very pleasant older staff very attentive
Pros:

continental breakfast was excellent plenty of choice with any tea or coffee you wanted

Cons:

the restaurant menu was very limited especially if you stayed several days. the Sunday roast was good but there ability to meet other customer requests was poor lots of people including ourselves ate in the hotel opposite with a much more varied menu. I think this harbour hotel suffers from the same as others we have visited from there chef Alex Aitkins same menu.
the only other complaint was the pillows were not up to the standard expected in a hotel of this standard.

Lovely location., but you need a car and there’s not enough spaces. Poor air conditioning.
Pros:

Lovely location but not enough parking and couldn’t find a space. Very helpful team member came and told us to park not in a space.

Cons:

The property was good and the room nice but too hot. The behaviour of some of the guests wasn’t welcome and I wouldn’t stay again.very chavvy.

Relaxing and nourishing.
Pros:

Peaceful location in an idyllic cove. The room was comfortable and luxurious. The spa was very tranquil and I enjoyed swimming, beach yoga and the spa treatments.

Cons:

We wanted to try the painting, but the hotel had ran out of supplies. There were no water sport facilities, such as paddleboards for hire.

Relaxing break made better by good weather
Pros:

The buffet breakfast was good, though we thought having to pay extra for a cooked breakfast was a bit cheeky.

Our room was very good. Our only gripe was with those who design these hotels/rooms - why do they persist with installing baths with a shower for us seniors climbing over a high bath can be awkward. Also there was no shaving mirror for men and trying to wet shave was difficult.

Cons:

Brilliant
Pros:

We were given an upgrade on arrival; to a beautiful room with a view. Staff were super friendly loved the location very confy bed.

Cons:

I felt that at the price point cooked breakfast should be included not as extra. At breakfast it felt as though the team were understaffed, they handled it very well though.

Pros:

We got a sense things may not be as advertised when the overzealous security guard made claim to being the concierge (his lanyard and clipboard protested otherwise).

That, sadly, was a high point.

We dragged our bags through the liminal ‘beach club’ area with its piped music emanating from a lonely speaker to reach reception, where the generic yet tired decor leapt out to take centre stage.

The friendly receptionist showed us to our room as we wound our way around an endless, heavily photo framed hallway (it must be a Guinness record).

Yet it was upon entering the stairway where the interesting combo of feet and fried chicken smell really came into its own.

The hotel felt tired. In need of a rest. Like a hot pregnant cat who’d already suffered the indignity of many previous litters.

In the room, they left us some gin in a large glass vase and a sullen Romanian gentleman soon came to demand entry for the bucket of ice he was touting. No tonic though… that’s where these smooth operators get you.

No complaints about the room… perhaps except for the “valley view”, which had cleverly disguised itself as a static caravan park for our stay.

We perused the spa area. A perfectly overpowering, industrial bleach smell ruined by a swimming pool.

Dinner was rather nice. After all, who wouldn’t enjoy paying £20 for a plain Caesar salad.

As we left the next day, we turned back in wonder. Never before have we paid so much and been so eager to leave. I would absolutely recommend, but for all the wrong reasons.
