Everything, classical luxury !
The golf course ranger was a bit snippy and not as welcoming as everyone else !
Fantastic Staff, Very responsive to any queries. The breakfast was a standout - amazing selection. The facilities available were second to none.

Booked for my father's 90th birthday. Service was exceptional
Frühstück war top aber 30 Minuten Wartezeit sind viel zu lange.
Wartezeit Frühstück
Extremely friendly staff and brilliant service - went above and beyond - very thoughtful
Lovely room and very comfy bed with lots of extra touches in the room
Amazing breakfast
Beautiful building and rooms - feels like a bygone era!
The ev charging - I’d suggest getting a different contractor - (just for others info - it was so slow it charged car 40 miles in 11 hours! There’s a nearby faster charger that I’d use instead - don’t rely on hotel chargers)
The small outdoor hot tub/pool looks a bit tired and could do with updating - (it would be lovely to see the view from an outdoor heated pool!)
The location was excellent
I will write in a further email
The whole place is fantastic - the staff and the breakfast were a highlight.
Old school vibe with phenomenal staff
Didn’t sleep great in the bed
Lovely location and beautiful grounds as well as beautiful downstairs in the hotel
The room was extremely dated and scruffy for the money, was then charged for an upgrade for a room which was smaller but thankfully up to date and this was apparently because we had to pay for a view. I didn’t necessarily need ‘a view’ but I didn’t need a bird poo stained window looking on to an old roof !
This was eventually taken off but even still, requested an iron which took 20-25 minutes to come as the steamer in the room didn’t work. This then meant I was late for my reservation for dinner.
Both times I used the leisure club it was full of people and there was not one seat or bed anywhere to sit on as it is heavily over subscribed and the facilities were standard.
I think the hotel is more interested in guests playing golf rather than being a luxury hotel (other than the downstairs which was beautiful and restaurants beautiful) and with the £800 booking and £600 bill at then end including golf and restaurants, my total bill £1400 seems a waste to be honest as I could have stayed and ate at an alternative such as Grantley Hall for those prices and had an impeccable experience.
Amazing location,beautiful views
Slightly snooty reception in retail clothing shopping arcade
