One could only describe our six day stay at the iconic Chelsea Hotel as pure sublime.
We were blown away by our Chelsea room on the seventh floor looking out on West 23rd Street with not one, but two double doors adorned in beautiful stain-glass windows out onto the hotel's famous wraught iron balcony, and overlooking her neon sign. Pure charming!
THe staff could not have been more welcoming, or done more to look after us. Knowing it was a 25th wedding anniversary treat, the hotel had a bottle of bubbly on ice waiting on table, which was just so sweet! We were bowled over!
The room itself was beautifully luxuriously comfortable, and felt more like a home than a hotel bedroom - big marble fireplace, fab bathroom, grande luxurious bed, even a doorbell for the housekeeping staff that saw to our every need in the most subtle way, turning down the bed in the evening and leaving us marcaroon's for our morning breakfast.
Brilliant location, so central to either hang midtown, head downtown or subway uptown. In fact it is pretty much a perfect pick to savour all NYC has to offer. When the weather was foul, as it was for a day or two, we cocooned from the Nor'easter blowing outside, in pure bliss in our fab NY home-from-home watching Netflix.

Loved everything about this hotel. Staff were amazing, room was amazing and clean. Hotel atmosphere and decor was amazing as well.
I liked the old world vibe as well as the artwork on almost every wall. Every staff member we came across was friendly and helpful. This started from the gentleman who opened the hotel door to the check-in desk to the spa personnel. The room was beautifully appointed and the balcony was great. The cafe and the bar for also very nice.
Not anything that I didn't like, although I do wish the prices were a little lower. However, with a higher price comes excellent accommodations and excellent service.

Price
This hotel is perfectly located in the center of all things Manhattan. If you like to walk, you can go anywhere on foot, but there is a convenient subway station on the same block. The hotel is historic and very well maintained. Our suite was spacious and quiet. The Café, Lobby Bar, and Teruko are all excellent food and/or beverage choices. The rooftop fitness center is adorable and well-stocked. The staff are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.
