Sand Bar Cottage Inn

Perfect location. Chris and Walker were amazing. The breakfast and tea time were extra special.

Had a lovely trip to Bar Harbor for a few days and stayed at Sand Bar Cottage. We stayed in one of the Garden Cottages and it was SO nice! Had some afternoons that were a bit dreary so we loved sitting by our own fire in the very comfy chairs. Breakfast was amazing! Really some of the best we've had! Little things like afternoon snacks, guidebooks to use, etc. made this a relaxing homey few days for us. We'd love to stay again!

Территория очень красивая. Номера очень уютные, и оснащенные. Общие зоны очень красивые, и продуманные, камин добавляет особой домашней атмосферы. Не хотелось уезжать. Хочется еще вернуться на несколько дней.

There are no words to accurately describe how amazing Sand Bar Cottage is. Chris is an amazing host, and was incredibly flexible. But the real deal in addition to the decor and lovely host is the food. I have never, ever, ever had such good food at a B & B. If they opened a restaurant it would be recognized by Michelin. Offering a sweet option and a savory option every morning is so awesome, and there were no bad choices. Everything was neat and clean, the heaters on the front porch made sitting outside possible when I thought it was not. Lovely gardens, parking on-site, comfy bed. I have no idea why you would choose anywhere else to stay in Bar Harbor. But I almost dont want to say it because I want to be sure to get in next time I'm in town! Thanks for everything, Chris, you are truly fabulous and your place is too!

The Innkeepers Chris and Walker pay attention to things that make their guests feel welcome. The rooms are clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Heat lamps on the porch made it comfortable for us to eat the delicious breakfast outside enjoying the refreshing spring mornings. I’m happy to have spent my birthday at the Sandbar (Chauffeur’s Cottage), Chris & Walker brought me a petite cake, card & chocolate dipped strawberries. A special B&B located steps from Shore Path, Agamont park and downtown dining/shopping. Leave your car parked at the Inn and go.

This was our first time staying here. We had a wonderful visit. The Inn is beautiful and the service was fabulous. Chris and Walker were extremely welcoming. Room was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was delicious each morning. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Curato nei minimi dettagli, accoglie l’ospite con tante coccole.. dalle 15 alle 18 c’è l’apprezzatissimo tea time con juice e torte fatte in casa… La struttura è stupenda e arredata benissimo con tanti piccoli dettagli adorabili, insomma la adoro! Grazie mille di tutto 🙏

Beautiful large rooms, super cozy

We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back! Breakfast (especially the blueberry coffee) was incredible, and talking to Walker and Chris each morning was an absolute joy.

Location really can’t be beat. Walking distance to pretty much everything downtown and a short drive to the park. Tea/coffee and some snacks were available to go, which made for a perfect pit stop between activities. Parking at sand bar was also very easy!

The bed was very comfortable, and the rooms were clean.

The most lovely little inn that was the perfect beachside getaway spot to celebrate the start of spring. Thank you to our most gracious host, Chris, who was so incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating! He was able to recommend a stunning hike on Gorham Mountain that was a highlight on this Maine trip. The daily breakfast was a delightful treat every morning that absolutely in and of itself is one of the best charms about this place! The location is perfectly within walking distance of everything in Bar Harbor and the houses themselves were so beautifully decorated. Would highly recommend, we will definitely be coming back!

I don’t have enough space to explain how incredibly amazing our stay was. This was a 10 year anniversary trip for me and my husband in September 2025. So we are late to leave a review but had to come back and rave about them! Of course the grounds were beautiful, the room was comfortable and accommodating (small shower bc old building but not bad), and extremely walkable. The property hosts live music & a delicious house made drinks. The band “On The Rocks” was our favorite so if they’re playing, GO!
But the Inn Keeper Chris is 100000% what makes this worth every penny. He was helpful with every question, hospitable at every turn, but the best part? SARCASTIC AND LOVING. I CANNOT WITH THIS MAN. HE IS THE BEST!!! 20/10 recommend this place and cannot wait to go back!
OMG ALSO BREAKFAST WAS MIND BLOWINGLY GOOD!! Way better than anything in town and you just wake up and walk downstairs instead of long wait times. Coffee was amazing too. Cannot recommend enough!

We traveled 3500 miles in 4 days. With Acadia National Park as our destination. Hoping we could make it, even if only for a few hours. At the end of our day we booked Sand Bar Inn. It was by far the BEST room we had our whole vacation! We stayed in the Southeast room, upstairs in the grey house. The room was spacious, clean and adorable! We would definitely stay again and longer!

Chris and staff went above and beyond beyond to make sure that we felt at home and had everything we could need or want for an incredible week.

Options for eating inside and out. Table service. Good food.

Always my favorite in Bar Harbor! Chris is fantastic, rooms are wonderful and you are in walking distance of everything you need in Bar Harbor. I highly recommend!
