Pretty much everything.
The gym was a bit small. Not enough beds in the spa area.
The room was really nice and a really comfortable bed, gin in the room was a lovely touch. The location is right on the beach with easy access to Salcombe which is a big draw..
First off the spa, it's not very attentive and both me and my wife felt like an afterthought and a burden (although my wife could not fault the actual treatment)
Secondly the cost, the room was nice but still a bit steep and personally I think if a room is £330+ then maybe should include a cooked breakfast without paying a supplement.
Thirdly, again linked with price, its not that it didnt meet expectation as it is a nice place but for a one night stay costing more than £550 with the add ons. I would expect almost everything to blow me away and it didnt. One issue and this doesn't apply to all staff but both me an my wife commented separately with a feeling we caught some staff on a bad day (again not all staff).
The hotel was very comfortable and the location amazing. We parked up and didn't drive our car for 3 days, walking into Salcombe and using the ferry made this all very relaxing.
Spacious, clean, great location with stunning views, staff accommodating and food in the restaurant superb.
Minor detail but easily resolved - door to reception difficult to navigate when you’re carrying luggage and have to pull the door to open whilst doing so.

It wasn’t made clear at the time of booking that the included breakfast was continental and you had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. We felt this a little unfair for the premium price we paid for the room.
Wonderful location and room. Staff were super friendly and food was fabulous if a little expensive. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the room was a good size.
The bathroom fan was noisy and would have been better if it only came on when the shower was running instead of every time the light was switched on. Whilst it was really lovely to have a small balcony my toddler couldn't see the glass and banged her head a couple of time...maybe a well placed sticker would help :)
We were given an up grade to full breakfast on arrival which we thought should have been included in the price considering what we paid. The position of the hotel right next to the beach. The hotel bus that went hourly into Salcombe much needed. The young staff were efficient, friendly and caring. The spa was good especially on rainy days. The bed was very comfortable. Little touches like the gin on arrival and bottle water throughout our stay. The bedroom a tiny bit small but the balcony made up for that.
Being asked on arrival for £50 per night as a deposit against breakages I have never come across this before. My husband`s foot being stabbed by a thick plastic jutting out from the bed.
Supposed to be no dogs. Sitting on Terrace and was asked to move to a smaller table so non residents with dogs could have best table.
Having to pay extra for cooked breakfast was unbelievable.
