, headboards and curtains but the hotel had only been open a week so I presume the more money they make the more they can invest in the hotel which is needed a little especially the carpets and the bathroom but the room was clean ( with a note from Helen who had cleaned the room) with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. You could tell all the bed linens were new and the
pillows were amazing we had the best sleep ever.
Came down stairs to check out in the morning (10am a little early I thought lol) staff were lovely asked how we were and what we had planned. Had a good chat and felt welcome which sometimes you don’t really get that in big places so it felt nice. We missed breakfast but by the looks of things they had quite a selection.
So all in all it was a good stay but the staff made it better especially Adam. We would stay here again.
Greeted with massive pile of mattresses in the car park (not the best welcoming view - apparently awaiting council collection). Couldn't access the building to get to reception (have to be buzzed in). Looks like an old Premier Inn that's been run down and a few new signs up. Room was nice and big but run down. Poor state of furniture.
Great to see a hotel refurbished, ideal location.
Great staff.
Wife booked a room at this hotel several weeks ago as a halfway stop over for a break away to Scotland. Less than 48 hours before we were due to travel, the hotel left a message on her answerphone, cancelling our booking, blaming the government because of Afghanistan asylum seekers and child refugees (their words), and to call back if we wanted to discuss further. We did call back, left a message, but no one returned our call. Also contacted the central switchboard who assured us someone would call back, which they never did. Extremely poor set up in our view, so be forewarned if trying to book a room at this place.
Disgusting
